A Pickle On The Tree

What is this funny thing? A hand-blown pickle. Yes. Green and lumpy and curved. A pickle. On our Christmas Tree. Why? I don't know but it seemed important and I'm all about letting people have the things that are important to them. Plus, I fi...

A Bleeding Heart

These are bleeding hearts from my garden. I wish they bloomed here all year long, but they froze about two months ago.
They sum up how I feel--a bleeding heart. All I can do is pray for the people in Newtown, CT. That's all most of us can do. And hope it somehow reaches them, and gives the tiniest comfort.

A time to mourn

I hate winter. Breaking ice tops the r...

A hanger on the tree.
It’s December. As with all Decembers that have come before it, I seem to be way busy. I’m sewing and trying to write and shopping—it’s amazing how Christmas can turn the most unshopperlike among us into buying fools—and trying to write and thinking of baking and…did I mention trying to write? As far as the baking goes, it’s one of those things where I like the idea and the end product better than the actual doing of it. Kind of like, somet...

Two Days of Doing Nothing
I've been sick for the past two days. Splitting headache and stomach problems. I had to miss the past two days at work. At first I thought I could at least add some words to the new wip. But they wouldn't come. I couldn't concentrate. So I spent the past two days doing pretty much nothing.
Grandson and daughter came over for a couple of hours. He's walking now! But after falling into the coffee table twice, I had hubby and SIL move it to another room. He wasn't hurt. I think our reaction scar...
