HALLOWEEN KINDNESS

GOBLIN STEW

Before your little goblins dig into their Halloween candy get something healthy into their tummies. From  Healthy Holidays:

 

GOBLIN STEW

1 and 1/2 pounds organic ground turkey or Gimme Lean soy sausage

1 and 1/2 cups chopped organic onions

3 Tablespoons olive oil (plus 2 T optional)

3 crushed organic garlic cloves

2 Tablespoons chili powder (or more to taste)

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 (28 ounce) can organic crushed tomatoes

1 (28 ounce) can organic whole tomatoes

2 (15 ounce) cans organic kidney beans, drained

1 (28 ounce) package frozen organic corn

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the turkey or soy sausage (if using sausage add the optional 2 T. of oil). In a large soup pot saute the onion in the 3 T. of oil until translucent. Add the garlic and cook a minute more. Drain the fat from the turkey or soy meat and and too the onion mixture. Lower the heat and add the seasonings, tomatoes, beans and corn. Stir well, cover and simmer for 1/2 hour or until it thickens.

This is from our last class which was an EXCELLENT study on the Law of Attraction.  Thank you so much Marilu and Coach Linda!   We learn so much in our classes and there isn’t ANY aspect of our lives that doesn’t get attention.  We’re all about TOTAL health here at Marilu.com.

The Holiday Season….HEAD START!

This is the best time to get a head start on the holiday season.  We know that some of you have already begun shopping.  (Back in January for some of you maniacs!!)  You know that as the end of the year approaches there will be holiday parties, social events, more shopping and entertaining.  Why not take a few minutes this weekend to get out ahead of the holiday rush and put some things in place to make this year more enjoyable?

 

If you have room in your home to set up a gift wrap station you could do that now.  Put a small table in a guest room and put the scissors, tape, wrapping paper and tags nearby.  Wrap those gifts as you bring them home.  Don’t worry.  There will still be presents to wrap as it gets closer to the season and you can listen to music, sip (dairy free) hot chocolate and get into the spirit, but with less pressure to conquer mounds of presents in a short span of time.
