Remembering 9-11

Many Prayers and thoughts of Blessing to those who suffered and lost loved ones ten years ago today. May they know that we hold them in our hearts while they remain dealing with the 9/11 tragety! God Bless them all for this day is such a haunting memory for them to carry...and God Bless New York for rebuilding with love in the hearts and the fallen on their minds...You are all in our prayers and thoughts!!!

Keep them all in your thoughts on this tragic day in our History!!!

New York City (May 28, 2002) -- Construction workers carefully maneuver the last piece of debris removed from 'Ground Zero'. The event marked the final removal of the last remaining World Trade Center structure, Column Number 1001B of Two World Trade Center....

Many thanks and prayers to those who rebuild....America is behind you!

Friday Frights Story One Part Two

                                     Haunted Dares

                                By Robin Renee Ray

                                         Part Two

The threat of another scream balanced at the base of her throat, teetering over the edge as her free hand came up to hold it in. Black shadows danced around the room to the tune of her flashlight. The pulsating, pitch black cloud that sank back into the wood of the ceiling the second her eyes made contact had nothing to do with the glow of light that illuminated from her shaky hand. The beam of the flashlight swept up and over the web and dust coated ceiling but nothing else was there. "Get a grip," she said thinking about the sound she had heard. Animals like raccoons and squirrels came to the front of her mind while the images of ghostly thoughts kept peaking around the corner.

Candles the size of a large glasses sat in a row of four in front of Franny's pallet, giving the living room a warmer feel and easing the fine tremble that just would not subside. She had taken out her History book to study for an exam she had the following week. The chocolate chip granola bars sat on the corner of the blanket by a bottle of water. Franny was up using a stray board to push the debris on the floor away from the area she had made for herself. It was the thought of spiders and scorpions that had a fine sheen of sweat on her upper lip and several shivers going down her spine every time the bits of wallpaper came up off the floor in a dense cloud of dust.

"What the hell?" Franny's mouth dropped to an oval shape when she turned and saw her History book lying open. The sound of her sucking in a sharp breath bounced off of the walls when she saw her bottle of water sitting in the middle of the foyer. Her head began to shake back and forth. The bottle tilted over on its side and rolled back through the living room entrance. "Alright, who's in here?" she yelled, then fell silent waiting to hear one of her friends laughing. What she got was a hissing that flew by her ear on a gust of phantom wind.

Franny leaped forward in an attempt to go to the front door, but rethought and stopped beside her things in the center of the room. Who—or what—had moved her things was somewhere past the opening to the foyer. She cleared her throat while gripping the piece of wood in one hand as she leaned down and picked up one of the candles. "You guys aren't funny." No sooner than the words left her mouth the candle was knocked from her hand. Franny screamed and ran for the door only to be stopped with an unseen grip on her neck.

Her feet came off the floor while she desperately clawed at the hand that wasn't there. The impressions on her flesh said otherwise as the grip grew tighter. Her eyes filled with tears and her mouth hung open while the treat of unconsciousness filled her very core. "Bring them to me," an evil voice hissed, right before she crashed to a heap on the floor. Franny held her throat as she cried, looking around for something that couldn't be seen. On wobbly legs she made her way to the front door, only to find herself trapped. She yanked several times then slid down the door, facing the empty room. The light from her candles gave the only comfort in the frightful situation. Until they, too, began to go out, one by one.

"No," she cried and rushed to get her flashlight that had been placed back in her overnight bag.

She reached for the bag and it flew across the room. A firm mass hit her on the side of the face so hard she went sprawling on the floor right beside it. "I'm sorry…I'm sorry," she yelled, holding her face in one hand and waving the other wildly. "Please Mr. McGregor, I swear I didn't mean any harm." A deep guttural laugh echoed throughout the house from basement to attic, sending a violent rush of chills over Franny's body. She quickly shuffled over on hands and knees and snatched up the flashlight.

"He was absorbed years ago, you stupid human." The voice spoke as the vibration of its laughter died down.

"I don't understand…I just wanna go home."

"Bring them to me."

Its words were the last she heard as another forceful punch knocked her into a world of darkness.

FRIDAY FRIGHTS...Story One Part One

                                               Haunted Dares
                              By Robin Renee Ray

                                      Part One

Fear laid the ground work on the rhythm of Franny's beating heart. Every step she took toward the old two story haunted house made her wish she had never taken the bet. The car lights disappeared in the gloomy depths of dust and the setting sun, leaving her to pay for saying she could stay the night in the old McGregor house—a house that hadn't had a living occupant in over twenty years, not since the night of the gruesome murders of the whole McGregor family. The three children were found in their beds, all with sliced throats and bound hands. Mr. and Mrs. McGregor were found in the basement. Both had been decapitated and their bodies were mutilated in what the authorities could only claim to be a ritualistic killing.

Some ten years later, a homeless man was found hanging by the neck in a tree in the back yard, which at first glance looked like a suicide, until upon closer inspection it proved he had no organs left in his open torso. The killer had gutted him then replaced his shirt over an opening that had already dried. His insides were never found. The harder Franny tried not to think on the past events of the McGregor home, the more horrid thoughts flowed in.

