Magdalena Tarot Magazine Call for Submissions

Where There is No Night coming to Magdalena Magazine

Sex, drugs, music and the Apocalypse. In 2035, angels and demons face off to win control of the last days. Their weapons of choice: music and magic.
 
Darius Seifer, son of the Devil and heavy metal king has it all: fame, fortune, beautiful women and a drug empire. But the only thing he really wants is for the international pop sensation, Arella Briaut, to fall in love with him.
 
When he finally meets Arella in Tokyo, he invites her to an underground club because he wants her to perform with him. What he doesn’t tell her is that he also plans to drug her in hopes that she will fall for him while she’s under the influence.
 
However, Arella has a secret of her own.  She is actually Archangel Gabriel and she’s been sent by Heaven to ask Darius to reject his role as the Anti-Christ. She hopes he will agree to a peace treaty and abdicate. If he doesn’t, she’ll have to kill him.
 
Plans on both sides go awry and soon the wrath of the Apocalypse is released upon the earth. Arella and Darius form a bond in the midst of the chaos and become unlikely allies.
But Heaven and Hell both reject their allegiance. Friends quickly become foes as Judgement Day draws near. Now it’s up to the Romeo and Juliet of above and below to show each side that peace is possible or die trying.
 
ABOUT THE PROJECT: THE LAST MOMENTS BEFORE DUSK is complete at approximately 95,000 words. It is the first book in the mystical drama, WHERE THERE IS NO NIGHT. The story is like Supernatural meets Sailor Moon directed by David Lynch.  This work received 4 rewrite and  resubmits from four different, midsize publishers. This story was scouted by several agents, including an agent with the notable Bent Agency. 
 
After years of trying to figure out how to make this sell, I was  told by a writing group of award winning Colorado writers that it should be a graphic novel. I played with the idea but could never afford an artist. Then I started story boarding and I came up with something dynamic. It is based on themes found in mystical Qabbalah, Masonic lore, and Rosicrucian principals. Enshrined in it is a deep symbolic message about the return of the goddess.  
 
Let’s watch the world end together.
 
Risks and challenges
 
This is a huge undertaking because it’s so expensive to hire an independent artist. I launched a successful Kickstarter for a pitch but ran out of money because commissioning the character designs turned out to be a lot more costly than I thought it would. But I’m OK with investing more money because I’m giving someone a job that can draw images that I can’t. It means a lot to me to put the first brick in the foundation of my dream to be a patron of the arts while bringing my story to life. An original Tarot card will be featured in each chapter of Magdalena Magazine to accompany the current chapter of the book. If you would like to start a collection of cards, they will be available for individual purchase for a limited time.

Launching Magdalena Magazine

Hi Everyone! 

This week I have a new video to share with you along with another big announcement! 

First, I mentioned that I was going to start teaching some very basic astrology when I relaunched. This week, you’re in for a treat because I’m kicking off my first astrology lesson in this new video! In this video I teach you how to build an astrology clock so that you can follow the planets through the zodiac with me. Don’t miss this week’s video!

It seems like these big announcements just keep coming. The relaunch of Magdalena Tarot has helped me see how innovative I can be. I decided that it would be interesting to expand on the idea of “all Magdalena Tarot content in one place” and launch a magazine that contains all of my content from the past month from my newsletter plus bonuses. 

So please put the launch date for the first issue of Magdalena Magazine, “The Fool” on your calendar: April 21, 2021. Each following monthly issue will be released on the day the zodiac turns. Each issue of Magdalena Magazine will include the full text lessons for the previous month’s Tarot card, art and writing featured in the weekly newsletter plus exclusives.

I’ve also decided to serialize my novel, Where There is No Night: The Last Moments before Dusk, in Magdalena Magazine. Each issue will contain a chapter from my novel along with an original tarot card based on the chapter. I am commissioning an artist to draw the pictures and I will be the colorist. The novel itself and the cards are very graphic so please be advised that this publication is NSFW! If you are sensitive to graphic content, there will be a warning before the excerpt so you can stop reading before we get into the series. 

Magdalena Magazine is completely free, but if you want a jump start on the lessons, or if you’d like to tip me for my work (I’m paying a graphic designer to do the layout and hiring an artist to do exclusive artwork), you can buy the current month’s lesson on Etsy which will be up to speed with what we’re studying in real time. I will also be selling advertisement space in each issue as well as taking submissions if you want to get your work out there in the metaphysical community! 

Magdalena Magazine will be available for download from Amazon and also on www.magdalenatarotinc.com . My preference is that you please download the magazine from Amazon to help me reach a bigger audience. And leaving reviews really helps too! 

Spring has certainly come to Magdalena Tarot with lots of new beginnings. I hope you’re having a beautiful spring (or fall depending on your hemisphere) and looking forward to sharing more exclusive Tarot, writing and art with you!

Magdalena Tarot Relaunch

Hi everyone!

After a much-needed step back from Magdalena Tarot, I’m relaunching my brand with some new ideas and exciting surprises.

First off, I’m going to start teaching Tarot through Bob Ross inspired YouTube videos. And boy, getting the ring light for the project was a big, big, big pain in the ass which is I why I put off announcing the relaunch.

I’m also going to start teaching Astrology through YouTube videos by Alanna L.P. This inspiration came from a trance state in which I was gifted the inspiration to make an astrology clock. I see the cosmos as a clock with interchanging parts now. I spent a couple of years working with it and it blew my understanding of astrology wide open. I had a few students who listened to my lectures as I studied the clock and what it was telling me about the energies abound. I feel comfortable with this method of intuitively reading the stars. I’m not going to get into angles or minor transits, but we will be take a wide lensed view of those wacky planets. Again, lighting is really what kept me from launching this idea because I’ve had it forever.

The Astrology videos won’t be a regular thing; it will only be when a planet or planets move into a different zodiac sign or when a planet stations retrograde or direct. But I think it will help some people get a better understanding of what is going on in the cosmos. Again, full videos will be uploaded to YouTube and shorter snibbits will be shared across platforms. 

Magdalena Tower is still a thing. I kept my private Tarot reading clients through my restructuring process and I went back online selling vintage and antiques. I launched a few T-shirt designs and I’ve gotten good feedback from just wearing them around town so I may relaunch those on Etsy.

I’m planning to also offer a PDF copy of my 1st book on Etsy. It’s  currently available on Amazon but I’m going t o put it in my Etsy shop to increase my chances of it being read because Amazon has swallowed my audience whole. Read the introduction from my book Life: It’s Just a Phase below.

I’m currently working on a second book of short stories that will be *completely free*. It will be magical realism based in COVID times. I don’t have a release date for that but it’s a work in progress.
