I Will Never Forget
This week at Word Wranglers, we're talking about who we're most grateful to in our writing career. I had tons of people I'd like to thank. Suddenly, one name popped into my head. Michael Rogers.
Mr. Rogers isn't a writer. He was my college English professor. He was the man that scoffed when I brought a romance novel to class because I always finished my class assignments early and needed something to do while everyone else was still working. The man who told me I shouldn't waste...

Thanks, Sandra Marton!
It's Thanksgiving week and we've got a bit of a meme going on - we're thanking one person who has helped us along our writing road.
Like many of us, I broke my reader's teeth on Harlequin Romance, having graduated from the YA section in my library (school and public) by about the seventh grade. Was I old enough to be reading Harlequins? Not really, but the Romances were tame back then (as they are now) and when I happened on a stash in my grandmother's living room one summer I was hooked. The...

Thanks to... Brandi
This week on Wordwranglers, we're discussing ONE person we're the most grateful to in our writing world. There are a lot. I've dedicated my books to some of them. My friend Kim, my writing friend Kristi, My editor, Jennifer Lawler, all deserve mention. Margot Early, who got me going down this path. They all qualify.
But this post is supposed to be about ONE person. The one who inspired you more than any other. So, without a doubt, that person is my daughter. I started on this journey toward p...

Thank you, Berta Ruck
In this week of American gratitude, the Wranglers are choosing one person they’re grateful to in the business of writing. Narrowing it down, D’Ann said, was going to be tough. It was for me. Would it be for you? Give it some thought, check out our posts this week, and let us know which ONE person you’re grateful to. And, while you’re at it, have a great Thanksgiving! My aunt had more books than you could shake a stick at. She bought them from a book club...

Random Ramblings
Okay, it's contagious! I sat in front of a blank screen to blog and my mind went blank. Then I started daydreaming about crazy things. What would happen if I wrote a book about the travels of a dollar bill. The people who owned it, how it got passed around. What if a 15 year old girl got it as part of her birthday present and spent it, then the man she would some day marry got it as change in the department store. A full circle romance. Then I remembered that was done in a movie. Serendipity....

Down and Out
I don't have much to talk about today. For the last four days, I've had the flu. A really bad bout. I started feeling really bad last Saturday at work. I asked to go home after about three hours of feeling queasy. I stopped on the way and bought a Sprite to settle my stomach. By the time I made the ten mile drive home, I was vomiting. And it went on for hours, clear into Sunday afternoon. I don't remember feeling that bad for years. When I went out in the afternoon yesterday to change the ani...

The numbers game...
The other night, my husband and my two-year-old grandson Eamon were sharing the couch. There was a big towel there that Duane sits on to protect the upholstery when he comes in from outside and Eamon was tossing it over his grandfather’s head, giggling gleefully. “How many times are you going to throw that over me?” Duane said, making a pathetic face that didn’t fool Eamon for a second. ...
