Totty Tuesday – John Barrowman

John BarrowmanSo, I was looking for hot gay male celebrities for this week's Totty Tuesday and narrowed it down to John Barrowman. Just in case you're wondering why I was looking particularly for gay guys, it's because it is Gay Pride Month and I wanted to do something to mark it. And what better way than to give you gay eye candy to look at?

I'm sure most of you know who this guy is, but just in case you don't, he disappointed women the world over when they found out he was gay. He's famous for appearing in Doctor Who, Torchwood and Desperate Housewives to name but a few. He's also, from what I gather, a really very nice guy.

He looks particularly sexy in this photo, methinks, but feel free to hit Google Images, there's no shortage of hot pics there… and some of them are topless ;)

On another note, if you're looking for other ways to celebrate Gay Pride Month, why not check out some erotic fiction? I haven't penned any m/m stuff (yet), but you can find f/f stuff in Bite With Height, I Kissed A Girl, I Kissed A Girl II and Best of Both.

Bite With Height is Available Now!

Bite With HeightI am pleased and excited to announce that Bite With Height, my erotic romance story from Noble Romance, is available now!

This little tale was inspired by my first visit to Paris, last year. I was captivated by the Sacre-Coeur to the extent that it wormed its way into my head and demanded attention until I wrote about it. And this is the result. Here's the blurb:

When Meg spots a young woman alone in the Pigalle district of Paris at night, she's intrigued. She has to know her story and find out why she looks so sad and alone. After introducing herself, Meg realizes that she and Grace have a lot in common. But when they decide to go and grab a drink together, they discover a mutual love that could bond them forever.

I'm trying very hard not to add vampire-related innuendos in to this post – I hope you admire my restraint! So, anyway, if this book with the delicious cover (same cover artist as A Bit of Rough – she's ace, isn't she?!) piques your interest, then you can buy it here.

Also, don't forget to keep your eye on the sidebar – I'm still blogging here, there and everywhere so please come say hi! :)

Sex Toy Review: LifeStyles A:Muse Personal Pleasure Massager

LifeStyles A:Muse Personal Pleasure MassagerDespite its relatively innocent name, the LifeStyles A:Muse Personal Pleasure Massager is far from it. This is one sweet-looking purple toy which really packs a punch!

It has five vibration types, each with three speeds, so there's plenty to keep you busy right there! The A:Muse is great for playing with a partner, or alone. Its soft and smooth surface means that it's perfectly suitable for massage, and equally fun for use on your more intimate areas.

It's fairly quiet as vibrating toys go,  and only takes 2 x AAA batteries, which is amazing when you consider how powerful it is! It comes complete with a nice pouch, too.

Overall, I'd definitely say that the LifeStyles A:Muse Personal Pleasure Massager has more pluses than minuses – it's versatile, powerful and super-orgasmic.

In fact, the only downside is that it was really difficult to get the cover off in order to get the batteries in. I followed the instructions to the letter and still struggled, resorting to a pair of scissors in the end (please don't try this at home! ;) ). So make sure you put the batteries in the toy well in advance of being 'in the mood' and you'll be fine. Plus, the fun that's to be had definitely makes it worth the trouble!

So if you're looking for a new toy for your box and are tired of rabbits – this is perfect. Get yourself to Lovehoney and place your order pronto!

Book Review: Nice Girls, Naughty Sex by Jordan LaRousse and Samantha Sade (eds.)

Article first published as Book Review: Nice Girls, Naughty Sex, Edited by Jordan LaRousse and Samantha Sade on Blogcritics.

Nice Girls Naughty SexNice Girls, Naughty Sex is an erotic anthology put together and edited by Jordan LaRousse and Samantha Sade, the masterminds behind the brilliant erotic fiction and poetry site, Oysters and Chocolate.

It contains twenty naughty stories which, like the website, are divided into four sections; Vanilla (decadent romance and succulent trysts), Dirty Martini (stranger sex, fetishes, group sex, etc), Licorice Whips (domination and submission) and Oysters (lesbian and bi).

For this reason, the phrase 'something for everyone' definitely applies! There are tales of cops, prison guards, strangers, getting caught, marriage, affairs, tattoos, photographers, corsets and much more.

Jordan and Samantha have done a brilliant job selecting and editing these stories. Naturally, as you expect with multi-author anthologies, there were a couple that didn't float my boat, but the vast majority of these erotic tales were hot, hot, hot!

Stories that particularly stood out for me were:

Sommer Marsden's A Technicality, a bittersweet, heart-wrenching and yet smoking hot story of love, lust, loss and grief.

The totally scorching Behind Bars by Saranna DeWylde, a tale of two prison officers getting up no good on the job.

