ink, mark of my life
Kind readers,
I got a little more ink done yesterday!
Joining Professor Snape on my upper left arm are a lily, symbol of true and eternal love, symbol of the One, and the words Half-Blood Prince, which remind me of my dedication to those who are in between, at the center of opposite poles…
I myself am at last wholly at peace with the fact that I have always been, and shall always be, on the margins. Indeed, I believe it is a noble state. My heart has never contained more joy, tranquility and determination as it does now.
In other news, I have begun working on Blessed: how to be a joyful mystic and The Severus Snape Paradigm: Outcast, Rebel, Hero -it is going very well. I am writing the first draft of each by hand, and often do so whilst enjoying soup at a cozy local café, Moca Loca.
I have been feeling very inspired. More than ever, I am on a mission.
Ah, and the call for papers re: Ascendio is out! Next spring, I shall know if more rambling is on the horizon… I plan to submit a paper called "Chariot, Hangman, World: the cosmic ascent of Severus Snape" and possibly something called "Logospilgrim's mystical vision of Severus Snape," a sort of overview of the rambles I have given so far (it was requested by loved ones)… We shall see. I might save the latter for Aternitas 2013. Giving lectures at conventions is an exhausting affair!

imperfect beauty
Kind readers,
the summer will soon be drawing to a close, and I shall be hard at work upon my books…
This week, I have been enjoying the blessed company of loved ones who have kindly come for a visit. We have been having a number of discussions that have been reminding me why it is I do what I do, and filling me with strength, joy, determination and hope.
My reason for living is to spread love. To manifest love. To see love.
My imperfections are like knots in a tree. They do not stop the tree from growing, leaves from bursting, flowers from blooming, fruit from ripening.
Those knots give the tree its own particular, vulnerable, organic and divine beauty.

a permanent statement
Kind readers,
I got my second tattoo today…
Once again, it was done by the extremely talented Tiffany Thornton at Planet Ink. I am so happy with it.
This photo was taken moments after she finished the piece. Said photo does not do justice to how detailed and beautiful the tattoo really is.
As I wrote on my livejournal, I shall never stop caring for my loved ones. It is for always.

once again, with feeling
Kind readers,
as I imagine you can guess, Alan Rickman's scenes in the second part of Deathly Hallows took my breath away.
In my most recent livejournal entries, I wrote at length about this and the nature of Professor Snape's influence on my life.
I need to see the film again this coming week (I plan to take notes). I am ready to begin working on my next book of essays, which I shall release not long before Ascendio 2012.
I think to say that I am ready to begin is too weak a word. I am dying to write this book.
I shall be using a universal outlook in The Severus Snape Paradigm, encompassing the spiritual wisdom of mankind. I shall again be using Christian terminology and understanding, but I shall widen my scope even more than I have in the past; my approach will be less "specialized," if you will. For instance, each chapter will be constructed around a certain tarot archetype. There will be psychology, religion, myth, spirituality.
Blessed: how to be a joyful mystic will feature that more specialized focus, but it also will be profoundly far reaching and characterized by a pluralistic vision. I have already begun writing that book.
My goal is Love. My message is Hope. That is all.

Outlaw in the Land of Perfection
Kind readers,
I have been enjoying a blessedly restful summer…
Although much excitement lies just ahead! I cannot wait to see the second Deathly Hallows film. I shall be steaming my frock coat soon and ironing my cravat.
I am waiting until I have seen it to begin work on my next book of essays, The Severus Snape Paradigm: Outcast, Rebel, Hero. I have no doubt that the film will be a tremendous source of inspiration.
In other news, I have started working on a novel, which will be called Outlaw in the Land of Perfection. I am feeling very inspired by this project. My Big Black Notebook is no longer empty; I am jotting down character names, physical details, personality traits, and so on…
I am doing this in conjunction with work on Blessed: how to be a joyful mystic.
There is never a lack of things to do in my sanctuary.
The novel will take place in a sort of dystopian steampunkish future and involve an oppressive theocratic system. It will be about love, hope and freedom. The main character is a woman named Kristopher Silverheart -the Reverend Kristopher Silverheart, renegade peacekeeper and freedom fighter. It will feature things like motorcycles that jump into other dimensions, Nebula Pistols, another female character called Heaven, an opponent called Commander Mattaeus…
It should be fun!
So, a lot of writing this year and next. I shall try and see if I can make more prayer beads, but I am stretched a little thin at the moment with all these literary projects, not to mention the possibility of another lecture re: Ascendio 2012.
Oh yes, and in a few weeks I shall be getting a beautiful image of Professor Snape tattooed on my upper left arm, with the word "Always" underneath. There will be photos.

