This is one of my all-time favorite songs. I connect with the lyrics on so many levels, and even though I hate that they have to remove the swear words to put it on YouTube (because with something like this, the language, in my opinion, isn't gratuitous but an authentic, artistic reflection of the message), it's still awesome. And the video's incredible, too.

Hope you find meaning in it, too.

And hey! Don't hate on the rap!

:D

Thursday Night Write

Time for another edition of Thursday Night Write!! But first, a couple quick notes.

Author Melissa Walker just featured the Prophecy and Guardian covers on her Cover Stories feature, so if you're looking for all the dirt on how and why the cover change came about, take a look!

And speaking of covers, the Prophecy paperback and Guardian of the Gate covers are up official-like on Amazon, B&N, and Borders.com. They are GORGEOUS, if I do say so myself, and I'm super excited to see them out in the w...

A Love Letter to the Page

Dear Notebook, Blank Computer Screen, Empty Page,

I realized today that you have been my dearest friend. Come now! Don't protest! It's true.

While I am blessed to have a few close friends, many lovely, caring acquaintances, and family members who attempt to accept, if not completely understand me, you have been the constant in my life.

As a child and teenager, I could always count on you to take me away. I found solace in your silence. You didn't preach or lecture. You didn't tell me I was too y...

Blogging the Blogosphere

Lately, I've noticed a lot of muttering about the blogosphere. It seems everyone, everywhere is discussing the online writing community.

I'm not immune. I realized the other day that it's been almost exactly a year since I became a consistent presence online, and I can't help thinking how much has changed in that time. A year ago, authors, bloggers, and readers were exclaiming over the number of new writing-related blogs, and yet it seems like they just keep coming, along with more and more...