Heidi Champa's At a Standstill is a brilliant narrative of an everyday travel nightmare turning into something altogether more interesting.

Honeymoon Suite by Donna George Storey is unique, thrilling, fun and sexy. A lusty Sapphic tale not to be forgotten.

Jeremy Edwards' inimitable style shone through in his sweet lesbian story, Eastern Daylight Time. I loved the light, fun tone and innocent air in this sexy short.

Overall, I would say this is one book you should definitely be adding to your wishlist. There are stories for all tastes here, and each one is of an incredibly high standard. It's a great opportunity, too, to read some authors you may not have previously come across. I'd recommend this book wholeheartedly, and my copy's a definite keeper!

The Mythology Anthology Takes Shape!

For anyone that's been watching the blog with interest for more information on the mythology anthology that I'm putting together, your wait is over! I can't divulge all the details, but here's what I can tell you:

The title, thankfully, will obviously not be "mythology anthology," but Seducing the Myth. I have a fellow writer and friend to thank for that… you know who you are ;)

My mermaid story, which will be within the anthology, is called Down By The Pool.

The lovely Jackie Adshead has kindly consented to paint a picture which I'll be using as part of the cover design. We met up last week and chatted about various things, one of which was this cover. I'd previously sent her the first draft of my story so she could get an idea of what it was all about before we spoke. By the time I arrived at her house she'd got an idea in her head of what the area was like (as the story is based in a real place) and then I promptly burst her bubble by showing her the photos and YouTube videos (see those here) I took last time I was there. Poor Jackie was quite startled to find that the lovely tree lined pool she'd envisioned in her head was actually completely tree-less and in fact very bleak and barren (read her reaction here)! Luckily, she loves painting mermaids so she wasn't too disappointed ;) And I know I won't be… if you check out Jackie's website, you'll see why!

I can't release the table of contents just yet – though all authors have been notified. The editing process will begin very soon and when the project is further along, I'll be posting more details here.

In the meantime, check out the sidebar of my blog ——-> to see where I'm doing guest posts this month!

Southern Adventures – Sextoys.co.uk HQ

The SexToys WarehouseIt was a hellish two hour journey which eventually ended up with me arriving at Sextoys.co.uk HQ in Luton. I know some of you are now wondering what on earth this has to do with the south, but it's south for me! The reason I was heading to Sextoys.co.uk HQ is because the peeps there are interviewing various erotic writers (including K D Grace) to include on their fab website. I was asked, and in the spirit of doing things that scare and stretch me, I said yes.

I arrived at my destination feeling a little disgruntled and annoyed that I was a little late (due to roadworks and idiots crashing!), because I hate keeping people waiting. Luckily, when Cara and Ellie came down the stairs from their office to meet me, they didn't seem to mind. They were happy and smiley and I immediately felt better, though still nervous about the fact I was about to be plonked in front of a camera.

An initial technical hitch ended up with Cara and I wandering around the room talking random gibberish into the mics to make sure everything was working OK. Then we chatted more sensibly to one another while Ellie finalised her set up. Then the show was on the road!

The GirlsCara quizzed me on my writing, existing and new releases, working techniques, erotica recommendations and more. I answered her questions, all the while remembering not to look at the camera, to keep smiling and to stop saying 'erm' all the time! Later, Ellie assured me that they'd be able to edit some things out, so hopefully I'll come across as articulate at the very least. I heaved a sigh of relief when it was over (this is not a reflection on Cara and Ellie – I was terrified and hate being in front of a video camera), and Cara gave me a tour of the HQ, including their warehouses and offices, where I got to meet some of the other lovely people that keep the place running smoothly.

Journey aside, it was a fun experience and I didn't really want to leave as Cara and I were having a nice chat. Alas, I had places to go, people to see, etc… so my adventure was over and now I wait with baited breath to see the 'final cut.' I'll let you know as soon I do!

Thanks to Cara, Ellie and the guys at Sextoys.co.uk HQ for having me xxx

P.S. In other news, A Bit of Rough has now started rolling out to other eBook retailers, including All Romance eBooks and Amazon. Check out the book page for an up to date list of retailers.

eBook Review: Enchanted Submission by Lily Harlem

Enchanted Submission

As a fan of erotica, fairy tales and Lily Harlem, I knew I had to read this release from Xcite Books.

Enchanted Submission is all about Cinderella's hen party (or bachelorette party/bridal shower for you US peeps). Cinders, Rapunzel, Tinkerbell and friends are off out for the evening to go and find some fun.

The girls head to a club with a difference, where Rapunzel aims to get virginal Cinderella hooked up with someone who'll give her a sexual education before she gets married to Prince Charming, who is apparently, not so charming in the bedroom.

