Hi all....I will be posting the first part of The Haunting of Atoka the first Friday in October. I'm doing a story a month to have a complete book of tales by the end of one year.
I may work on my humor filled horror, Zombies Sex and Chocolate Cheescake. I am also working on completing Sister's of Death and The Night the Earth shook.
Then again...this day may just be one lazy 'have to do nothing'..LOL

Print release on the 30th: Bloodbreeders: Living in Darkness
Synopsis
Not once in her life did farm girl Renee Crocker, imagine she would encounter a world found only in the minds of myth-seeking men. Although the things they sought were not always unheard of in the 1930's in other parts of the world, life was just too harsh in the small Texas community, to pay mind to anything other than raising a healthy crop to ensure the survival of one's family. But late one evening during supper, a stranger comes knocking on the door of the Crocker family farm house and is invited inside.
It doesn't take long for Renee to discover a great number of things that people in her neck of the woods couldn't even contemplate. The dark of night takes on a whole new meaning, and the once vulnerable young country woman finds herself struggling to survive in a world that demands she live forever in darkness.
Excerpt
When I awoke, the four of them were in what seemed to be a heavy discussion. I could tell it was about Martin and me, because the instant they noticed I was awake, the conversation stopped and they all turned my direction.
"Oh, you're awake. How does your arm feel?" Rebecca asked.
"It's better, thank you. Um, is there a problem?" I asked, looking from her to the men.
"No, everything is fine. We just had a small disagreement, it's nothing to worry yourself about," she said.
I didn't know what was going on, but I wasn't about to ask in the presence of the three men. I just wanted to be gone from here. I knew Martin was already looking for me, I could feel it. Even if he wasn't I knew it wouldn't be long until he was.
"So, where do we go from here? Did ya'll find a car?" I asked.
"Yes," Rebecca answered. "Ronny has one ready outside."
"Then can we leave? He's looking for me, I know it," I said.
Omar looked at Rebecca and gave her a small smile, one you wouldn't notice unless you were looking straight at him. I didn't try to question his antics; I just got up and started for the stairs. I didn't have any intention of having a conversation with the likes of Omar, even if I did want to know what that little smirk was all about. He made my skin crawl the first time he opened his mouth, and has had my nerves on edge ever since.
We all loaded in the vehicle, and traveled throughout the night, stopping only to steal gas. No one spoke much, though Rebecca asked how I was several times. Along our way, we found abandoned houses to seek refuge from the day, even staying in a cramped little crypt in a rundown cemetery. We were usually crowded, but once the sun came up, it didn't really matter where we slept. The days and nights passed uneventfully. On the fourth night as we were huddled in a dank cellar, the pain in my stomach returned with a vengeance.
"She needs to feed. We don't need her weak," Omar told Rebecca.
"No!" I cried out. "I won't hurt another person, I can't."
Omar opened his mouth as if to say something, but Rebecca grabbed his arm.
"We will teach her to feed without taking life. That is Martin's way, not ours," she said looking at me. "We can show you how to survive without causing harm to a normal. Even animals can serve us well."
I thought about it for a moment before agreeing. "Ok, then I'll feed. I don't want to slow us down, and give that bastard a chance to catch up. I would rather die than go back with him," I said.
I knew that was only part truth. Despite everything, I missed him, or at least some part of me did. The other part wanted his neck hanging from a noose. I could still feel the kiss…our last kiss. How could I have been so stupid? How could I have thought it was real? Just another of his tricks, I told myself. The neigh of a goat brought me back to reality. I looked up the cellar stairs to see Ronny and Marcos peering down with a brown and white goat between them.
"Anyone ready for breakfast?" Marcos laughed.
The rest of us made our way up, and when we surfaced, Ronny pulled out a blade like I had never seen. "What are you going to do with that?" I asked.
"It's better to get the blood flowing than trying to bite," he said. "They're to dirty for my taste, if you get my meaning."
"Oh, I see..."
"I prefer the blood of a normal," Omar interrupted. "This is beneath me," he said disgustedly.
"Shut up, Omar," Rebecca demanded angrily. "You know this is our way now."
Omar puffed out his chest, but didn't say another word. It was obvious he had more to say, but her look stopped him before he could open his mouth. Instead, he clenched his jaws, and left the room. Marcos, with a tin cup in hand, looked to Ronny who then sliced through the goat's throat. The gurgling noises that followed were enough to make me want to leave the room as well, but I stayed where I was.
Marcos filled the cup to the top and handed it to me.
"Ladies first," he said.
I took it, sloshing the blood causing it to run down the side of the cup and over my fingers. I licked my lips and reluctantly took a sip. The taste was wonderful. I gulped down the viscous fluid, trying not to leave a single drop. The pain was gone the moment the blood hit my stomach. I handed Marcos the cup and greedily licked my fingers clean, as I thanked them in-between the very un-lady like spectacle. When everyone had, had their share, we were off again.
"We will reach the ocean sometime tonight," Rebecca said. "Then the real journey will begin."

