They’re Here! :D by Mandy Rosko
So my two boxes of books came in. One of them was just under 30 pounds, which was crazy, but they are here and I am loving them.
I’m also learning that the ribbon I bought to wrap them won’t be enough to make nice little bows on as many books as I thought. About four books can be tied with each spool of ribbon, which sucks a little since the Valentine’s ribbon is pretty and has sparkly hearts, and I think it would really fit with my first Patron Book. Romance and all

The Dead Musicians Paranormal-Scope
May their music be resplendent in heaven! I remember BB King. I was at one of his concerts and he said, “It’s my birthday, so I’m going to keep on playing.” What an amazing concert. Now Chuck Berry has gone to join the band.
While I am not qualified in any way to read neither stars nor planets, I am intimately linked to the paranormal in the world in many ways. So are you.
The paranormal-scope is for entertainment purposes only and is not meant to guide your life by.
The week for:
Aries:
Elvis sang about the child. It’s time to look at life with childlike wonder and enjoy your world more.
Taurus:
Chuck Berry’s songs are food for thought. Don’t believe everything you hear. Trust those that are closest to you.
Gemini:
David Bowie was “The Man Who Fell to Earth.” He was looking for something. So are you. It’s time to focus and realize your dream.
Cancer:
Do you remember when Michael Jackson sang “Man in the Mirror?” You have the power to make a big change in your life. Get organized and do it.
Leo:
John Lennon wrote a song called “Stand by Me.” When you go through a tough time, you will be surprised how many will stand by you.
Virgo:
Leonard Cohen wrote “Hallelujah,” and others wrote different lyrics to fit their lives. It’s time to write your own tune, your own words. You are in charge of your life.
Libra:
Frank Sinatra sang a song “The Best is Yet to Come.” This is true for you. You have some happy times coming your way.
Scorpio:
“U Got the Look” was sung by Prince. You really do have the look. Perhaps add a bit of splash to your wardrobe, but dress up more and really shine.
Sagittarius:
Debbie Reynold’s sang “You Are My Lucky Star” with Gene Kelly. You are entering a lucky time for you. Enjoy it.
Capricorn:
Natalie Cole sang “Route 66.” Travel may be in the stars for you. Pack now and make sure your passport is up-to-date.
Aquarius:
“Our Day Will Come” sang by Amy Winehouse is about having something special come your way. Your day will come.
Pisces:
Selena sang “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.” Someone new is coming into your life. Be prepared.

Bob’s Your Uncle! An interview with UK author RM Walker. By Ripley Proserpina
Have you ever read a book where the character pops off the page, stands next to you and whispers in your ear? Where you completely forget the character is actually a character, and not alive? RM Walker, a new author who hails from England, is this sort of writer. In recent months, I’ve had the pleasure of reading her stories, and making new friends with her characters. I recently begged RM to answer questions about her first widely published book, Lily. Enjoy her answers which are full of lovely Britishisms. In fact, make sure you’re drinking tea while you read, and remember to lift those pinkies:)
Q: This is your first book, and you dove right into the deep end! It’s both reverse harem and a paranormal romance. What made you want to write a book in these genres?
A: I’ve always hated love triangles. It’s too much for my poor heart, so I’ve been writing stories for myself where the girl hasn’t had to choose for a long time. I just didn’t know that it had a name until recently.

My Sexy Saturday Heroic Hero Blog Hop: When Love Survives by Susan Hanniford Crowley
This was a tough one as each of my heroes in my books are heroic. I think I got a little [image error]confused with the directions of whether the hero has to be sexy while being heroic. I think being heroic is sexy. As for saving the day–on some days things are so horrible that you save as many as you can.
When Love Survives is about Sept. 11th. Gregor is a financial advisor in the World Trade Center and he hates the office coffee, so he’s making a coffee and donut run. He’s also a shapeshifter and there’s a saying that a shifter recognizes their lifemate at first sight.
Regina is a college student studying finance, and she is late for the first day of her internship at a brokerage house in the World Trade Center. She doesn’t know she’s magic.
There in the street outside the coffee shop stood his lifemate. He had to act in the moment or lose her forever.
What I love about these two and the story overall is the entire story is about heroes. Here’s a peek into these two unusual supernatural rescue workers.
*
“Tell my little boy . . .” Then he died. He was gone, so quickly, Reggie had no time
to react.
An ambulance crew carrying a stretcher rushed her way.
She squeezed his hand. Just like a battery, Reggie threw her energy into him.
His body jolted, and everyone jumped. He coughed. Then his eyes opened.
“You stay alive for your little boy. You stay alive,” she urged.
The man looked up at her, as the paramedics put him on the stretcher and carried
him away. Everyone left with him except for Gregor, who narrowed his eyes at her.
Reggie had only gone two steps before everything got blurry. Her legs gave way. She
tumbled to the ground like a ragdoll. The world slipped away.
Gregor picked her up. She knew it was him by his strength and his warm, deep
voice. “Reggie, stay with me.” It felt so warm being cradled in his arms. She could
barely hear him. Then she heard Mike’s voice—something about going home. Gregor
was walking.