Rapunzel's also desperate to get her hands on the recently divorced Beast. As a frequent dominatrix, she's ready to surrender control, and she's heard that Beast is the perfect man to do it with.

The action soon hots up as Rapunzel gets her wish of some kinky fun, and Cinderella is given a taste of erotic fun she'll never forget.

Enchanted Submission is typical Lily Harlem – fun, naughty, sexy and brilliantly written. If you're looking for some tongue-in-cheek erotica with a difference, look no further.

eBook Review: The Pet Shop by K D Grace

Article first published as eBook Review: The Pet Shop by K.D. Grace on Blogcritics.

The Pet Shop

The Pet Shop is the second novel from K D Grace. Her first, The Initiation of Ms Holly was released to critical acclaim and gained her the title of 'best-selling author'. Having read this book, I can see it going the same way.

The Pet Shop is the story of workaholic Stella James. She loves her job and works ridiculous hours, which naturally leaves little time for a social life, let alone a sex life. A throwaway comment in the office results in a gift from the big boss that will change her life forever.

Her present, far from being the gift vouchers she expected, is a pet. A human pet. Tino arrives from The Pet Shop complete with a mischievous grin and an erection. To begin with, Stella is completely taken aback and has no idea how to react. But after Tino is left in her care for the weekend, she starts to understand the attraction – both of keeping pets and being one.

Not long afterwards, another male appears in Stella's life. Reclusive philanthropist Vincent Evanston is powerful, rich and gorgeous. And he just happens to bear a striking resemblance to Tino. A chance encounter in a forest leads Stella to believe that Vincent and Tino are one and the same. But as Tino can't talk and Vincent won't, she's left guessing.

Stella becomes increasingly obsessed with both men and will stop at nothing until she gets the answers she craves. But when she's got to the bottom of the mystery, will she like what she finds?

The Pet Shop is unlike anything I've ever read before. I'm not going to give anything away, but let's just say the plot is incredibly clever and imaginative and you'll be totally sucked into the world K D Grace has created. The sex is smoking hot, the storyline intriguing, and the whole thing is so brilliantly written that you'll emerge from the end gasping for breath. This book is a whirlwind of fun and naughtiness perfect for erotica fans.

Totty Tuesday: Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Heh. I totally picked this photo so you could have a 'perv on one get two free' kind of a deal. How nice am I? Sooo… to the uninitiated, Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays John Winchester in my fav show Supernatural, which is where this delicious photo comes from. However, I actually thought he was hot pre-my Supernatural viewing. I liked him in P.S. I Love You (which I know was filmed after Supernatural, but I saw it before!) and The Accidental Husband.

Scarily, he's old enough to be my dad but whether he's being all mean and moody or happy go lucky, I kinda don't care. I still would ;)

The Lovehoney Rabbit Amnesty is Back with a Bountiful Hop into 2011

UK peeps – never know what to do with your old or broken sex toys? Lovehoney is here to save the day!

*****

Lovehoney's Rabbit Amnesty is back with a bountiful hop into 2011 and it's bigger and better than ever before.

Your conscience can be cleared with Lovehoney's sex toy recycling scheme which encourages consumers to send in their bruised and battered rabbit vibrators, other sex toys (as long as they vibrate) or electrical appliances to be recycled. In return Lovehoney will reward customers with Oh! Points, which can be redeemed against new toys exclusively at Lovehoney.co.uk, and donate 50p for each item sent in to The World Land Trust.

Since its launch in 2007, Rabbit Amnesty has recycled over 2 tonnes of sex toys, that's a whopping 4475 rabbits and other items, meaning a happier environment and continued pleasure for Lovehoney customers. The scheme offers consumers a clean, green way to dispose of their redundant rabbit vibrators.

After taking the Rabbit Amnesty Pledge, rabbit owners can send their outdated and overused rabbit vibrators, sex toys, or electrical appliances Lovehoney and in return receive Oh! Points which can be spent on sex toys, sexy lingerie or essentials at Lovehoney. The process is simple – the more you recycle, the more Oh! Points we'll give you.

"Rabbit Amnesty is a unique way for rabbit lovers to enjoy cleaner, greener orgasms," says Lovehoney head buyer Bonny Hall. "By sending an old rabbit to Lovehoney, customers not only get the satisfaction of having it recycled – without the inconvenience or embarrassment of taking a used sex toy to a local council rubbish dump – they can also get rewarded with Oh! Points"

"Although some people might think its strange to recycle sex toys, rabbit sales are growing every year and we don't want old ones dumped in landfill sites across the country, says Hall.
