New Release: I Kissed A Girl II – More Virgin Lesbian Stories

I Kissed A Girl II - More Virgin Lesbian Stories

It's finally here! After what seems like forever, I Kissed A Girl II – More Virgin Lesbian Stories is now available! My story, Show Me Yours, appeared in the first volume of I Kissed A Girl and the book has done so well that editor, the lovely Regina Perry was asked to edit a second volume. I was lucky enough to have my story, Nimble Fingers, chosen for this anthology too!

Containing stories from Inara Lavey, Fifi Bernard, Kilt Kilpatrick, Farrah J. Phoenix, Jen Bluekissed, K. Ann Karlsson, Elizabeth Black, Angela Mazzone, Lara Zielinsky, Cheri Crystal, Alexandra Rowan and Regina Perry this book promises much. I've already got it loaded onto my Kindle and can't wait to get stuck in!

It's currently only available from Ravenous Romance and All Romance eBooks, but I'm sure it'll start filtering out to all the other online retailers soon. I can't wait to hear what you think!

Book Review: Naked Truths by Jo Carnegie

Jo Carnegie is a new-to-me author, but based on this romp I'll definitely be reading more! For saying it has a whopping 537 pages and several interweaving storylines, I still whizzed through it in a couple of days. The writing style is easy to follow and the pace is just right – fast enough to keep you avidly reading, but not so quick that you can't keep up with what's going on.

The action is based in two primary locations, the beautiful Cotswolds village of Churchminster, and London. The characters involved are all linked in one way or another which is why I think it was so easy to follow: the storylines are not completely separate. We follow the lives of newlyweds Caro and Benedict – a couple who move to London to be closer to Benedict's workplace. Caro's not happy at first, but soon realises that as long as her family are together, she's happy.

Saffron lives next door to Caro and Benedict in the exclusive Montague Mews. She lives with her aunt as she's estranged from her mother. She loves London life and all the parties and socialising that go with it. However, when she tags along with good friend Harriet to Churchminster, she realises that country life is not as boring as she'd been led to believe.

Saffron's boss, magazine editor Catherine Connor is a workaholic. She devotes her entire life to her job, with no social life (other than work-related parties), no family and no boyfriend. She's somewhat of an enigma. But when a blast from her past turns up, it hits home just how much Catherine has been hiding from her past by immersing herself in the present – and a bottle of wine.

Overall, this was a really gripping read. It's a fast-paced, sexy and smart chick lit with tons of action. I really enjoyed it. Recommended.

eBook Review: Eyes of Desire by Portia Da Costa

Another day, another delicious helping of smut from the fabulous Portia Da Costa. This isn't a new release, but she's so prolific that I'm having trouble keeping up!

Eyes of Desire is a short-ish story about a young woman called Megan. She's staying in a friend's country cottage whilst recovering from an eye operation.

Her vision is still not back to normal, so when a man enters the garden and seems to know his way around the place pretty well, Megan is confused. Because she can't fully trust her senses, and feels vulnerable, she's not sure whether he's a perfectly nice man, or some kind of psycho killer.

Despite her reservations, Megan finds herself attracted to the mysterious Guy. But is he all that he seems? Is he trustworthy? Megan decides to find out…

This is just a quickie read, but it definitely hits the spot. As usual, Portia Da Costa hasn't wasted a word and the result is a red-hot, yet very sweet story. Recommended.

DVD Review: Life As We Know It

As soon as I saw a trailer for this film, I really wanted to see it. I'm not much of a baby person but I just thought it looked fabulously funny. Luckily, I was right.

Life As We Know it stars Katherine Heigl as Holly and Josh Duhamel as Messer. Once upon a time their best friends tried to set them up on a date. It went hideously wrong and they've disliked each other ever since. Only having to put up with each other at get-togethers, they manage. That is until a tragedy leaves their goddaughter, Sophie, an orphan. Naturally, Holly and Messer are devastated at the loss of their friends, but they're also shocked to find out that the two of them have been named as joint guardians of the little girl.

Somehow, they've got to muddle through parenthood and living together; juggling their jobs and nappies while trying to keep Sophie's life as normal as possible. It makes for an absolutely hilarious film and one that I'd urge chick flick fans to watch. It's funny, but you'll also need tissues at times, so be warned!

