More TAKEN IN
A huge thank you to all of you who helped share news of TAKEN IN‘s release via Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Of course, Kelly Ripa is on vacation this week (ugh!), but I have to hope she’s still checking her Twitter account. SMART call, Chris C., on including Michael Strahan’s handle in your Tweet–thank you!!
I guess now we just wait and cross our fingers… It was certainly worth a shot.
I stopped at two Barnes & Noble locations in my area yesterday. Just to see the books on the shelf and sign stock f...

TAKEN IN
It’s Here! It’s Here!
TAKEN IN (the 9th book in the Southern Sewing Circle Mysteries) is now available!!
I am very excited about this book for lots of reasons, not the least of which was the opportunity to bring the Sweet Briar crew to New York City (talk about some serious fish out of water).
I need lots of help spreading the word about TAKEN IN‘s launch. If you can talk it up on Facebook or Twitter, that would be a huge help. If you can spread the word about it to your reading buddies, please...

Sharing The Past
Periodically, over the last few weeks, I’ve been introducing my youngest to Family Ties. I was about the same age as she is now when the show first came on, and I figured she might enjoy it as much as I did.
The show has held up pretty well, and Ishegiggles at least twice in every episode about something Alexor Jennifer say (a good sign).
It’s fun watching these shows with her.I started her on Brady Bunch, Little House on the Prairie, and The Cosby Show years ago. And, not surprisingly, she’s...

Happy Bits
I can’t even begin to tell you how glad I am that Friday is here. Even gladder now that I’ve officially hit “send” on that want-to project I’ve been working on for the last three months.
Woot! Woot!
Of course the celebration is short-lived as I have to head up to the car place again today with yet another “issue.”
Needless to say, I’m in need of some fun, happy bits.
1) You get thirty minutes to yourself, what do you want to do?
2) You geta whole day to yourself, what do you want to do?
3) You get...
The All-Important Launch
With the launch of TAKEN IN now just five days away, I thought I’d share some pre-launchbehind-the-scenes tidbits withyou.
*These last few days before a release (for any author) isboth exciting and a little nerve-racking. Exciting, because the book you created is finally about to make its way into your readers’ hands. Nerve-racking, because so much of a book’s success (in terms of the publisher) depends on first week sales. If you’re going to make an important list, it happens that first week....

The Power of Friendship
Please help me welcome my dear friend (and today’s guest blogger),Lynn Cahoon. Lynn has a new book out this week that mystery lovers will enjoy!
** *
Make new friends but keep the old; some are silver and the others gold.
The old Girl Scout camp song has been ringing in my ears lately. I’ve always had few friendships, but the ones I develop are deep and run long. Since I’ve been published, blasts from the past have been showing up on my virtual doorstep.
I love it.
I’ve reconnected with several Id...
My Book, Your Book
I woke up this morning to find an email from my editor at Penguin Random House with the cover for Sewing Circle #10–WEDDING DURESS.
Wow.
My cover artist who routinely hits a homerun with my books, knocked it out of the ballpark with this one.
Wow.
It is so good, in fact, that now–when TAKEN IN ( #9) is set to release one week from today–my mind is already jumping ahead to April for WEDDING DURESS‘s release.
I can’t share it with you just yet, but the second (and I mean, the second) I get the green...

S’mores, Gooey Butter, and Ice Cream, Oh My
On Friday,I came across a recipe for a S’more cookie bar that simply looked too good to ignore. The fact that I had all but one of the ingredients had my fingertips, made the decision to make this recipe even easier.
I made it.
And…oh my!
Wow.
On Saturday,DH and I had abarbecue to attend and I was tasked with making a dessert. He requested I make a Gooey Butter cake and so I brought that along (of course, there was a good 6 pieces that didn’t fit in the to-go tin so that, too is in my kitchen).
Su...
