Tegan and Sara, The Princess Bride, and Dying Young
First an apology! I haven't had even a minute to look at last week's Thursday Night Write entries, but I'll really try to get to them this week. I'm under a self-imposed deadline to finish revising my new book so it can go back to my agent and am also lining up some awesome giveaways for you guys. It's all very time-consuming – but fun!!
Also, I have two amazing guest commentators coming to Thursday Night Write in June, starting with the incredibly talented Saundra Mitchell, author of the...

Friday Poll; Choose Your Companion on a Deserted Island
In keeping with the recent tradition of our light-hearted Friday polls, I ask you this;
Who is the hottest of the hot among young, male actors today? More specifically, if you had to choose between Ian Somerlander, Paul Wesley, Channing Tatum, Chace Crawford, and Tom Sturridge to accompany you on a deserted island, who would be the lucky guy?
I, of course, have no opinion. As a 40-year-old woman, that would just be… wrong.
And even though my polls ARE anonymous, I will definitely NOT be...

Thursday Night Write – Prompt
Welcome to another edition of Thursday Night Write! With everything that's going on in the Gulf right now, I have water on the brain (and all the people and animals who are suffering because of this disaster).
The prompt is at left and the rules are simple; give yourself no more than 30 minutes to write something – anything! – inspired by this photo. Then, post 300 words or less of it for comment. Don't forget to comment at least one other entry if you post one of your own because we are all a...

Friday Poll; Hot Date or Vampire Diaries?
Today's Friday poll is about something I know we all care deeply about;
What's more compelling, a hot date or a great TV show?
Now, you have to understand that this is kind of a non-question for me because A) I don't watch TV, and B) I'd do just about anything for a hot date right now.
But still! I'm curious! With season finale's this week for shows like Lost, Vampire Diaries, and Gray's Anatomy (or so I've heard) plus the breakout success of shows like Glee, would you guys give up a hot date...

Thursday Night Write – Open Mic
I hope you guys don't mind, but I'm going to do another Open Mic this week instead of a prompt.
I've been so busy that I haven't had time to find you an inspiring pic!
I did finally catch up on all of the entries from last week, so if I hadn't replied to yours, check now. It should be there!
Rules are simple; post your excerpt of no more than 300 words for comment, and comment at least one other post. See? That was easy!
In other news, the podcast I did with Kenneth and Rebekah last Saturday...

Your Next Guardian of the Gate Clue
Behold your next clue for Guardian of the Gate! Scary, isn't it?
This is an amazing piece by designer, sculpture, and effects artist extraordinaire, Miles Teves. Miles has worked as a sculpture, concept artist, and illustrator on productions like Pirates of the Caribbean, Season of the Witch (the release date was delayed on this one, but you guys probably remember me putting up the trailer a few months ago as a film I was super excited to see), Spiderwick (also exciting because I'm such a...

Gorgeous Gowns Anyone?
I'm missing a photo for this week's Anonymous Teen reader, so I'm going to push that interview back and give you some gorgeous gowns instead!
I've posted about BizzarreBoudoir here before because the clothing is just stunning. Nikki is the Etsy shop owner, and she makes custom gowns, corsets, and other Gothic/Victorian-ish accouterments. I have to be honest, I could stare at them for hours (and the black bloomers in her store are TOO sexy/adorable!)!
I love this grouping and the concept that...

Coldplay & Echo and the Bunnymen; Lips Like Sugar
I have two versions of Lips Like Sugar for you this Saturday night, the original by Echo and the Bunnymen (one of my favorite 80′s bands) and a pretty awesome cover by Coldplay.
Happy Saturday, guys!