A Story You Can Sink Your Teeth Into!
Robin Renee Ray-Blood Breeders
Robin Renee Ray's imagination has run wild with Blood Breeders. Ray honed a truly intriguing tale filled with terror, suspense, sex, and human bondage with a great deal of intense storytelling that leaves your emotions on edge! Think "Cinderella" meets "Beauty and the Beast" as an adult tale told with great enthusiasm and vigor. Ms. Ray has pulled out all the stops to give us a story that raises the heart rate of any good soul. Parts of it I read numerous times to ponder the story all over again. Tasty! Read the story and find yourself under Robin Renee Ray's spell. You have been warned! There is no turning back!

Robin Renee takes us on a dazzling journey through the growth of the recently turned vampire Renee Crocker. Leading a sheltered life on a small farm, Renee was unprepared for the beautiful stranger that showed up at her parents' house. It wasn't uncommon for people to stop by for a few days or even stay on a whole season to work the fields. Her father never turned anyone away and had a bunk house set up for travelers. But in her 26 years of life, no one had ever stirred anything in her like Martin. Dressed in a suit, unlike most of the travelers, he shows up one night just as the family is sitting down for dinner. He politely declines the invitation to dinner only wishing to rest for the night. Renee is sent to the bunkhouse to bring him a plate and some blankets. She is hypnotized by his presence and stutters nervously as she hands him the items with a blush developing on her cheeks. Martin is enchanted and recalls what brought him here in the first place. He has big plans for this small town beauty. It's just too bad he can't tell her til after he's done.
This was a really great book. I was sucked into the plot just from the prologue and couldn't wait to get started. And once I started the book, I couldn't put it down! It takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride…you laugh…you cry…your heart breaks, then bleeds and finally starts getting put back together again. Robin Renee does a great job of creating a whole new world of vampires for readers to get lost in! Ann Rice fans need to point their radar this way!

This review is from: Living in Darkness (Bloodbreeders)
When I first began Bloodbreeders: Living in Darkness I really didn't know what to expect. I sat down to read it and the first forty pages or so I read at a normal pace, after that I could barely put it down. I even read the darn thing while I was walking on my treadmill!
This book is about a farm girl named Renee Crocker who is changed into a creature of the night by a stranger who visited their farm. Renee, being recently changed is quite naive of their ways, but she is also headstrong and brave.
This is not one of those books that you read when something almost happens to someone and then they suddenly get away or they are all the sudden saved before the bad thing happens. Believe me, bad things happen in this book. There were so many times when I found myself cringing in expectation even as I turned the pages anxiously.
Robin Renee Ray takes you on a journey with Renee Crocker and makes you feel like you are right there with Renee. I really liked the storyline and how her vampires are a bit different from your average that you read about. In this book though, the word vampire isn't found anywhere. So I will say creatures of the night.
However, as much as I enjoyed the story I was quite upset when I got to the last page. It's freaking wide open for the next book. I mean there is no way this book is a stand-alone because there will be another one. There has to be! When the next in the Bloodbreeders series comes out I will be one of the first in line to see if Renee gets what she is after.