upcoming projects
Kind readers,
following one of those powerful inner prompts that I experience from time to time, I have changed a few of my plans…
If all goes well, I shall be attending Ascendio 2012. I have already registered and made my reservations at the Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando.
I cannot resist the inner Voice of Love. Even when it really takes me by surprise.
This happened not long after I felt a burst of inspiration. Another book of essays about Professor Snape came to me; it will be entitled The Severus Snape Paradigm: Outcast, Rebel, Hero. I am altering my writing schedule somewhat, and shall be writing this book before A Princely Calling: Severus Snape and monastic self-surrender.
The Severus Snape Paradigm will be written from a spiritual viewpoint, but will also be wide-ranging in scope.
Here is the cover:
It will be ready in time for the convention. So, here we go again!

Aeternitas report
Kind readers,
Aeternitas was truly a wonderful event… It was mellow, friendly, creative and joyful. I plan to attend again in 2015.
You can read my lectures here:
Wayward Sons: Professor Snape, Captain Harlock, and the Quest for an Ideal
A Crystal Flask: Severus Snape, Individuation and Transcendence
You can also view a video of my second lecture here:
As you can see, The Enthusiasts took beautiful photos!
I have been resting and recuperating since I returned home from New Hampshire. I am reading numerous books in preparation for my next project, Blessed: how to be a joyful mystic (an overdue project, but I am only just starting to feel ready to write the book), and I have had an idea for a novel…
I have tranquil months ahead of me, a time dedicated to my writing endeavors, to tranquility, to contemplation, to spiritual exploration. I had thought I would go to Ascendio in 2012, but that will not happen. I need a vacation from travel, speaking and conventions; I need to recharge.
A reclusive creature, am I.
This will be the Summer of the Garden! I shall be there as much as possible, reading, scribbling, gazing at flowers and clouds, and meditating.

mystical outlaw
Kind readers,
my incredibly talented friend Nezumi has just finished the outfit I shall wear for the ball at Aeternitas…
It is magnificent, truly beyond words.
The clothes are a fusion between Professor Snape and Captain Harlock… A personal vision.
The amazing wand holster, with a skull and crossbones and snakes on either side.
As the captain said at the end of Albator 78, Hors-la-loi je fus, hors-la-loi je suis, hors-la-loi je reste. My life is dedicated to those on the margins… Always.

my standard is freedom
Kind readers,
Aeternitas is fast approaching, and I shall be dedicating the coming weeks to my lectures…
The prospect of rambling again soon is not too overwhelming, I think!
I recently got my right inner forearm tattooed. This was a wonderful experience.
The photo below was taken the day after it was done:
I got Captain Harlock's skull and crossbones, with the name of his ship, ARCADIA, underneath. It represents my permanent bond with the outcasts of this world and my everlasting dedication to hope, and my refuge, the One, Eternal Love.
My theology keeps growing more and more radically mystical and moving away from the mainstream. This has given me much inner serenity. After Aeternitas, and a period of rest, I shall be devoting my time to Blessed: how to be a joyful mystic. The garden will be my workplace!
Ben Wu, my talented artist friend, just designed an amazing card; it depicts Santa Muerte:

Zoe Grace and the Snow Day
Kind readers,
my talented friend Ben Wu has illustrated a children's book entitled Zoe Grace and the Snow Day… The text is by Theresa Norton.
Here is one of the images:
The book follows the efforts put forth by a little girl to make her dream of a snow day a reality. Each member of her family gives her a task that MUST be accomplished before the snow day is made real. One by one she completes them and then goes to sleep. The next morning she awakes to find that her efforts were not in vain.
It will soon be massed produced, but a limited run is now available. You can order a copy by writing solc.contact@gmail.com; the book is $8.00 US plus $3.00 for shipping.
I am looking forward to perusing my own copy! Ben's art is always enchanting.
