Goals for 2012 and more!

Working through edits on galleries and full out edits on books getting ready for that second round. It feels like that is all I have been doing for the last few months is editing one thing or another when all that I want to do is create.

I am working as fast and as hard as I can in the gallery of Return of the Prophecy this week:

I am just taking a break on page 250 with a little over 40 pages left to go. After I finish this book I will stop all editing and get to work on the sequel to the mini series After Hours and get at least 10 pages written in After Hours Delight, a story that is way over due.

Come Monday I will get back into the edits on Uncertain Meanings:

Now this is one of my smallest novels but one that has had the most trouble getting out on the market. Due to a difference in thinking I asked for a different editor after months of work and we began from scratch, my request. Now we are back to the beginning, and right when I have several other works slamming me and getting ready for release. I have never taken so long in getting any of my work back to one of the three companies I work for, but this has been two of the busiest months of my life..LOL
My editor at Hellfire Publishing and I will start the edits on two of my manuscripts as soon as the Holidays are over: A Chance at Love

And Bloodbreeders: The Revenge Book two in the five book series. We will have the cover soon...WooHoo!!! January Release
It looks like it is going to be another few very busy months, with me having several more releases coming out in 2012
My Children's book: The Tale of Two Toodlegnomes. Spring
Bloodbreeders: Seeking Others Book three in the series.
Piper Vale: Please Don't Hurt Me...The first book in the Piper Vale series. Thriller/Mystery
Vol.1 Short Stories of Twisted Tales...not sure but it may come out in 2012???
Shorts and Novellas to send in:
Thin Lines Between Love and Hate
Zombies Sex and Chocolate Cheesecake...almost complete.

The sequels to:
Damnation Human Interation
Jade Slate: Finding Salvation
After Hours Delight
Shortly after I write them!
Books, Novellas, Short reads to be finished:
The Night the Earth Shook...LN
A New Breed...LN
Jacob...LN and a swing book off of my Bloodbreeders series!
Sacred Love...N
Seven Hearts for Mary...SN
Wings and Passion...N
When The Sun Sets...LN
Sister's of Death...N
The Director...SN
The Night I Died...N

LN..Long Novel...N..Novella...SN Short Novel

I am going to have one very busy year between writing and playing with my grand babies..LOL

My goal is to have it all complete, edited, and sent into my publishers, by this time next year...if not before the month of October??? I have a bad habit of stopping everything to create a few short reads, being horror or whatever genre my brain feels like writing in that day. So I am going to add at least 10 short stories to this goal of completing 10 novels/novellas/short novellas in 2012. We shall see..LOL

