Thursday Night Write!

My first order of business tonight it to give you some VERY exciting news!

My publisher, Little Brown, has decided to grace the Prophecy covers with a whole new look! The paperback cover for Prophecy of the Sisters AND the cover for Guardian of the Gate will both be revealed next Wednesday, March 3rd, at 10am on the Prophecy of the Sisters community site. I've seen the covers, and all I can say is they are GORGEOUS and I can't wait to share them with you guys. You have to go look next week...

Inspiration and Friendship

I've been fortunate to know a few people who have been truly wonderful to me this past year.

But I have a confession to make.

I'm always reluctant to say anything, because the people in question actually mean something to me, and I never want them to feel like I'm using them for publicity. The truth is, I'm a terrible schmoozer. I suck at sucking up and I suck at doing things for people with the idea that they're going to do something for me in return. And sometimes, honestly, I wish I were...

Open Mic – Thursday Night Write

I had so much fun reading your pieces from last week's prompt! They were all wildly original and wonderful and thought-provoking.

I think it was nice to mix it up a little, so from now on, I'm going to call my Thursday post Thursday Night Writes and mix it up between writing prompts for Flash Fiction, our beloved Open Mic, and anything else writing-related that sounds fun.

I love the interaction we have going here and continue to be amazed at how warm and encrouraging you are to one another...

Your Next Clue…

I know this is a Lord of the Rings clip, but there are three, count 'em, THREE clues for Guardian of the Gate in this clip.

I promise!

Plus, who doesn't just love these movies?

Wanna Play?

In lieu of Open Mic this week, I decided to see if you guys wanted to play a little Flash Fiction.

Flash Fiction is a great way to keep your writing brain in shape. It forces you to work fast, to streamline your story, and to let instinct be your guide. Most of all, it's FUN! There are no rules! You can create a poem, a Short-Short, part of a script, or use it to start a new book or take your characters someplace totally different. It's really, really cool to see how many different stories...

Totally Inappropriate

Which sometimes makes for the best kind of dress!

Seriously, though. This is not at all period or fashionably appropriate for Prophecy's era, but how gorgeous is that blueeee? Sheesh. THIS is a dress, right?

You can see more in Bizarre Boudoir's Etsy store!

Sigh.

On another note, I have something TOTALLY different for you Thursday in lieu of Open Mic (and yes, it IS interactive AND writing-related like Open Mic! *teases*), and next week, we're going to have fun casting the Prophecy movie! So...
