Totty Tuesday – Chris Hemsworth

Chris HemsworthWell, this week's Totty Tuesday was a complete no-brainer for me. In fact, I knew who it was going to be last Wednesday, as I sat in the cinema watching Thor. Otherwise known as *phwoar*.

Part of me thinks I don't need to say anything else and that I should just leave you in peace to stare at the photo. I know my eyes keep sneaking to the pic ;)

But just in case you have no idea who this guy is or what all the fuss is about, I'll give you the brief. That delicious man is Chris Hemsworth (only just under two years older than me, and a fellow Leo! See, a match made in heaven!), star of recently-released superhero/comic book hero movie Thor. Unsurprisingly, he plays Thor. Totty factor aside, if you're into the whole superhero/comic book thing, then it's a very good movie. Very entertaining and funny.

If, however, you don't give a shit, then I'd still recommend you see it for the totty factor. He's that hot. He plays the whole serious-manly-man thing really well, but when he smiles… well. Let's just say it's a good thing I was sitting down because I'd done the girly-fainting-thing if I hadn't been. *swoon*

Seriously. This guy is even hotter when he's walking and talking and those muscles are flexing.

OK, I'll shut up now. I wanna go see it again. But for those of you already converted, yay to The Avengers (which is packed full of totty!) and to the rumoured listing on his IMDB page, Snow White and the Huntsman. Oh god, please let that happen. Chris as the huntsman!? I'm there already.

And in case you're interested, I'm having to have a reshuffle of my top five hot blokes because of Mr. Hemsworth. He has completely rocked my world. Nom.

eBook Review: Thrill of the Night by Mina Carter

Thrill of the Night

Thrill of the Night is the first title I've read by Mina Carter. But if this is anything to go on, it certainly won't be my last.

Main character Gwen is working as a diner waitress and her life is pretty quiet until a mysterious customer walks in. He's young and as sexy as hell. Gwen scolds herself for even feeling that way about him, convinced she's too old and out of his league. But it doesn't work. Gwen thinks about him long after he's left.

On closing up, Gwen heads back to her room, only to discover something which brings her past hurtling back. A bloody handprint. Further investigation flings Gwen back into the path of the mystery customer – Jasen – and it quickly becomes apparent they have more in common than they first believed. And the sexual chemistry is explosive to boot.

This is a fairly short read, but it packs a lot in. There's very little preamble. You're thrown into the action and very shortly afterwards, the sex. But both of these things are brilliant. The storyline is intriguing and the sex smoking. I definitely want to find out what happens next!

eBook Review: Schooling by Sommer Marsden

Schooling

Sommer Marsden is an absolutely prolific author, and I really enjoy her work. Schooling is no exception. It tells the tale of David and Ellie. They've been married a long time, so long that they're just taking their daughter to college, with the plan of staying for parents' weekend.

They haven't been getting on particularly well of late; sniping at one another and arguing, and sex is definitely not on the menu. Not until parents' weekend, that is. Something happens to make the pair of them realise that they've got to do something to recapture the good parts of their marriage before they slip away altogether. And part it involves hot sex. And lots of it.

David and Ellie are quickly reminded of how good they are together, both in and out of the bedroom. They realise that all the reasons they fell in love in the first place are still there. They're still the same people, just twenty years older. And they love each other just as much as they once did – they'd just lost sight of it. Luckily, their eyes are well and truly opened.

Schooling is a brilliant read from Ms. Marsden. It's a beautiful blend of love, life and sex and shows that erotica doesn't have to be just about people in the first flushes of a relationship to be hot. A heart (and other places) warming tale.

Happy Monday!

Hi everyone! Well, it's not even lunchtime on a Monday and already it's shaping up to be an exciting week! After last week's holiday (tons of photos on Facebook for those who are interested) I'm now busily catching up on various things to do with my writing as well as doing client work. But this morning's excitement has been caused by the following:

A Bit of Rough

My first Noble Romance publication, A Bit of Rough, is now available! I'm really excited to be working with Noble who so far have been great. And, as you can see, they do great covers! *rawr* Find out more about A Bit of Rough here, or go directly to its page on Noble Romance and get your grubby hands on it. It's also on Goodreads, so don't forget to add it to your bookshelves!

