BIO....

I was born and raised in the big city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am the oldest child in a family of three children. Reading has been part of my life as far back as I can remember. It seems I always had books around and read anything I could get my hands on. I would go to the library two or three times a week. My library card was one of my most cherished possessions. My dad introduced me to the classics Call of the Wild and White Fang by Jack London when I was nine years old. I was an excellent student and by the time I was in the fifth grade, my reading and comprehension was at a second year college level. The first five years of schooling, I attended a Catholic school. My mom passed away when I was 11 years old, with my dad then enrolling us in the public school system. Through middle school and high school, I was consistently on the honor roll and I pretty much carried a 4.00 GPA. Besides reading, my extra curricular activities were volleyball, basketball, and the psychology club. I also worked on the high school yearbook for two years.

Once I reached those wonderful teenage years, I wouldn't get grounded in the typical way where I couldn't go out or use the telephone, (ok, sometimes I got those too, lol) I got grounded from going to the library! To emphasize his point, my dad would also take the books out of my room. It was shear torture let me tell you. If I really messed up (even seemingly smart teenagers do that) it was all of the above and he also took away my music. I never let that happen very often, lol. Reading and music seem to go, hand in hand for me. Both help me relax and bring me such enjoyment. With so many genres in each area, it's really the best of both worlds.

Horror books became my first love during those years. This also carried over into the types of movies I preferred. For many decades, I've had an on going love affair with anything horrific. The scarier something was, the more I loved it.

In my early twenties, I also started reading romance books just to break up the monotony. Historical romance soon became my new favorite. But alas, all the romantic love triangles and happily ever after endings became too much for me, so back to the dark side I seemed to go.

While raising my children I entered the child care field. Initially I did certified in home child care, which allowed me to be able to be at home when my children needed me. It was a win/win situation for everyone.

I also introduced my children to the world of books. It started with Dr. Seuss when they were little but then went to R. L. Stine. Even though my children were young, I'd let them watch scary movies. I didn't want kids who were afraid of every little thing that went bump in the night. While in grade school they loved Freddy Krueger and Jason, lol. To this day, they still enjoy a good spooky movie. Today, my daughter and I recommend books to each other and then share our opinion on the story. My son doesn't have the time to read quite as much as he use to.

In 2006 I relocated to a new area and took a job working in a day care center. I started as a temporary substitute working part time and with in a few weeks I was offered a full time assistant teaching position. I also took the necessary classes to become a lead teacher. A year later I had my own classroom of children who were, four and five years old.

Now at 48 years old, I have been bitten by the writing bug! I have several books I'm working on at the moment and am excited to have my very first piece Oh, Deer being published by Hellfire Publishing. It just goes to show you're never too old to try something new :)

I've also become a Grandma for the first time! I look forward to lots of snuggle time with my new grandson as well as spoiling him. I even started a blog that highlights all those wonderful events : )

I think I will always have a book that needs reading or a story that needs to be told. I'm the type of person who has two or three books going at once. Whether it's a romance with a bit of history in it, a mystery that I want to solve before the final chapter or a horror story that leaves me sleeping with the lights on, books will always be a huge part of me and my life.

BLURB:

Jacob Ellis and his wife Donna live in the north woods of Wisconsin. Like most young couples, they have hobbies they enjoy. Jacob likes the outdoors, choosing four-wheeling and hunting as his forms of relaxation. Donna loves cooking, but her true passion is working in her flower garden. That is until her labor of love becomes nothing more than a colorful, tasty treat for the white-tailed deer, who share their surroundings. One night the pair experience more than the typical four legged visitor to their yard. The evening sets the path for Jacob's decision to go against nature. After hearing a legend passed down through generations of the Chippewa Indian's, Jacob must now decide if it's just a myth or a lesson in the balance of law and justice— between people and nature.

EXCERPT:

"Hey, you want anything?" Jacob asked as he passed her heading into the kitchen to get another beer from the fridge.

"Huh?" she muttered.

"I asked if you…" Jacob's voice trailed off, as he got closer to the patio doors. He happened to glance out and was stunned by what he saw. "Holy shit," he said, watching the deer in the yard. What got his attention was the number of them. There had to be a dozen or better.

"What's the matter?"

"You should see all the deer out here," Jacob responded. As he made the statement to his wife, the animals turned their attention to him. They must have heard him or maybe they caught sight of his movement. But Jacob had never seen a time where all the deer in a group turned their heads in perfect unison.

