Shine on You Crazy Diamond

Some say Adam Kadmon, the primordial man, was an androgynous being made from crystal. But when Adam Kadmon tried to emanate and create in the way that the Divine did, it fell. Some say there were 2 falls of man then, the first fall of the androgynous, crystalline being and the 2nd fall in Eden. Some say that it was not the woman who was taken from the man, but that the perfect androgynous being was split in half to make man and woman. Therefore, our goal to achieve perfection is to reach a state of spiritual androgyny by the study of alchemy.

I’ve been meditating and praying with the Crystal Mandala Oracle by Alana Fairchild and I saw Adam Kadmon made out of diamonds when I drew the diamond mandal card. The dazzling being appeared in my meditation on the card and visualizing a person made from diamonds, the jewel for the #sephiroth of #kether, was unlike anything I had ever imagined. No wonder some angels were jealous!

I wanted to capture the vision of the glittering primordial human, pull it out of the ethereal and see it in our world. so I pulled out my Vogue Magazine collection and cut out pictures of diamonds and crystal jewlery by Swarovski , Prada and Dolce and Gabbana (to name a few) to create what a being made of crystals and diamonds may looked like. And ironically Etro did a spread that looked like a mod Eden so I made a collage from that too beside my collage of Adam Kadmon.

The more I worked, the more the sparkling vision of the primordial man became and the more my awareness of my own raw potential grew stronger.

Another thing I discovered is making a collage can be a form of meditation for me. But come to think of it, I guess producing most art is a form of meditation because an artist takes a vision from the inside and pulls it into our world in what feels sometimes like an act of magick. Acts of creativity are a kind of co-creation with the Divine and an expression of the Divine spark in us all.

So shine on your crazy diamond. We are all just carbon based beings, line diamonds, with limitless potential.

Magdalena Tarot Book Review: Powerful JuJu by Najah Lightfoot

I just finished #GoodJuju by @najahlightfoot (a LOVELY and magickal read) and am working through #PowerfulJuju. Powerful Juju is a wonderful book that uses music to help the seeker connect with goddesses. I like recommending songs to read my work to too so this book speaks to and inspires me.

I’ve been experiencing a call to reinvent myself so I’ve been doing a lot of journaling and meditating. This chapter spoke to me about reclaiming my power and has inspired me to work with #Sekhmet in my search for what this idea means to me.

One way I’ve started doing this is by making prints of my #indietarotcards available for purchase. I’d like to try to get into some art shows so the print experimentation starts here.

I worked with #Bastet to help me give Tarot readings to people at the 2022 Witches’ Ball, but I learned a lot about Sekhmet when researching what goddess I wanted to work with for witches’ ball. So in a way, I’m picking up where I left off.

Magdalena Tarot Updates

It’s been a while! How are you? Beltane Blessings! Spring is in it’s peak and there are flowers blooming everywhere. This is the time of year when I feel inspired to try new things.

I’ve been working hard at writing horoscopes for OUT FRONT Magazine since I left Magdalena Tarot Magazine. Writing horoscopes is a lot of work but I’ve learned so much about astrology! Chag Pesach Sameach!

Every year I get together with my Colorado family for a Passover seder. Our group sounds like a joke, but we are a Jewish person, a Jewish convert, an Indigenous person and a Jewish-ish Arabic person (and a cat). But the most important part is that we spend the evening together and draw strength from this ancient ceremony to confront challenges in our lives and look towards the future with hope that one day, everyone will be free.

When Nanael is Afoot

Every morning I do a daily devotional. I read the motivational quote from my calendar, read from my Unity Temple devotionals, I look at the astrology for the day, and I draw an angel card, learn about the angel and meditate on the name of God that accompanies the angel, tuning into the power to co-create with God. Sometimes I scan a page from the Zohar in Hebrew too.

When I draw an angel card daily, I welcome the opportunity for a visitation, Nanael visited me for the 3rd time in a month today (2nd time in 10 days). I was surprised They came by again. I felt inspired to dive into angelology studies because Nanael helps bring inspiration to overcome great feats. My job requires me to hold on the line during calls so in my holding times, I put the pieces together about what I was being asked to do.

I wasn’t sure why Nanael’s was visiting so often but I felt I was being called to evoke Them and agreed to do it. The name of God to use with Nanael in Kabbalah is “No Agenda”. And I didn’t have one because I had no idea why I was being asked to do this, I just knew the presence was needed and They let me know They needed help so I lent a helping hand.