Dream Lover: Paranormal Tales of Erotic Romance

Secondly, my author copy of Dream Lover: Paranormal Tales of Erotic Romance arrived! My first Cleis Press publication, edited by Kristina Wright. My story, Succubus Comes Home features with stories from greats such as Justine Elyot, Shanna Germain, Saskia Walker, Nikki Magennis and Kate Pearce to name but a few – so I'm incredibly excited and honoured to be a part of it. I can't wait to start reading! I believe it's widely available in the States already, but UK peeps will have to wait until later in the month, but you can pre-order on Amazon.

Now, where are my copies of Best of Both? *taps foot impatiently*

Happy Monday, everyone!

eBook Review: Playing with Prudence by Rachel Randall

Playing with Prudence

Playing with Prudence is a naughty read from Rachel Randall. It tells the story of Prudence, a married submissive. She and her husband regularly play kinky games with one another, and Edward is always looking for the next naughty thing they can get up to.

So when Edward's old friend Major Harry Sterling comes to stay, things really hot up. Harry's always had a thing for Prudence, and she feels the same. Edward's willing to let them fulfil their fantasy, but on his terms…

Wow – what a steamy read! Playing with Prudence is woven with eroticism from the word go and it doesn't let up. It's a very sexual story with twists and turns that you won't see coming. But one thing's guaranteed, you'll be feeling frisky as you read it! Good dirty fun from Ms. Randall!

eBook Review: Seven Day Loan by Tiffany Reisz

Seven Day Loan

Seven Day Loan is Tiffany Reisz's first release – and already she has a novel coming out later in the year. Having read this delicious Spice Brief, I can't say I'm surprised. Not one bit.

This naughty tale is about submissive Eleanor. She is trained to do whatever her master commands her. So when he decides to 'lend' her to a friend for a week, she must acquiesce.

The friend in question, Daniel, has been a recluse since his wife's death, and Eleanor's lover thinks spending time with her will help him to come 'back to life', as it were. Daniel also happens to be a Dom, therefore Eleanor's nature should be perfectly compatible with his.

Despite her initial misgivings, Eleanor warms to Daniel physically. However, she's determined that her heart should continue to belong to her mysterious lover. But as she and her temporary Dom spend more time together, Eleanor begins to wonder what life would be like with the enigmatic Daniel. Will she cancel the 'seven day loan' and become Daniel's indefinitely? Only one way to find out…

Seven Day Loan is a spectacular read. The writing is brilliant, the storyline fascinating, the characters deep and the sex dirty. My only complaint was that it ended – I could have happily whiled away many more hours with Daniel and Eleanor. Highly recommended.

eBook Review: Her Fantasy by Saskia Walker

Article first published as eBook Review: Her Fantasy by Saskia Walker on Blogcritics.

Her FantasyHer Fantasy is a short naughty read from Saskia Walker. It tells the tale of Anya Reid, a woman who is finally on a date with the co-worker she's fancied for ages. Things take a turn for the erotic when Warren asks her what her ultimate sexual fantasy is. A little taken aback, Anya's mind and libido whirl out of control and she's unsure how to answer. However, it appears that Warren already knows the answer and is perfectly willing to make it happen. And he does.

As Anya and Warren's erotic games become more risque, Anya has reason to be cautious. She's getting attached and wonders whether Warren wants her for her, or whether he's just in it for the games. She doesn't want it all to come crashing down around her ears, not now she's got Warren where she wants him.

Her Fantasy is another delicious quickie read from Saskia Walker. As per usual, I'm left wanting more – I think these two characters could have a very interesting story to tell! So if you're looking for a guaranteed steamy read, look no further. Saskia delivers the goods!

eBook Review: Black Cat Fever by Desiree Holt

Black Cat Fever

Black Cat Fever is a paranormal short story by Desiree Holt. It was released by Total-E-Bound as part of their special cat shapeshifter series late last year.

It tells the story of panther shifter Dea Russo. As the daughter of the last alpha, she alone holds the power to elect the next head of their pack. Naturally, she's sought after by many men, but she's determined to find her true mate, and he must be a pure panther.

