Merry Christmas!

Yes, I know I'm early, but we're taking Christmas week off, so I wanted to get my wishes in. Have I ever mentioned that I love Christmas? Oh, all right...

Well, since we ARE going to be gone next week, I'll make my announcement now. Actually, I've already made it, but not on Word Wranglers, so here goes. THE GIRLS OF TONSIL LAKE, my very first Women's Fiction title, will be released December 27 only on Amazon and only for the Kindle. Worldwide release will be April 30, when you'll pr...

When Rain Is Good

Today.

Yep. Today. Because it means the air is warming up and we'll soon be at a balmy 45+ degrees within a few days. Yippee.

Don't get me wrong, I like snow as much as the next person. In theory.

But in reality, it interrupts my life. I have to postpone shopping. I have to arrange for my Outback driving mom to pick me up and take me to work.

We're not made for the cold weather here--at least not in my house where the heat is something called radiant and refuses to sink to Hobbi...

It's a Big Deal!

I probably shouldn't admit this, but I never set out to write a trilogy about three sisters who grew up and apart in Texas. I started out wanting to write Kathleen's story – the story of a modern woman who isn't afraid to take what she wants in business but is very much afraid of admitting what she wants for herself. But then I started to write that story and new people started cropping up, namely her sisters.

There was Vanessa, who was spoiled and lost and eversoslightlydemanding (that's her...

'Tis the season.

Good morning! I'm busy writing, because there's a contract and and R & R that have me really excited this month. But my mind wanders a lot. More than usual, I mean, because it's...you know, the season. I'm reading all kinds of Christmas stories--I love Christmas. My office is a maze of unwrapped gifts and wrapping and gift bags and even some gifts in the corner that  are wrapped. They're all different, even the ones from Lands End that are the same--the colors are different...

Author Rue Allyn Presents Christmas in 1870!

Hiya, WordWrangler Readers! We are so excited to welcome historical author Rue Allyn to the blog today! Rue is going to give us a peek into the past today (and give us a glimpse of her yummy heroes, too)! Take it away, Rue!
Christmas 1870
As I prepared for the holidays, I began to wonder what Christmas would be like for the characters of my Wildfire Love series. In general terms the Alden sisters grew up in the repressive household of one of Boston’s richest and most powerful fictional charact...

You Might Need Manscaping If...

I've been looking at a few "hot" photos of men. Most of them were seen through my Facebook feed. Some of them, I found while looking for a picture of the hero in my next wip. In quite a few of the pics there was something missing. Body hair. There seems to be a very popular trend. Manscaping. Over the top manscaping. Not an inch of hair below the neck. Some of them had arched eyebrows. Of course, none of them were as wild as the one in the pic. So here's a post I thought would be fun. You mig...

NaNoWriMo Lessons

Things I learned on my way to losing NaNo.

Number 1--It doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you play. Okay. Maybe I have to believe that since I've never won NaNo. For me, it is virtually impossible to write 50K in one month. I told myself in the beginning, that I'd be happy to finish at 30K. I ended up with a little over 15K.

Number 2--I learned to the let the details go. I put in caps when there was something I wanted to come back to--even if it was just a mannerism that I was...