Friday Frights: Story Two Part Two

The Haunting of AtokaBy Robin Renee Ray
We never made it to the school's gym that night. I droveeveryone home, then went to my house, where I stayed awake thinking about whatwe had experienced the short time that we were at Atoka. Three nights later, Ihad things ready to go again. This time we were going to walk the tracks by theschool and see if the stories of the glowing dead or the phantom train weretrue. I had asked Eric from work if he wanted to go with Kysha and myself. Hissister, Stephanie, overheard and joined us along with my neighbor, Crystal. Shewas addicted.
Everyone metat our house and we all made sure each other was wearing solid black and ifsomeone was wearing things that would reflect any form of light, it either cameoff or was covered up. The last thing we needed was the law asking what we weredoing and doing it so close to Government property.
"What if wereally see something?" Stephanie asked, causing Kysha and me to crack up. "Man,I know people who tried to walk those tracks at night. Scared the shit outtathem."
"So theydidn't make it to the other end?" Crystalasked, showing she was already spooked.
"Hell no,they saw those glowing things and took off. I ain't even lying."
"Stephanie'stalking about Oscar's cousin. He's always telling people what he's seen out byAtoka," Eric explained as he put on his black gloves.
"He ain'tthe only one," Stephanie stood and grabbed her hoodie sweater. "All the oldtimers talk about shit that's happened out there at that old school. I justwant to see if any of its true."
"And if yousee something?" Eric laughed.
"It's alllies, nothing like that is really real," Stephanie shrugged. "And if you dosomething to freak me out, I'll beat the shit out of you."
We allstarted laughing, gathered our things and piled into my daughter's car. Kysha'smustang made it a cramped tight fit, with one person sitting in the others lap,but it was the easiest car to hide by the tracks. We took a back road out oftown to keep from being seen and parked the car by the trees next to the fencethat kept the public away from the school. It put the tracks on the other sideof the car and hid it from vehicles that might happen to come in eitherdirection.
Our coatswere on and our heads were covered. It was time to walk the mile long track, hit the other end with hopes of seeing this glow and then turn around to facethe phantom train that had been seen on the tracks for over fifty plus years. Ilocked the car and we were off. I took the lead with Kysha and Crystal gettingas close as they could, and Eric and Stephanie brought up the rear. It wasn'tlong until we had to stay up on the tracks due to the depths of the drop off onboth sides.
"Don't moveso fast, Eric," Stephanie yelled, slapping her brother on the side of the arm.
"The sloweryou get the longer this is gonna take," he said, pushing her hand away andturned to catch up with us.
"Wait, don'tyou leave me. I'll fall," she froze the moment she looked down. "Eric, I wannago back." With her hands held out, she worked on trying to turn around, but herlegs wouldn't work with her mind.
"Just comeon," Eric walked back and grabbed her by the elbow. "You wanted to do this, solet's do it."
"Fuck you,Eric. If you leave me again, I'm telling mom."
That onestatement had us all laughing again. But we soon all fell silent when wereached the area on the tracks that lost the rocks and earth and was left withthe gaps between railroad ties. It was a large draw that the farmers used tomove their cattle under and it was big enough to drive a good size truck beneath.I took off and was one fourth of the way across when I noticed that no one wasfollowing me.
"You can'tfall through the cracks," I smiled at Kysha.
"I know butI don't know if I can cross this, mom."
"Give meyour hand, I won't let you fall," I walked back and took her trembling hand.
"Oh hellno," Stephanie said when she finally got close enough to see the dark abyss."We have to go down and walk to the other side. I'm not joking, I can't crossthis."
            "I don'tthink I can either," Crystaladmitted.
"It's just alittle bridge," Eric said stepping out on the first railroad tie that showedthe earth below. "But, I'll go down the side and help you two."
"Are youkidding me?" I laughed shaking my head. "Didn't you guys ever walk across thetop of the monkey bars when you were little?"
            "No,"Stephanie blurted out.
"I have butit wasn't dark and the drop off wasn't that far down," Crystal said as she turned to follow Eric andStephanie.
We hadn'tall been back on the tracks for five minutes when we heard movement in theundergrowth to our right. Everyone hurried to get closer together. Ericaccidentally kicked a rock and we all screamed and took off down the other sideof the track when 'It' burst through shrubs. A cubby of quail flew up into theair and we all laughed out in a gesture to hide how nervous that had reallymade us, including myself. Seeing a group of birds take flight and the soundsthat they made had me swallowing my heart back down my throat.
"Oh my goodness, that scared me so bad I need to pee," Crystalcrossed her legs.
"Thatfreaked me out, too," Kysha laughed.
"I can't seeyou squatting in the woods, Kysha, but we can," I winked.
"Not asquatter," Kysha blushed, "that's why I went before we left the house."
"I went too,"Crystal bouncedslightly, doing her version of the pee pee dance. "I guess that really scaredthe pee out of me."
Eric didn'thave to be told, he just turned around while Stephanie, Crystal and myselffound a big bush to hide behind and relieve ourselves. "No way…what is that?" Icame around the bush and saw him pointing down the track. I made my way back upthe rocky side to see what he and Kysha were staring at. "Did you set this up?"Eric asked, stepping up beside me.
"I countthree. Isn't that how many that were murdered in 1952?"
"And Oscarsaid it was the land off to the right after the first junction," Kyshaproclaimed. "He said the houses have been gone for more than thirty years, buthe said you could still see the steps that went up to one of the porches."
"Oscar's oldand will tell you guys anything to scare you. I know some of this stuff istrue." Eric jerked when Stephanie ran her hand under his arm. "But I didn'tthink we would see anything like this."
"That's bullshitman, that's coming off the street light," Stephanie said, as she tried to pullher brother to go back the way we had just come. "Let's go back now."
"I'm goingall the way across the track, that's what we came here for, right?" I said, wiggling my brows at Kysha.
"I'm in,"she smiled and joined me a few feet from the rest.
"If you'regoing, then I'm going," Crystaladded.
"I'll stayhere with Stephanie. I don't wanna go any further either," Eric said, puttinghis arm over his sister's shoulder.
We threegrouped together and continued down the tracks. The closer we got to thecrossing, the dimmer the strange glowing lights became until they hadcompletely disappeared. The wind was lightly blowing as we crossed the trackwhere several had lost their lives, either having their car hit by a train orsimply were hit while walking, like the twins that were killed at the crossingby the school. Crystalwas the first to see it when we turned back to wave at Eric and Stephanie. Herhand froze in mid-air. "We have to get off the track."
I couldsee it…it was really there, but there was no sound or vibration on the track.

Jade Slate: Hell's Most Wanted...Excerpt and more!

Find it at http://www.hellfirepublishing.com/and on Smashword and soon on Amazon!

Just wanted to share a bit from the book with you all...This is one of my all time favorite projects and it is a mini series so several other books will follow. Take a walk with Jade you will never forget it. ; )

Synopsis

Hell had no idea what kind of creature it held, until she found a way to escape its fiery grip. Jade had taken her fill of being the hand -madden to the keeper of hell himself, often finding herself in the bed of his son to steal the secrets that would set her free. Now on the run from the Grim Reaper, she gains her strength from the flesh and blood of the day walkers. It's one of those very beings that she takes compassion on that puts her on a different walk that could very well place her on a path that no blood demon would follow.

Excerpt:

The demon opened its lipless mouth and screamed, throwing black, foul smelling slime all over Jade's face. She turned her head and kicked out, hitting the disgusting being in its midsection. As it doubled over, Jade brought her blade down on the back of its deformed head. The creature dropped to the ground as the silver orb sank back into the sidewalk. The demon's corpse turned to ash and blew away with the rest of the garbage. Jade gathered herself, knowing the son of sin wouldn't be far behind.