"Well, I have six of them right outside this window. A few minutes ago there were five or so outside the kitchen," Donna explained to her husband. Unable to deal with the uneasy feeling of being watched she twirled the rod of the mini blind, shutting out the unwanted on-lookers. Something didn't feel right to her. Living in the northern woods of Wisconsin all of her life, she was use to the critters who shared her surroundings. This however, gave her the creeps.

She sat down on the couch, grabbing the multi colored throw her grandmother had made for her a few years ago. She wasn't sure if the sudden chill was caused from the falling temperature of the evening, or the freakiness of the situation.

Jacob moved to the window above the sink to peer out. Sure enough, the five doe's were still there. And they were looking at him. What the hell was going on here? Jacob thought to himself. He quickly raised his arms and flailed them in front of the window. The deer didn't move. Normally, any sudden movement would have sent the skittish animals running. But, not this time.

The darkness of night had now completely descended, making it harder to see the four legged visitors. The yard light over by the garage automatically came on and lit up the parking area quite well, but it did very little in the way of illuminating the area closer to the house. Deciding he'd seen enough, he turned heading to the refrigerator, when he noticed movement outdoors.

A large doe appeared from the shadows of the night, looking directly at Jacob. "Son of a bitch," Jacob whispered so quietly that Donna didn't hear him. The two stared at each other. Jacob transfixed on the eyes of the doe. At first he thought the glow of its eyes, were like that of any normal animal when reflected light caught them at a certain angle. The seconds ticked by in the visual confrontation, when the eyes of the doe changed to a glowing florescent green. Jacob was having a hard time understanding what he was witnessing. He stood there cemented with a mixture of curiosity and fear, as the intensity of the glowing neon color grew. Jacob remained there spellbound, as the deer took a step forward, then rearing up onto its hind legs.

Just sharing my new cover for Damnation: The Beginning...and a bit more!

I LOVE it!!!!

This story tells of two humans who had done very bad things to end up as Demons in one of Hell's many realms. Only, horrid things had happen that made them choose the road that put them in dark pit...they find each other and fall in love and then find their way out...back to the world above, gaining their human forms and running from the Hounds of Hell. Mary and John learn what it is to be normal again, while hiding from those who want nothing more than to take them back....

Damantion was put out with Damnation Books in 09' and has done very well so I thought it was time to tell how it all began and a bit more. There will be two more short/long reads to follow, telling the walk of Mary and John, along with the child they have, Kimberly...and how they survive in a world not meant for them anymore. And all trying to stay out of the grip of the Beast. Will they be forced to return to the Gates of Hell, or will they find a way to beat the crimes that they committed??? The biggest question that will be asked in this mini series is what will happen to their earth born child? Born of two Hell Bound Demons...Will she too be forced into slavery down below?

...........................................

On another note:

My short read: After Hours, another of my Demon reads has just been published with Hellfire Publishing and will be out very soon. I should have my new cover and will share it with an excerpt and blurb as soon as I get my gallery. It is one of my all time favorite short stories that also ran a bit long. When I say that, I mean most of my short reads run from 5 to 7k...these are anywhere from 8 to 10k because i just couldn't stop..LOL

That's about it for today...Have a wonderful weekend and great Big Hugs to you all~

Time to change the post..LOL

Hi all...I left that last post up all month due to the running contest I had going on. I am over joyed to say good-bye and hello to something new.

Tonight I will be sitting down with my co-author and signing a contract for our children's series: The Tale of Two Toodlegnomes. Akasha L. McBee is the one who created all the characters, through several summers on vacation, with us playing with plastic swords and running around the blinking fireflies that danced around the dark night that gave way to our imaginations. We would wait until everyone else was asleep then we would take off into the night and find ourselves an adventure...one I later turned into pages that other's could enjoy.

Akasha is five and has been a reader since she was three. Leapfrog and an already smart kid does wonders! She has been reading her Bible for over a year and now reads books to her three year old sister...who is now showing signs of reading herself..LOL I just love it!!! They're my grands....

I also signed a 15 book contract with Hellfire Pubisling: My Bloodbreeders series: My Piper Vale series: Mine and Akasha's Toodlegnome series: Two fang and claw filled love stories...and one really wicked thriller. Gonna to be a very long and exciting ride...it's time to hold on...that's a hellofa-lot of editing..LOL

I have a short novel that will be released with Decadent this year...when, still not sure?

I also have a werewolf novel coming out next month with Vamptasy, where I also have several short horror reads.

