Also, for those of you in the London area – you're invited to attend a reading in Sh! Portobello on 9th April, where myself, Rebecca Bond and Victoria Blisse will be reading from this very book. My good friend Kay Jaybee will be reading from her latest naughty offering, The Perfect Submissive. Find out more here.

eBook Review: Mirror Music by Lily Harlem

Mirror Music

Due to my immense enjoyment of Mattress Music, I dove straight into story number two from Lily Harlem's series, Mirror Music.

I'm pleased to say I was equally impressed.

This book centres on different characters to the first. This time, we're following the story of Robbie and Jenny, one-time neighbours and lovers, now not even talking.

But things have changed considerably since they were together. They were young and foolish, but now they've both achieved their dreams and nothing but Jenny's stubborness is keeping them apart. Robbie hurt her all those years ago and it took her such a long time to get to a stage where the pain was even bearable that she's scared of letting him back in her life.

Robbie is just as stubborn. When writing songs for her doesn't work, he sends her tickets to a show at Wembley, along with a backstage pass. Eventually, Jenny relents and goes to see the show – and him.

Robbie's delighted to see Jenny again – but will he succeed in making her realise they should be together again? Only one way to find out…

This was an awesome read. It was great to find out more about characters within the same world as book one. They're equally likeable and there are plenty of damn hot sex scenes to be enjoyed! Another top read from Ms. Harlem. Book three awaits…

Six Sentence Sunday – 27/3/11

In honour of its release on Tuesday, I'm including a sexy six sentences from my story Nimble Fingers, which is featured in Ravenous Romance anthology, I Kissed A Girl II: More Virgin Lesbian Stories.

The place was packed. I listened to the band play with people singing and dancing all around me. They waved their arms, sloshing drinks everywhere and good-naturedly jostling one another. Despite all that, I felt like the only people in the room were the guitarist and I.

I watched those fingers glide up and down the fret board and wondered how they'd feel against my skin. Would there be calluses, dry skin perhaps, to chafe my most delicate parts?

eBook Review: Mattress Music by Lily Harlem

Mattress Music

I purposely didn't read the first book in this series until the final one came out. My reasoning was simple – I suspected that once I started the series, I wouldn't want to stop until it was finished. I was right. Mattress Music was such a good read that I barely managed to turn my Kindle off to write this review before starting book two.

Mattress Music is, I guess, what you'd call a long short story. It tells the story of Nina, a woman who is currently going through a bed-hopping phase which has suddenly become pretty 'blah.' Instead of getting smoking hot sex, she's lost her ability to orgasm. It probably doesn't help that she's moved to a new flat and the walls are so thin that she has to play 'mattress music' to mask the noises coming from her bedroom.

That is, until Ian comes along. Despite the fact they barely know each other, he knows something is up with Nina, and he won't rest until he finds out what it is. Soon, the pair find out they have more in common than they thought possible. But will Ian's secret make or break them? Only one way to find out…

Wow. Mattress Music was a totally fab read. It was spectacularly written, had a great pace and was damn hot! Like I say, it took all my willpower not to dive into the next book immediately. But now I've written this review, I can! Mirror Music, here I come! Seriously, though, for a hot quickie, Mattress Music is a must-have.

Product Lust: Sweet Streak Lace Overlay Corset

Sweet Streak Lace Overlay Corset

I was perusing Sextoys.co.uk's 'What's New' section this lunchtime and I stumbled across this. I fell instantly in lust – isn't it gorgeous?!

The Sweet Streak Lace Overlay Corset caught my eye in particular because it's suitable for larger ladies like myself; in fact it goes up to an XXL (which, according to their size guide is a 16). So it means you don't have to be skinny to look stunning in this! Yay! :)

Front fastening, it's beautiful, smart and sexy – definitely something you could team up with trousers, jeans or a skirt and head out for a night on the town. I thought the price was damn good too – I might just have to click that buy button… check it out.