I enjoyed this book so much when I first read it, that I cannot wait til the series is in my hand! Excellent read! Fast paced...Never Dull, true "on the edge of your seat" suspense! Originally written and a must have for your collection! "Bloodbreeders" will leave you begging for more...

Another great story from the talented Robin Renee Ray. I can't wait to ready the next installment of this fast-paced series.
The heroine, Renee Crocker, is a country gal as strong as (or stronger than) most men. Although too trusting in the beginning, Renee quickly learns the world outside her home town is fraught with dangers and the monsters who enjoy inflicting pain.
I see the beginnings of an intriguing and enjoyable series of books and look forward to enjoying many more tales of the life of Renee Crocker.

Friday Frights: The Conclusion to: Haunted Dares
The ConclusionCindy started crawling back on hands and heels, reaching out to grab Franny's arm. She responded with a jump before getting up and pulling Cindy to her feet. The force that fed on Ricky cared nothing about the two that ran around it and up the staircase. Fanny looked back, halfway up as the form tossed Ricky's sunk in, dried corpse across the foyer. "Go, go, go!" she yelled as the thing turned and took a heavy step toward the staircase.
It seemed that the being, which resembled a skinless human with a deformed body, was still hungry. Its arms were morbidly long and fat, its center a blob of round red liquid and legs that were offset twisted around the wrong way. When it took the first step Cindy screamed from the upper landing. The veins that made up its backwards feet lightened as the being applied pressure to take the next step. The more its form came to life, the harder it was for it to move.
"Go away!" Cindy screamed bending over the banister.
Franny grabbed the back of her shirt and went into the same room she had awoken in the night before. She slammed the door as Cindy ran to the board covered window and began trying to yank them off to absolutely no avail. "He'll never let you leave."
"Help me," Cindy cried, as she kicked at the boards. 'We gotta get out. Ricky's dead."
Franny laughed, shocking Cindy into freezing in her actions and had her turning back to look at her friend. "He needs to feed."
"What are you talking about, Franny?"
"He's coming for you, Cindy," Franny smiled as she walked closer to her. "He's almost to the top of the staircase. Your life will not go to waste; you will give substance to a great Demon that has been waiting for such a long time. The homeless man they found in the tree fed his needs and was his last warm meal."
"You've lost your mind," Cindy pushed past her and opened the door. Her scream echoed through the large empty house as the being latched onto her face. Her shell dropped from the now fully shaped webbed hands. Its flesh was a dark gray mass of twisting organs that belonged to others. "Bring them to me," it hissed, spewing slime and the same black fog that had come from Franny's mouth. The darkness consumed her once again in the shape of a beast from hell itself. "Bring them to me."

Her hair was a different color and cut close to the top of her shoulders, and she carried a very different demeanor than before she'd entered the old McGregor home. Franny had changed schools and started making new friends, many of which enjoyed exploring the spooky old haunts of years gone by.
"I know about a place not too far from here," Franny smiled, her eyes glowing for a brief second while the students around the kitchen table made plans to visit an old abandoned two story.
New story next Friday…The Haunting of Atoka…Based of true happenings with a tad bit added for juicing up the tale. ; )

