rosaries and Professor Snape

Kind readers,

I have made another rosary… Red Czech glass, Sacred Heart center, golden cross.

Next, it will be Padre Pio.

Have I mentioned that I love making rosaries?

I got an email yesterday saying that my gift boxes had been shipped (I ordered gold and silver jewelry boxes for my rosaries, which will also come with a beautiful prayer card of the Lord being comforted by an angel in Gethsemane. Those should be shipped to me soon).

And, ah yes, I have finally settled upon a design for my etsy...

my latest creation

Kind readers,

here are photos of my latest creation, a rosary made with smoky quartz beads and featuring a large center with an image of Christ the King on the front, and the Virgin holding lilies on the back:

This rosary will be available on my etsy shop once I am ready (I am waiting for gift boxes, and I want to make a few more rosaries before I start listing my work); I imagine the shop will open officially towards the end of this month. I shall continue to share photographs of my rosaries h...

holy work

Kind readers,

this morning, I finished my second rosary, which I shall be listing on etsy once my shop is ready. I used white jade beads; I call it the honey rosary.

Had I known how much I would love this blessed activity, I would have learned how to make rosaries before now.

While I was at it, I created a new banner for my shop (the details in the photograph are sharper):

Ah, my goodness, and now I have got to get some rest, or I shall never get over this cold…

etsy shop, Infinitus, publication dates

Kind readers,

I am setting up an etsy shop for my handmade rosaries… I shall start listing items in the coming weeks.

Crafting rosaries is something I have been longing to do for some time, and now that I have begun doing so, I must say that the activity is very soothing. It is prayerful and helps me to maintain my inner balance; writing is excellent, but mental endeavors on their own can drain the spirit. Handiwork is a spiritual necessity.

Speaking of books…

It is official: I shall be signing...

"it's the arts"

Kind readers,

it is with immense happiness that I share the following bit of news with you…

I commissioned Ben Wu, whose artistic talent never ceases to astound me, and whose friendship is so sweet to me, to draw an illustration that will be featured at the start of my upcoming book, Blessed… The drawing will be part of the introduction.

It is a depiction of my inner sanctuary; I would also say that it conveys the essence of my conversion to Christ.

And here it is:

I am so grateful to Ben for his...

more exquisite art by Ben Wu

Kind readers,

I wanted to share with you a drawing that I recently commissioned from my talented friend Ben Wu…

This image has often come to me during prayer of late, and comforts me… I place my work, and fragrant flowers, at the feet of the Lord and Theotokos, entrusting myself to the Lord's will and infinite love, and the Ever Virgin Mary's tender protection.

This is paradise: the Beloved Master arranges all things as He knows is best. Thus there is no need to worry, whether my efforts fail...

The flawed master: review

Kind readers,

Denise Roper, author of the excellent book The Lord of the Hallows: Christian Symbolism and Themes in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter, has written a wonderful review of The flawed master on amazon.

Allow me to share it with you now…

The flawed master: lessons Professor Snape taught me is author Logospilgrim's second collection of theological and mystical essays on Professor Severus Snape. Snape is, perhaps, the most complex character in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, and...
