Kickstarter Rewards Sent!
Hi Everyone!
Another exciting milestone just occurred! I sent all of my backers their rewards! If you supported me at the $25 level, I am still waiting for the book of short stories to be approved by the platform I’m using to publish it. However, to hold you over, I sent you PDFs of the storyboards and the script as a “thank you for your patience”.
I’ve really enjoyed the process of the Kickstarter and I’ve enjoyed keeping everyone involved in my art as it manifests.
Thank you so much for backing me. This is only the beginning.

Short Story Compilation on the Way

I never thought I would self-publish anything. But when I launched my Kickstarter to convert my novel, Where There is No Night, into a graphic novel, I made a collection of short stories the reward for backing me at the $25 level. And when my Kickstarter succeeded, I was suddenly faced with the real task of self-publication. So here I am. And here you are, reading my work.
This is a collection of short stories, poems and artwork that were completed over the course of 4 years. Patched together, these works tell the story of my journey from unwillingly being set free from a loveless engagement in 2017 to rebuilding my life as a creative. Some of these stories are based on the truth with names, people and places rearranged. Some of these stories are pure fiction. But all contain feelings I’ve felt in my heart because feelings, above all, are the soul of art.
You will find a wide variety of stories ranging from horror to comedy to erotica to personal narrative to mystical and sometimes a combination of several genres in this compilation. You will also find photos I’ve modeled for, public domain works of art I copied and original poetry and photography. I see this work as a sort of “best of the best” collection since this creativity pours through me and I couldn’t stop it even if I tried.
There are several people I’d like to thank because without them, this book would not be possible. First of all, I’d like to thank all of my Kickstarter backers for believing in my art. This book would literally not have happened if you didn’t believe in my dream of creating a graphic novel. So thank you: The Creative Fund by Backerkit, Uyen Nguyen, Brian Schlosser, Seth Osmun, CJ Marsicano, Lucretia Moore, Seth Thomas, Tomoko, Laurie Stark, Jessica Faye, Eve, Jesse Livingston, an anonymous backer and my mother, Deborah Davis.
Next, I would like to thank Amanda E.K., the editor and chief of Suspect Press, a local Denver literary magazine and all my classmates in her drop-in writing class. Amanda and all of my classmates (a.k.a. my muses) really pushed me to believe in myself and take my writing to the next level. The tremendous support gave me the strength I needed to achieve my goal of running a successful Kickstarter. They’ve been at the finish line cheering after long, writing marathons and encouraged me to never give up. So thank you, thank you, thank you!
Life is a mystical experience and the vein runs throughout this entire work. So thank you to Sara Long of Bellawillow Photography, who captured me at my witchiest. Her featured photos include The Magician, the cover for “Glam·our”and Beltane.
I’ve used works that are copyright free for the visual art in this compilation. The works that do not belong completely to me are in the public domain. The cover of “Bring in the Clowns” and “How Little Red became the Huntress” as well as There’s a Place in France were all copied from the works of Charles Gesmer, a 1920s fashion designer for the dancers of Moulin Rouge. The piece VVTCHS is a copied work of Alphonse Mucha.
I would also like to thank Linda Anderson, owner of Salvage Design Center in Denver, Co. for helping me amass a large collection of vintage and antique photos that made the cover collage possible.
Lastly, I’d like to thank D. who had his hand, either directly or in inspiration, in the creation of these short stories and Patrick Almeida, who encouraged my poetry writing through critique partner exchange.
And of course, dear reader, I’d like to thank you for giving me a chance to weave tales about the mystery of the human existence the workings of the human heart for you. Our paths crossed for a reason.

Thoughts on Where There is No Night Being Fully Funded on Kickstarter
So yeah, major milestone met. I got the money from my Kickstarter today. This is kind of a big woah wow wow wow this is happening kind of thing for me. I think where we are historically and astrologically makes this a very, very good time for this story to manifest in 2D.
I’m also working on a compilation of short stories as part of Kickstarter rewards. I will also be selling this compilation to anyone who is curious about my writing since I talk about it but rarely share since reading has become a lost past time. I’m happy to have Matt Aragon – Shafi as my CP and anyone else who wants to beta read new material I’m polishing is more than welcome to.
As I go through the material that I wrote in Amanda EK‘s writing class, I’m actually pretty surprised at the volume of material I have to be polished. But the good news is it’s a doable task.
When I die, my family will have stacks of writing and hard drives full of writing, art, poetry and pictures to go through … I create constantly, I don’t know how to stop and I’ve always been this way.
So 2020 is off to an interesting start. I have a lot going for me right now and the only person who can slow me down is myself. I’ve been here before but this time, self sabotage i s not an option because I have people invested in my art.