Friday Frights Story One Part Three
Haunted Dares
By Robin Renee Ray
Part Three
Franny woke to the sounds of her own moaning. Pain shot through her stomach like she had been slammed into by a freight train. A pale light crept through the wooden planks on the window giving Fanny a view of a room where she'd not yet been. She gained her focus and sat up using her elbows to hold her upper body up off the floor. Morbid shock took hold when she saw her shirt ripped from the bottom hem to the collar, her stomach smeared in red gore. Franny frantically wiped at the red lines that went from her bellybutton to the bottom of her ribcage.
"Bring them to me." The hiss brushed by her ear.
"Please," she raised her hand to something she couldn't see.
"Bring them to me."
The sound in the tainted air fell silent. Franny rolled to her side and threw up. She got to her feet, the pain now pounding in her head, and made her way out onto the landing at the top of the staircase. Confusion of how she ended up where she was gripped her emotion like a tight fist and she cried all the way down into the living room where she found her belongings strewn about the whole area. The candles were nothing more than a melted blob stuck to the floor. Her blanket hung from the light fixture in the middle of the ceiling and pages from her book coated the already debris-covered floor. She left it all but the overnight bag and her jacket and walked to the front door.
"Please open," she whispered as she turned the knob.
It opened and she stepped out into the coming dawn. Franny put on her jacket and started down the steps as her friends came driving up the road. She closed her torn shirt, taking on a different composure the moment they turned into the overgrown driveway. Ricky was the first to get out, with Cindy close behind. "I told she would stay all night," Cindy said running up to her. "He stayed up all night waiting for you to call."
"Bullshit, I did not," Ricky pouted. "Maybe I stayed up because I was worried?"
"You are so full of it, Ricky. You were hoping she wouldn't do it so you wouldn't have to…but guess what?"
"It was fun," Franny said with a full smile adorning her face. "I think we should all stay tonight. You'll never forget it."
"What happened to your shirt?" Cindy grabbed her jacket sleeve and turned Franny for a better look.
"I told you I should have brought extra clothes. It got caught on a nail," Franny lied.
"Greg and Butch won't come, they're going to Beverly's party. Hell, I'd be going to if we didn't have this stupid bet," Ricky complained, looking back at the old McGregor home.
"You two should work," Franny added as she got into the car.
"Do what?" Cindy asked getting in behind her.
"Oh, nothing, I just need a good bath. I can't wait to come back, you'll really like this place."
Ricky picked up Franny and Cindy at six thirty that night. They had slept through the day—all but Franny who sat on her bed staring out into space. She didn't answer her dorm room phone until Ricky called, as if she knew who was on the other end. Cindy rummaged through her bag while Ricky drove in silence, something he never did. She pulled out a recorder, elbowing Franny and nodding her head toward Ricky. Franny looked down at it, then half smiled, turning to look back out the window, watching as the top of the old two story came into view.
"If either one of you try anything stupid, I will leave you out here," Ricky said as he pulled into the drive and right up to the front steps.
"Need a quick getaway?" Cindy asked, then burst out laughing.
The three got out, Ricky and Cindy with their bags in their hands. Franny stood looking up at the second floor. Ricky bumped her, handing her the same overnight bag she'd had the night before. She took it and was the first to walk up the steps. The door opened with ease. Franny couldn't control the laughter when she saw all the candles whole again, sitting by her blanket with her History book lying closed on it with all of it's pages intact.
"What's so funny? This place is uber freaky," Cindy asked, putting her bag down by the blanket.
"Nothing, I was just wondering where I left my book." The glint in her eyes gave Cindy the chills. "Thought I left it up there." She turned in the oval shaped entrance to the living room and pointed at the staircase.
"You went up there?" Ricky stuttered.
"That's where I woke up this morning," Franny scratched her stomach.
Three hours later, the three were gathered around the light of the candles, which had just hours before been melted down to nothing but a blob of wax on the floor. Just like the night before, something moved on the floor above their heads.
"What the fuck was that?" Ricky grabbed his bag and pulled out a flashlight and a small handgun. He then stood and started walking toward the foyer.
"That won't do you any good," Franny said, doubling over and clutching her stomach.
"Franny, what's wrong?" Cindy got to her knees beside her.
A guttural cry escaped as a black fog flew from Franny's mouth, past Cindy and right at Ricky who was turning to see what was happening. The black fog dissipated as the gun went flying across the room and Ricky's feet came off the floor. His mouth opened in a silent scream; his lips pressed back against his teeth. His arms swung wildly as he tried to free himself from the invisible mass that was covering his face and crushing his throat.
The girls looked up and both screamed, Franny wondering how Cindy and Ricky ended up in the house with her. She wiped the black gore from her lips and grabbed Cindy's arm. Ricky began making gurgling sounds as a red fluid flowed from his mouth, nose and eyes, into something that was taking on a form of its own, coming to life with Ricky's substance.
To be continued next Friday….
