While protesting against the ANC's proposed harsh media legislation, the Democratic Alliance (DA) Party blacklists Ana Majavu, a journalist from the Sowetan because she used to work for a trade union . SANEF states "The action is also incongruous with the DA's stated support for media freedom, as shown by its vocal
opposition to the proposed draconian statutory media appeals tribunal and attempts to stem the free flow of
information through the Protection of Information Bill."

Based on the Oscar nominated and Bafta award winning film "The King's Speech", cartoon show Zuma delivering his State of Nation address. The film is a chronicle of King George VI's effort to overcome his nervous stammer with the assistance of speech therapist. Like King George, Jacob Zuma struggles to deliver the speech. Unlike the King's speech, it is full of promises that are unlikely to be fulfilled.

He had to conquer his clunky delivery...

... and thats nothing compared to delivering on all those damn promises

President Jacob Zuma will give his third State of the Nation. He is widely expected to focus on the economy and the government's ambitious target of creating five million jobs by 2020. Zapiro's cartoon takes a look from another angle especially after 'the heaven and hell' remarks from the previous week