"This is so stupid," she mumbled as she took the first step that led up to a wrap-around porch.

It was eerily quiet, not even the insects sang their night tune near the old abandoned house. The only home near was the one at the end of the dirt road, a half a mile away, that led to the one Franny was now contemplating on going into. Her hand shook as she laced her fingers over the smooth round white doorknob, her breath freezing in her chest. The door opened with ease. "Hello?" she called out. "I better not get an answer," she whispered as she dug the flashlight out of her overnight bag. She then pulled her cell phone out of her coat pocket and let out the breath she was holding when she saw she had full reception.

A dank moldy smell attacked her senses as she walked no more than two steps in. Franny coughed and it echoed through the large empty foyer. She closed the front door and with an extreme discomfort, forced herself to move to the middle of the foyer so she could see the rooms on both sides. All of the doorways were arched in a dome shape and wider than most. The staircase opened wide at the bottom then tapered in at the top with a dark wooden banister that hid her view of the top floor. The light that hung in the middle was made of both wood and brass and layered in cobwebs. Most of the wallpaper had peeled from the walls in patches that now blanketed the floor, giving the room an odd mirror image feel. All of the windows stood bare save the boards that were nailed over the outside.

Without thinking, Fanny walked back to the front door and flipped the light switch, then laughed at her own silly actions. Her cell phone rang and she screamed, then immediately covered her mouth, frightful that anything unnatural would answer. The rumors that grew over the years had all who dared visit the old home thinking that it was fear filled emotions that got you murdered for trespassing. Franny flipped the cell phone open on the third ring.

"Hello?"

"I'm going to rip your guts out," a male voice said, before he burst out laughing.

"You guys can come pick me up right now if you're breaking the rules," Franny replied.

"I was just kidding."

"This place is bad enough without any of you trying to push the freak buttons. We had a deal that I would do this as long as no one did anything to make me think this place is really haunted."

"I'll stick to the bet, but you better pay up if you walk out before morning."

"How would you even know, Ricky? All of you better be heading back to town."

"We can see the lights right now. Have you even made it inside yet?"

"As soon as you guys drove away. I told you I wasn't afraid of those stupid rumors, and I'll have fifty dollars and your new leather jacket when the sun comes up."

"No way, the bet is if you do it and don't get murdered, then I have a chance to stay and get what you offered."

"They were gonna try and scare you, Franny," her friend Cindy yelled out.

"Give her the phone, Ricky," Franny demanded.

"Mouth," Rick said as he handed the phone over the back of the seat.

"Don't worry Fran, no one is leaving my house until we come to pick you up," Cindy popped Ricky on the back of the head. "Prick face tried to talk us into parking up the road and then walk back and do things to scare you out of the bet. I say he's hoping you won't do it so he doesn't have to."

"Bullshit, she knows what she bet and no way in hell am I afraid of anything," Ricky yelled out and Franny shook her head.

"I should have never told Ricky that I would go on a date if I lost the bet," Franny was speaking when her cell phone beeped once and went dead. "Hello? You there?"

The relief of knowing that Cindy was going to be keeping an eye on the only other people that knew she was staying the night was a huge weight lifted off of her shoulders. Franny slowly made her way into the living room and was about to spread the small blanket she brought on the floor, when she heard something move upstairs. The ramped rhythm of her heart had her lips tingling. The beam on the flashlight took on a vibration as her head went slowly back and her eyes grew wide.

Friday Frights ... A year long weekly tale of twisted frights.

Friday Frights is a running series of short horror stories that I am putting together in mini-weekly reads, to later bring them altogether in one years time and create the novel called Friday Frights. I write these as I go starting Sep 1st, with not knowning what will come to life until the following week. Each short read will be spread out through one month, unless of course, I go over and need that extra week to kill out the read...no pun intended.

I will be adding a few comments after each story, with the commenters name, in the book that will be submitted. So be sure to leave a good one and add those things that have made you go jump in the dark. ; )

The first portion of Friday Frights will began the first Friday in September....They will be graphic at times and always filled with some form of blood, gut and gore. There will be a special page on this blogspot for FF and the stories will also be placed on the main page.

Hosted by: Hellfire Publishing

Going to be hiding for a while..LOL

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am going to be gone, into my work, for a while and won't be posting or blogging or anything like it. I have several novels to finish and a few short stories to write. I just have loads to do and need to put time in on my things that I have been putting off....and I have no clue why I feel the need to complete these, they will more than likely just stay in my dust pile..LOL But I won't have them in my head any longer. ; )

I'm really looking forward to going out of town to complete my Bloodbreeders series. So, if no one hears from me for a while, that's where I will be...with no internet, cell phone reception, no house phone and very few people and none that will bug me. ; ) Of course, that time won't come until after the first and I am counting the days. When your not needed that's the time to get away and write them fingers off!!!!

Have a great week!