"Hey lady, you lookin' for a good time?" a slender, young boy asked.

"Not from you, little boy. You are no more than a mouth full."

"I'll do anything you want, and I'll do it for a twenty."

"Go home," she snapped.

"I am home, lady. You won't find anything better out here. I'll do you for ten."

"Get the hell away from me, kid. You do not want to taste my pleasures." Jade pushed him with more force than she meant to use, knocking him to the ground.

As Jade walked away from the filth incrusted boy, she reached into her pocket, then threw a fifty at him. Seeing a child on the streets was no concern of a she devil like Jade, not even in the worst of situations. Or so she thought. She looked back to see three older boy's kicking the one who propositioned her just moments before and taking the money she had given him. She smiled and shook her head. Dinner was going to be something of a three course meal

Friday Frights Story Two Part One

                                    The Haunting of Atoka

                                     By Robin Renee Ray

In memory of the things that really happened with a small twist of fiction to give it that extra haunted feel.

*********

Driving down the highway a few miles from the town of Artesia, New Mexico and seeing the old school put a desire in me that didn't go away until I found out more about it. Before long, its tales of true horror had me visiting late in the dark of night, finding my way with a few friends and daughter was more of a challenge than most. The whole place was braced with a six foot chain-link fence that had multiple warnings to those who dare trespass. The Government had taken over some twenty year prior and they held a stiff penalty for all who crossed its barrier. But that wasn't about to stop me.

About a quarter mile from the school, many years after it had closed, three men were beat almost to death in 1952 and dragged to the railroad tracks to suffer a horrid, unimaginable fate. They had been working the fields around the school to send money home to their families in Mexico. All three died for mere pennies. It seemed that the old track had taken many lives through the years and all right close to that old Atoka school.

"I think we should go out there tonight," I said, watching Kysha and her friend Meg's eye grow.

"I wanna go," Crystal, my neighbor, chimed in.

"We have to wear all black because if we see any type of vehicle we are gonna have to hide like we never have before," I smiled, more than ready for the night to fall.

"What if we get caught?" Crystal asked, rubbing her hands together showing she was already nervous.

"You may get caught, but I won't," I laughed. "They'll never find me."

"I'm sticking with you, mom," Kysha quickly added.

"Me too," Crystal and Meg concurred at the same time.

"Then you better be ready to run like hell, because I will be out in the woods so fast that you won't see me move." I winked at Kysha.

At nine that night, we were dressed like misfit Ninjas in our head-to-toe black outfits. All were overly excited, until we drove past the old school and parked down a side road beside the railroad track. That's when some started showing signs of wanting to change their minds. It was too late, I wasn't going back the three miles to town just to turn around and come back. We were there and I was going in.

The appearance of the old school showed it had been a long time since any living soul had made their way into its lonely halls. We found a breech in the chain-link fence and made our way to the side of the school where we found a broken window to crawl through. I had been to many a spooky places but this gave me chills before my feet hit the debris covered floor.

"Why can't we use the flashlight?" Crystal asked, sucked up as close to my back as she could get.

"Because, it might be seen by a car on the highway. If you do use your lights, then cup your hand over the top, but when I say turn them off—do it," I explained as my eyes took in all the doors and halls that we would soon venture into.

Walking in a tight group, which drove me crazy, we turned down the first hall. I took the group into a class room to our right, which had six or seven desks spread out from years past. There was another door across the room, which we passed through into another hall that looked just like the one we had come down, also covered in debris. We went a ways, turning down a shorter hall that ended in dark shadows with no way to go but the way we had come. Strange sounds broke out and scared many in the group, so we thought we would go back and try going the other way in hopes of making it to the large gym that stood like a skeletal ghost at the back of the school.

We all stood in shock when we reached the classroom that we had moments before passed through. The desk were no longer spread out, but now stacked in front of the door across the room.

"I'm scared," Crystal said, grabbing the back of my shirt. "Who did this?" I didn't reply because I didn't know. We found another class and crossed with caution since the floor was all but rotted.

"This can't be the same hall we came down," Kysha acknowledged, right as I had taken notice of the very same thing.

"We didn't go that far, it has to be," Meg added, flipping on her flashlight.

"No way, this can't be right," Crystal said with tears in her eyes.

"It just looks different because we didn't come down this far," I tried to explain, knowing for a fact that it wasn't the same hall. That's when we heard what sounded like two little girls laughing.

"I wanna go home, now," Crystal said, stepping in so close that I could feel her breath.

"What was that?" Meg asked, stepping closer to Kysha, who was standing beside me.

"It might be the twins that were killed down the road," I replied. "They were hit by the train walking home from this school." I have to admit, I was trying to give them a good scare by bringing up the tales that were held strong by the old-timers that told them. Something in the hall at our back crashed to the floor and we bolted, looking for our way out. I knew the girls' fear was bringing out the beast of the old school. The rumors were more than just talk and we were finding out first hand.
