Another SABC CEO runs to the bank laughing

Benjamin Franklin said 'In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes'. Zapiro has added another one. Focus of today's cartoon is the SABC chief Solly Mokoetle stepping down and getting a fat pay out exactly like the others before him.

Social media - Revolutionary weapon of the underdog?

President of Tunisia is 'overthrown' in the 'Jasmin revolution' with the help of social media. In power since 1987, dictotorial Zine El Abidine Ben Ali steps down on the 14th January 2011. Demonstrations and riots start when a student publicly commits suicide. The masses are unhappy about corruption and lack of freedom of speech. Poor living conditions, unemployment and food inflation also contribute. While none of it was reported in the Tunisian press and TV, information spread via sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