It won't be making it onto  my top films of all time list, but it's definitely worth a watch.

Six Sentence Sunday – 20/3/11

Since there was so many favourable comments last week, I thought I'd be nice and let you see what happens next in Sofa, So Good.

He stroked a palm over his pyjama-covered erection, and grinned.

"But… aren't you mad?" Kristin asked.

Dan looked at his wife, who'd now curled her knees up to her chest in an effort to cover up, and said, "Are you going to leave me for Shayna?"

Kristin looked confused for a second, then shook her head.

"No. I'm not even a lesbian. We were just…"

Smutty Friends

As some of you are probably already aware, I have a good friend that's an erotic artist. Luckily, she lives close by so we actually get to meet face-to-face as well as exchanging emails. Sometimes, we don't see each other for a while as life gets in the way, so when we meet up we always have lots to talk about. Usually, it's smut. And when we met last night, there was no exception. Smut chat was most definitely on the menu.

In the past, Jackie and I have created works based on each other's work, i.e. I've written stories inspired by her paintings or drawings, and vice versa. It's always nice to chat with a fellow creative person, especially since with her being an artist, she's got a slightly different perspective to her work than I have – but we agree on so much, too! Things like not getting turned on by our own work – we agreed that as we're so close to it, it's work. Work we enjoy – yes – but work nonetheless.

So, while we chatted lots about various naughty things, we did also chat about work-related stuff. As I'm starting to receive submissions in for my mythology anthology, it's definitely at the forefront of my mind and therefore cover design has been niggling at my brain. So I had a thought; why not get Jackie to paint or draw something for the front cover!? She doesn't just do erotic art, she does more 'vanilla' stuff too, as well as lots of cool mythology-related stuff (including an awesome painting which I have hanging in this very room). I can't believe I hadn't thought of it before! So we batted some ideas around and there's a good chance it'll come to fruition – particularly as Jackie's a fan of painting mermaids, and the story I plan to write is about a mermaid!

I've also been trying to persuade her to exhibit some of her works at the wonderful Sh! Women's Erotic Emporiums in London. After I told her a little more about them, she started to get a very thoughtful look on her face… so watch this space ;)

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Jonathan Rhys Meyers

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY to those of you that celebrate it! And to those of you that don't, well, enjoy the onslaught of photos of hot Irish guys that have been invading the internet today – I certainly am.

Normally, JRM doesn't do a damn thing for me but when Google produced this photo, well, let's just say I may have changed my mind. Also, previous Irish-themed Totty Tuesdays that may interest you: Stuart Townsend and Aidan Turner.

eBook Review: Cuffed and Dangerous by Bronwyn Green

This is my first ever read from Bronwyn Green, but it sure as hell won't be my last!

Cuffed and Dangerous is action-packed from the very start, where we're introduced to bounty hunter, Wrenn Saunders. She's a strong woman who will use whatever tactics are necessary to bag her quarry.

She certainly catches the eye of shifters, Jude Caulfield and Gideon Wells, in any case. However, Wrenn gives the men the cold shoulder from the off – she knows what they are and she has a deep-rooted problem with shifters that won't easily be solved.

However, the boys get the chance to get into her good graces when the bounty she's currently hunting gives her trouble. Jude and Gideon step in to help her before things get nasty. The fight goes in their favour, but still Wrenn can't wait to be on her way. She is desperate to get away from the two men, but not for the reason she first thought. She's horrified to find she's attracted to them – both of them. Given her past, nobody is more surprised than Wrenn.

Soon, her conscience gets the better of her and Wrenn decides to give the boys a cut of her pay. She feels it's what they deserve, particularly as she hadn't been very nice to them when they'd helped her. Trouble is, the visit doesn't go quite as planned and Wrenn ends up being stuck in the house with Jude and Gideon while a wild storm rages overhead. Against Wrenn's better judgement, soon emotions and hormones are raging too.

Can Wrenn get over her past and accept that not all shifters are the same? Or will she give up a chance of happiness? Only one way to find out…

Cuffed and Dangerous is a top read. It's sexy, sultry and action-packed. And I defy you (well, girls anyway!) not to fancy either Jude or Gideon – or both. The sex scenes are extremely hot, the storyline is unique and I would totally like to read more about these characters. More, please, Ms. Green! More!