Release Week! by Stacy Hoff
Release day is here! Well, almost here—this Wednesday (3/22/17) is only a few days away. BETTING ON LOVE IN VEGAS, the first book of my BUILDING LOVE series, will finally be released! Yea!
I feel like I just birthed my fifth baby! With two more “babies” on the way. Book two, BUILDING LOVE IN THE CARIBBEAN, is waiting for it’s October, 2017 release. Book three, however, is still “en utero.”
Perhaps there is no better way to celebrate a book launch than to keep on writing more books. I’m hard at work at wrapping up this series that is—to you, my readers—just beginning.
I hope my new series goes well. Pre-orders are already available, so we’ll see! Wish me luck!!!!
Book blurb for BUILDING LOVE IN VEGAS
Catherine “Cat” Warner has problems. The profits from her inns are down. The pressure from her parents is up. Her love life is non-existent. But Cat did manage to get the attention of tough, powerful, gorgeous hotel magnate Ty Orland. Unfortunately, his interest in her is for all the wrong reasons. Instead of wanting Cat, this debonair CEO only wants her land—a parcel he desperately needs for his next big development deal. Too bad, it’s not for sale. A people pleaser by nature, Cat knows to stand strong. If she caves in to the demands of this sexy, alluring man, it will be her own neck on the line.
Ty Orland has a lot of things going for him. Success. Power. Respect. Unfortunately, he’s also got an old chip on his shoulder and a new financial nightmare. His development deal is going down in flames—and fast. His only way out is if Cat sells him her strategically located parcel. But romancing the land from her is not easy when love gets in the way. The woman is as beautiful as she is beguiling. And Ty no longer knows which prize is more valuable.

No Shortcuts
A couple days ago, my kids and I watched Trolls, the latest family hit from Dreamworks. This isn’t the first or second or third time we’ve seen this movie-nope, this movie is already pretty well etched into our brains.
If you haven’t seen this movie, I’ll try not to ruin it. I’ll just share the premise in that it is about these adorable creatures called trolls who are nothing but happy all the time. Then there are these not so cute creatures called bergens who are never happy and as such, they believe they must eat trolls in order to experience happiness. The movie keeps us wondering whether this is true or not, and each time I watch it I can’t help but marvel at how symbolic it is of us humans and our desires for quick fixes.
We have pills for weightloss, drinks for energy, creams for beauty and teas for cleansing. We aren’t sure what really works but we hope they all do even if for a short while. Ideally, they work quickly and that is what is most important, isn’t it?
As far as the trolls and the bergens, you’ll just have to watch the movie to see what actually happens and whether happiness really can be in what or who they eat. For us, I think we’ll always strive for our fixes. Perhaps if we are lucky, we will grow wise enough to realize that anything worth attaining is worth working for.
Happy writing this week!

Found Spelling Errors in Printed Books by Mandy Rosko
And I don’t think it needs much explaining that the printed book in question is my own
God, it was almost enough to drive me to drink. The first one I spotted was just a tiny one, one so small and was missed by a couple of different beta readers that, although annoyed with myself, I was somewhat okay with it and was willing to wait a bit before fixing it. After all I’ve seen tiny errors in books printed by big publishers.
Then the other error was found. And it wasn’t a small spelling mistake. It was a whole sentence that was in there. The sort where you could tell I was going off on one thought and then went on another in a way that made no grammatical sense.
And it was on the second page.
Right, even I need to let that sink in. It was on the 2ND PAGE!! GAH!!
So mad at myself, and the worst part about it was that it looked familiar. I’m pretty sure one of the ladies who helped to beta read it pointed the error out. I’d thought I’d removed it, but I guess I didn’t and got stuck with one of my slip ups