Trouble is, she's got to be very patient, for the only night she can find her mate is Hallowe'en, an event which obviously only comes once a year. She's never even come close before, but Dea is determined that this year is going to be different, and it appears that fate is on her side this year. Kyle Donovan shows up and her body responds to him before they've even spoken. Dea's hopes rise at this reaction and everything seems to be going so well, until obsessive mixed breed outcast Dane Maguire tries to put a stop to their acquiantance and claim Dea as his own.

Will Kyle defend Dea to the death, despite not yet knowing if she's his true mate? Or will he allow her to walk away? Only one way to find out…

Black Cat Fever was a fab read. It was dark, delicious and erotic, and despite some slightly icky moments with animals doing the bad thing, I really enjoyed it. I would actually like to see this story continued – I'd love to see what happens next. If you love you a bit of paranormal, snag yourself this dirty short story pronto.

Book Review: Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger

Article first published as Book Review: Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger on Blogcritics.

Everyone Worth KnowingHaving read the book and watched the film of The Devil Wears Prada, I suspected that I'd be in for a good read with Everyone Worth Knowing. I wasn't wrong. This book is chick lit at its finest.

Everyone Worth Knowing tells the tale of Bette, a headstrong woman living in New York. Despite it never being her life's dream, she works in banking and hates every moment of it. One day, she decides she's had enough and leaves. Having no idea what to do next, circumstances and contacts suck her into another job – party planning.

With no experience, Bette has to learn quickly, at the same time ignoring the resentment her colleagues inevitably feel about her getting the job as a favour. However, she quickly proves herself and is soon planning the hottest and most exclusive parties in New York City.

Bette spends days planning parties and evenings attending them, leaving less and less time for her family and friends, let alone her non-existant love life. Soon, her job is her entire life. So when she's mistakenly linked with a notorious and hot British playboy, she can't understand it. She's even more confused when her boss and colleagues encourage it. Going along with it, deep down Bette knows that she's being used, but is too busy working to take much notice.

But when a vicious gossip columnist called Ellie Insider starts writing untrue and spiteful pieces about her, the harsh reality of her lifestyle hits her. Everyone is out for themselves in the crazy world of fashion and celebrity and if Bette gets sucked in any deeper, she's afraid she'll end up just like them. Then there's the tiny matter of a very real love interest that could be lost if Bette doesn't make some decisions… and fast.

Overall, I thought this was a fab book. It's an easy read and is absorbing enough that you'll whizz through it in no time. It's definitely more action-based than emotional, but I still found myself really liking Bette and rooting for her. If you've read anything else by her, or you enjoy books like Bridget Jones' Diary, Sex and the City, etc, you'll like this.

eBook Review: Yes Ma'am by Kay Jaybee

Article first published as eBook Review: Yes Ma'am by Kay Jaybee on Blogcritics.

Yes Ma'am

Yes Ma'am is the latest offering from the deliciously dirty mind of Kay Jaybee. It contains six tales of arse-spanking, wrist-binding, whip-wielding tales of female domination. Despite the fact they have a common theme and are penned by the same author, each story couldn't be more different.

Lying in Wait tells the story of an army recruit who gets much more than he bargained for on a night exercise.

Black is about a man so obsessed with a dominatrix that he begins to think he's sold his soul to the devil.

Dear Claire has two best friends sharing a man, though not in the way you'd think.

'Don't You, Emma?' takes a typical male fantasy and turns it completely on its head.

Not Taking the Tube means you will never think about Underground travel in quite the same way again.

Finally, Rachel's Twisted Tale adds a considerably more erotic twist to the story of Rapunzel.

Each story in this anthology is brilliantly written, deliciously twisted and very, very erotic. My particular favourite was Dear Claire, a piece so imaginative and sexy that my eyebrows almost disappeared into my hairline while I was reading it.

If you're not into power play and BDSM elements, then this won't be your cup of tea. Otherwise, get a copy of Yes Ma'am into your hot little hands and prepare for some seriously sexy stories that'll blow your mind (and other places). Recommended.