I found the sigil and the invocation (in Cabalah) so I traced the sigil in yellow on tracing paper and made plans to evoke with the names Adonai, Shemhamphorae, Nanael between 5:20 PM and 5:40 today (the proper timing). The instructed Pslam to use is Pslam 119 v. 75. To destroy the sigil, I chose Nanael’s element, water, and planned to destroy through submersion.

How it all came together

Nanel’s attribute is “God who brings down the proud.” I found it strange but I know angels are a do it now ask later kind if crowd so I accepted the task.

It got weird when I was talking to my managers after a hard day and the quote came up randomly “Never disrespect anyone. Pride comes before a Thunderous fall.” It was the meaning of Nanael’s name. Again, they were making Their presence known.

Right after I ended my call with my managers, I heard Trump got indicted.

I thought, “Nanael is afoot. It looks really bad for Trump if the angel of destroying the proud is coming for his ass. That’s like … Old Testament BAD.” In fact, the whole story of Trump reminds me of something from the Old Testament.

I had to work late and got off at 5:15 today. My dear friend, Amanda, was coming over for a walk so I quickly grabbed all my tools I needed for my ritual: frankincense, cauldron, coals, tongs, water vessel, ceremonial candles and candle sticks, matches, filtered water, sigil, lapislazul and my grimoire.

I washed my hands and drank some water.

Amanda arrived as I was about to start.

I let her in and she and I headed to the library where I was performing my ritual.

I ground up the frankincense, lit my coal, sprinkled the increase on it, lit the candles, called the directions, intoned the names and destroyed the sigil by submerging it in water. Then I took the water to the park.

City Park is always magical. A group of musicians were setting up to play music. It looked like jazz or classical. One of them had a trumpet. Earlier, as the request for the ritual was becoming clear in my mind, I thought the card of Nanael showed the angel holding a trumpet. I found it a bit eerie.

Amanda and I walked past the back of the zoo and noticed elephants!

We stopped for a meditation by the lake and sat down at a bench dedicated to 2 dear friends, Jean and Betsy. It felt special to sit there with my dear friend as I prepared to complete the destruction of the sigil.

I opened myself to the energy of Nanael. I sat with the connection, then dumped the water used to destroy the sigil and the biodegradable remains of the sigil into the water. Just then, a joyfully trumpet blast sounded across the lake. The musicians were playing jazz. The breeze blew. It was a beautiful moment.

I cried because I knew I was in the presence of an angel. The trumpet blast was confirmation that thy will had been done. My actions gave the angel a firmer footing on earth to do what it came here to do. I thought about the Torah again.

I knew all is right in the world and it is a very bad day to be Donald Trump — and anyone who is proud and mighty — because Nanael is afoot.

Amanda and I parted ways. I had dinner and found out another prediction I had made came true. It shook my foundation in my personal life but I thought back to my ritual and the magick of the evening and felt in my soul that I will be provided for.

So mote it be.

Clearing clutter clears energy

Now that I’ve successfully learned to manage my time better, I’m tackling getting rid of junk and clutter that piled up over the past year. I’ve planned to use my PTO to take a 3 day weekend once a month and scheduled days off in advance. I’m spreading tasks out over several days instead of packing everthing I need to do into the weekend at my parttime jobs. I’m also refusing to work overtime I don’t get paid for at one of my part time jobs too. I’m literally getting back on my feet after an intense surgery so getting organized has been a task. During most of 2023, I was living in chaos because I was working overtime I wasn’t getting paid for while I was trying to “earn my keep” at a part time job. I was also sick and injured for half of the year and my partner was having health problems too so I was using PTO to take time to heal which sucked. I felt like I was drowning because I was stretched so thin and my health was terrible. It was really stressful and overwhelming and it took reading I’m Happy My Mom Died during surgery recovery to admit I needed to go back to therapy. It was a good move though. I connected with a great therapist who got me in touch with a business/financial coach. Both my therapist and my coach helped me figure out that learning time management skills would help elevate some of the stress. Now I’m actively applying these skills and I feel things are balancing out. So now that I’m moving out of that chaotic time, it’s onto throwing things out and making quarters habitable again because I had too mych on my plate to do it before. My goals over the next 3 months are: get my etsy studio running and create a comfortable work area for writing 2 new books.

I welcome a clear channel for creative energy to flow in 2023 by getting rid of junk and clutter I no longer need