Zombies Run Amok Paranormal-Scope
Life is getting stormy. For some quite literary. Prepare. Lay in supplies. Keep safe. For those in the coming blizzard zone, I’ll be right there with you.
While I am not qualified in any way to read neither stars nor planets, I am intimately linked to the paranormal in the world in many ways. So are you.
The paranormal-scope is for entertainment purposes only and is not meant to guide your life by.
The week for:
Aries:
Not being burdened with excess words, zombies are reflective and contemplative about life. Keep a journal of your travels and who you meet. Write down your everyday insights.
Taurus:
Zombies ravage out of desperation and despair. Don’t get to that point. Get help when you need it.
Gemini:
Being on an endless quest without satisfaction seems the zombie’s lot. It’s time to take stock of your life and make a list of everything you’re proud of and what makes you happy.
Cancer:
Zombies avoid sick people like the plague. They just don’t look yummy. Take care of yourself. Eat healthy and get rest.
Leo:
Exercise is key as every zombie knows. That’s why they walk so much.
Virgo:
Follow your own drummer. Not every zombie follows the crowd. It’s time to follow your bliss.
Libra:
One zombie is always in front leading the others. Did he or she eat more brains than the others? Do you have want it takes to lead?
Scorpio:
Cupcakes stops a zombie in its tracks. Why? It’s the divine construction of textures-cake and frosting. Make or buy some cupcakes!
Sagittarius:
Do you know what happens, if you give a zombie a cookie? You have to give them a brain. Be aware that in business, some people want everything and aren’t willing to settle.
Capricorn:
Zombies are attracted to stop signs. We think it’s the yellow. It’s been blamed for zombie traffic jams. Be careful in intersections this week.
Aquarius:
One excellent trait of zombies are their persistence. Take a lesson here. To achieve your dream, don’t give up.
Pisces:
Zombies are easily distracted by loud noises or anything shiny. Don’t let distractions keep you from your goal. Stay focused.

Starting a New Book Be Like… By Ripley Proserpina
In Tarot, there’s a card called The Wheel of Fortune, it reflects the cyclic nature of things. For every end, there is a beginning, and all that. On Tuesday, I released a book, the second in the six book series, called The Searchers. All the while I’ve been preparing for Finding Valor’s release, I’ve been writing the third book.
There was no breath in between writing, no resting on my butt.
Still, I absolutely love it. Writing isn’t like homework. There are some similarities. Like with homework, it’s waiting for me when I’m done my day job. There’s a deadline, a due date, and I turn in my work to be graded (aka edited) when it’s finished. And I always, always want an A plus.
But there’s where the similarity ends. I don’t dread writing, like I used to with homework. I write on Sundays, and it doesn’t ruin the day. Yes, I have the deadline, but the deadline means it’s the end of the book. Which means I get to see how it ends, and I generally only have a vague idea of the ending when I start.
I don’t have a title for my WIP, I just call it by the character’s name— Matisse. Because I’m loving discovering who this guy is, and what makes him tick, I wanted to share a bit here. Hope everyone has a fantastic week! ~ Ripley
Ryan followed her into the living room where she collapsed onto the sofa. “Does Matisse race motorcycles?” It was better to just come out with it.
His head jerked back, eyes widening in surprise. “How— Who—”
“He does.” She knew it. It explained the late nights. Sleeping all day. It fit Matisse, a guy who risked his neck to climb a tree and serenade his girlfriend after he offended her. “Did he race last night? Was he arrested with everyone else?”

A 38th Wedding Anniversary
Yesterday was my 38th Wedding Anniversary! What did we do? Well, there was a snowstorm, so we went to the movies. Doesn’t everyone? Giggles.
We saw the new King Kong – Kong: Skull Island! I’ve never been into Kong myself feeling it more like a guy movie, but I wanted to go for him. Isn’t it always the way, ladies? We do lots of things just because the guy in our life wants them.
This new movie massively surprised me. Yes, there are still all the elements that appeal to the guys but so much more. It was a fun movie, and I loved the characters. I have to confess my favorite was John C. Reilly, who played the WWII airman that had crash landed on the island. The movie starts as the war in Vietnam is ending. John Goodman represents a company that wants to explore this uncharted island, but he’s going to need a military escort. That tell you something right there.
I loved a lot of things about this movie and don’t want to spoil it for you. The actors were great, the effects wonderful, and this giant ape was the best Kong ever. I never cared for the others at all. There were serious and yet funny moments which is rare for “monster” films. I especially loved that it wasn’t just the same old Kong movie, if you go, you’ll know exactly what I mean.
On our anniversary, my husband and I wanted to see a fun movie, and this is fun. I give it 5 stars of fun! I’d give my husband 5 stars too. Giggles.
