Luck O’ The Irish To You

st.patricksdayHappy St. Patrick’s Day!

Are you wearing green?

Are you on the lookout for rainbows?

What would you do with a pot of gold?

Enjoy and be safe (I’m staying home–working).

Where Everyone Knows Your Name

Now that we’re inside three weeks until my next release (this one, a Southern Sewing Circle Mystery–NEEDLE AND DREAD), I find myself revisiting the basics of that plot in my head. That may sound easy, but considering I’ve written another book since I finished that one, it can be a bit tricky.

But essentially, two of my characters (who, coincidentally, aren’t fans of one another) have decided to go into business together. For Leona, it’s a chance to save a little face with the rest of the wome...

The Truth (and Lie) Revealed…

I decided I’d make you wait on my truth/lie reveal until today. :)

I’m tricky like that…

My truth: I murdered 2 goldfish when I was three years old.

How, you ask?

I put salt in their tank.

In my defense, I’d seenmy mom “shake” food into their tank. And so, yeah,I did the same with the salt shaker.

Of course now, looking back, I have to wonder if I was doing a little pre-career research…

True or False, That is The Question

I’m working on a list of “truths” and “lies” for an upcoming April Fools Day Facebook event I’m doing with my fellow Whodunit Authors.

So I thought I’d try two out on you here. Your task is to figure out which is the truth and which is the lie.

And then give us one of each about you for us to guess. :)

Here’s mine:

1) I murdered two goldfish when I was three years old.

2) I won the 200-yard dash for girls and boys when I was in second grade.

Good luck!

St. Patty’s Bits

shamrockSt. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, so I’m theme-ing our bits. :)

1) Do you wear green on March 17th?

2) How will you spend the day/evening this year?

3) Favorite Irish name?

4) Do you have any Irish in you? Where does it come from? (ie, my maternal grandparents)

Enjoy your weekend!

Prompt time

littlegirlwritingA little late this morning (an effect, no doubt, of the current busyness I mentioned yesterday)…

Sometimes you play along with writing prompts, sometimes not. But I’m going to put one up here today and see what happens.

*Write a few sentences from a kid’s perspective (little kid, teen, your choice) about anything. It could be losing a tooth, getting into their favorite college, whatever. Your choice.

The Engines Are Revving

I think I’ve mentioned before (and believe it was even second-ed by Chris) that September/October always ends up being the busiest time of the year.

Yet, out of nowhere, March/April (this year, anyway) has decided to challenge that title. Ay yi yi.

My next two months in no particular order…

*A few out of town writing events.
*An out of town MS event.
*An MS walk.
*A one day writing retreat.
*Another book launch.
*Writing.
*A major reader conference.
*School events for the kids.
*Getting my da...

A Special Bits

I feel like having a special Tuesday edition of “Bits.” Only these Bits will be book/reading related…

1) Last book you read?

2) Strangest place you’ve ever read a book?

3) If you could have access to only one book for the next twelve months, what would you choose and why?

4) Have you ever peeked?

Bits

So I’ve been a little preoccupied with the launch of A CHURN FOR THE WORSE the past few days. Sorry.

But I’m up for some bits today…

1) What’s your favorite non-major (ie, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter) holiday?

2) Do you wear green on St. Patty’s day?

3) Favorite of the Rocky movies? Why?

4) Do you watch a reality show of any kind? If so, what?

Have a great weekend!

In My Head

I’m not sure how many of you are on Pinterest, but I thought you might like to see a board I’ve recently done that gives an idea of how I picture the town of Heavenly, PA (from my Amish Mysteries).

As a reader, I’ve always found it fascinating to try and get inside a writer’s head as they’re writing a book. This board lets you do that a little.

If you visit it, let me know what you think…

You can find it HERE.