The fun part is what I need to complete..writing and creating is something I crave doing. I will have to complete books one and two of the Toodlegnome series, and book five in my BB series. The rest is out of my way...other than edits, of course...those are the work part of being a writer. ;) I tell you...having a good editor behind you, means the world to getting through the work portion of a book. We as authors know more than anyone what is in our books, hell, we put it there. Having someone help find your mistakes is priceless!!!

Before I start correcting anymore books, or write another story...I am taking a small break. I am going fishing..LOL I plan on doing nothing but kicking back with maybe a cold one and letting my mind breathe. A few weeks after I get home I will be heading out again for a family vacation where the grands and I will begin book two in the Toodlegnomes series. This next month is all about the fun for me...those that need me, will be up a waterless creek..LOL There is no internet where I'm going...my Blackberry will be lucky to get a text. :)

Have a great week....

Big Hugs~

Sharing Grandbaby Fun and One Black Eye

Sharing Grandbaby Fun, and One Black Eye

The oldest grand who is five came running into my cave. "Grandpa's picking one me." She had a huge frown and one little hand on her hip. "And he won't stop." I smiled, how could I not.

"Well, "I replied. "Just punch him in the eye." I jumped off the bed. "I'll help ya, let's go beat up grandpa." Her eyes went wide and her mouth went round and off we went. We both rounded to corner to grandpa's sitting room, where he was watching some kind of, sport, news, or politics…that got me going even more, so I dove right on top of him, knocking him to the side, yelling…"Get him, beating up, I got to old goat."

With all the ruckus going on with us three, in runs the youngest who has just turned three. Help at last…not hardly! She comes over and starts wrestling grandma, laughing as hard as she could. I look up in time to see this itty, bitty, little fist on the end of this tiny baby stick of an arm come shooting out of nowhere right into grandpa's eye. He went back closing both eyes tight saying, "Okay, okay, that's enough!" Here I am laughing so hard I almost, if not a little, wet myself. I couldn't say a word, hell I couldn't even take another breath I was laughing so hard.

He lifted the oldest off and tried to set up why she kept trying to punch his eye. He slowly turned his head and looked me dead in the eye with his one good eye and simply told me, "You need to stop telling them to hit people."

"Not people, Grandpa. Just those that pick on them," I said pulling his little rug-rat off as she continued to pummel my legs. "Wanna snack and a juice?" I had said the magic word and my attacker was running for the fridge..LOL. Grandpa was still nursing his really red eye and I was off with my girls to grab those snacks….of course, telling the oldest on the way…"You got him good baby girl, maybe he'll think next time before he starts pickin'?" Yet, we all know he won't. He is grandpa and that's what they do in this house; they pick, tease, scare from a dark corner, run out the door with black oil on their hands and two little girls screaming at the top of their lungs, in front of them…and those unending hours of backyard play with, either baseballs or swings…grandpa's need recognition too. And maybe a punch in the eye, when they pick too much. ;)

Tune in next time…I always have something funny to tell about my world with the grand's. Just like the youngest looking up at my brother who just drove in from Texas in his big red truck. "You's f*** is wed wike gampa's." His face twisted a bit with me and everyone else cracking up…then I explained she couldn't say truck. Then she ran down the yard saying and pointing at the two red trucks. "Gampa's wed f***." Then run to my bro's, "Uhule Buuse's wed f***." It was hilarious to say the least!

Well, I am off to see what the youngest is doing…she is really quite in the playroom. Then in a few hours we will go pick up the oldest from school and then it will really be on..LOL

Have a great day!

Getting Great Feed-Back on Bloodbreeders: Living in Darkness

The best part about writing a book is the feed-back that the readers give me. The only bad thing about the emails that I get...is I can't post them because they have spoilers in them, where my readers are shocked at something they were not expecting. *Wiggling Brows* Huge thanks to all have been reading my book...and watch out, there may be a twist around the next corner. ;)

I am happy to say that a few that are reading the book have sent emails and said they would do a review and send it when they finish...and I am over the top proud to say that not one person has had one ugly thing to say...WooHoo!!!

Bloodbreeders: Living in Darkness has been entered into the Covey Awards, and is now an ad on Coffee Time Romance. It has been sent out to a few pro reviewers...I will post them all as they come in.

This is a very exciting time. This is the first book that I wrote those long five years ago and it has now found the perfect home. It's a five book series, that I may write a few swing books off of??? Writing is never really a plan with me...I just sit down and start hitting the keys. ;)

Have a wonderful evening!

Big Hugs~
