Bits
It’s Bits Day!
1) First thing you do when you walk in your front door after work/shopping/etc?
2) If you have a pet, what is the cutest thing they do?
3) TV on or off when you fall asleep?
4) If you could buy yourself a new car tomorrow, what would you buy?
Have a great weekend!

You Q, I A (Part 2)
Last week, I fielded some writing-related questions from my Facebook author page and answered them here on the blog.
Two more have come in that I thought I’d answer here today…
Q #1 (from Cullum R.): Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night with an idea and get up to write it down?
A # 1: I really don’t Cullum. I’m not sure if it’s because I write (and therefore use my imagination all the time), that I’m not aware of dreaming at night…but I’m not. I think maybe one time a story idea cam...
Passion = Determination
Yesterday, DD # 1 and I headed into the city for a few hours. We had breakfast at our favorite place, took a whirl through a clothing store we both like (she bought, I didn’t), and spent about an hour in a bookstore devoted to plays.
That was a first for me.
I’ve been in tons of bookstores, but never one devoted strictly to one thing.
You see, DD # 1 is pursuing acting/dance in college. She’s very serious about her chosen career path and spends a lot of time (and I mean a lot of time) learnin...

Making Even An Elliptical Tolerable…
I’ve always loved to read. But now that so much of my day is spent writing, I don’t read as much as I’d like.
Last week, a friend sent my an advanced reader copy of his upcoming thriller. Since it was an electronic version, I loaded it onto my Kindle (which I rarely use) and decided to take it to the gym with me. I’d seen other folks reading on the stationary bike and/or elliptical and decided I’d give it a whirl (I’m more the earphone kind of exerciser).
Whoa.
First day I brought it, I upped...

Just The Right Time
This was outside my front door yesterday (on my birthday, no less).
Can I take that as a good sign for the coming year?
What’s something you’d really like to see happen in your life during thisupcoming year?

Winter Bits
It’s Bits time again (one of my favorite parts of Friday) around here.
1) Sweater or sweatshirt?
2) Regular or flavored hot chocolate?
3) Dunk your cookie?
4) Blanket over your nose or under your nose?
Have a great weekend, everyone!

You Q, I A
For today’s post, I turned to my readers for help with the “Q” part of this Q & A:
Q # 1: (From MaryAnn F.): What is your writing process: daily, certain time, required # of words, outline???
A: I try to write every day, Monday-Friday. That’s my goal, anyway. I’m a morning writer. By about 3 p.m., I’m done (unless I’m on a real roll and can’t stop). Ideally, I like to get 2,000 words a day (about 8 pages). I have the beginning and ending known when I start, but I utilize more of a bullet poi...

Wow Moments
I don’t know why, but for some reason I was thinking about winning stuff last night (don’t ask, I have no idea). Which got me thinking about stuff I have won in the past.
When I was in the fourth grade, I entered a coloring contest at my local Gap. The assignment was to draw my family wearing Gap jeans. That may have been simple for some kids, but up until that moment in time, neither of my parents even owned a pair of jeans (seriously). Regardless, I found my box of crayons and did the best...

The Best Gifts
Now that the holidays are over, I have to ask if anyone got/gave books for Christmas.
If you got…what was it?
If you gave…what was it?
I received two books from a dear friend. One was a Hearty Amish Cook book, the other is one that focuses on helpful Amish hints. Both will be great resources for my Amish Mysteries series, I’m sure.

Glance Back, Move Forward
Wow. That holiday week went fast, didn’t it? Now, in addition to a tree and all the assorted decorations that have to come down, a brand new year is upon us.
Tell me a few good things that happened in your 2015…and something (s?) you’re looking forward to in 2016.