I Kissed A Girl II - More Virgin Lesbian Stories

It's finally here! After what seems like forever, I Kissed A Girl II – More Virgin Lesbian Stories is now available! My story, Show Me Yours, appeared in the first volume of I Kissed A Girl and the book has done so well that editor, the lovely Regina Perry was asked to edit a second volume. I was lucky enough to have my story, Nimble Fingers, chosen for this anthology too!

Containing stories from Inara Lavey, Fifi Bernard, Kilt Kilpatrick, Farrah J. Phoenix, Jen Bluekissed, K. Ann Karlsson, Elizabeth Black, Angela Mazzone, Lara Zielinsky, Cheri Crystal, Alexandra Rowan and Regina Perry this book promises much. I've already got it loaded onto my Kindle and can't wait to get stuck in!

It's currently only available from Ravenous Romance and All Romance eBooks, but I'm sure it'll start filtering out to all the other online retailers soon. I can't wait to hear what you think!

Book Review: Naked Truths by Jo Carnegie

Jo Carnegie is a new-to-me author, but based on this romp I'll definitely be reading more! For saying it has a whopping 537 pages and several interweaving storylines, I still whizzed through it in a couple of days. The writing style is easy to follow and the pace is just right – fast enough to keep you avidly reading, but not so quick that you can't keep up with what's going on.

The action is based in two primary locations, the beautiful Cotswolds village of Churchminster, and London. The characters involved are all linked in one way or another which is why I think it was so easy to follow: the storylines are not completely separate. We follow the lives of newlyweds Caro and Benedict – a couple who move to London to be closer to Benedict's workplace. Caro's not happy at first, but soon realises that as long as her family are together, she's happy.

Saffron lives next door to Caro and Benedict in the exclusive Montague Mews. She lives with her aunt as she's estranged from her mother. She loves London life and all the parties and socialising that go with it. However, when she tags along with good friend Harriet to Churchminster, she realises that country life is not as boring as she'd been led to believe.

Saffron's boss, magazine editor Catherine Connor is a workaholic. She devotes her entire life to her job, with no social life (other than work-related parties), no family and no boyfriend. She's somewhat of an enigma. But when a blast from her past turns up, it hits home just how much Catherine has been hiding from her past by immersing herself in the present – and a bottle of wine.

Overall, this was a really gripping read. It's a fast-paced, sexy and smart chick lit with tons of action. I really enjoyed it. Recommended.

eBook Review: Eyes of Desire by Portia Da Costa

Another day, another delicious helping of smut from the fabulous Portia Da Costa. This isn't a new release, but she's so prolific that I'm having trouble keeping up!

Eyes of Desire is a short-ish story about a young woman called Megan. She's staying in a friend's country cottage whilst recovering from an eye operation.

Her vision is still not back to normal, so when a man enters the garden and seems to know his way around the place pretty well, Megan is confused. Because she can't fully trust her senses, and feels vulnerable, she's not sure whether he's a perfectly nice man, or some kind of psycho killer.

Despite her reservations, Megan finds herself attracted to the mysterious Guy. But is he all that he seems? Is he trustworthy? Megan decides to find out…

This is just a quickie read, but it definitely hits the spot. As usual, Portia Da Costa hasn't wasted a word and the result is a red-hot, yet very sweet story. Recommended.

DVD Review: Life As We Know It

As soon as I saw a trailer for this film, I really wanted to see it. I'm not much of a baby person but I just thought it looked fabulously funny. Luckily, I was right.

Life As We Know it stars Katherine Heigl as Holly and Josh Duhamel as Messer. Once upon a time their best friends tried to set them up on a date. It went hideously wrong and they've disliked each other ever since. Only having to put up with each other at get-togethers, they manage. That is until a tragedy leaves their goddaughter, Sophie, an orphan. Naturally, Holly and Messer are devastated at the loss of their friends, but they're also shocked to find out that the two of them have been named as joint guardians of the little girl.

Somehow, they've got to muddle through parenthood and living together; juggling their jobs and nappies while trying to keep Sophie's life as normal as possible. It makes for an absolutely hilarious film and one that I'd urge chick flick fans to watch. It's funny, but you'll also need tissues at times, so be warned!

It won't be making it onto  my top films of all time list, but it's definitely worth a watch.
