Six Sentence Sunday with Wanted #1

It's Six Sentence Sunday! I thought I would share my western/historical, WANTED with y'all today.

In this scene: JoBeth is part of Shane Maverick's outlaw gang and the authorities know Shane will come for her, but the authorities decide to hide her away in a small lumber town in the care of Sheriff Jace Kelly, while they devise a plan to capture him.

Now here's the six:

Dark rings shadowed her eyes, making Jace wonder when she had last slept, but beneath the grime and the fatigue, JoBeth Maverick might be a handsome woman. Dangerous, too—he reminded himself. She robbed stagecoaches for a living.

"Are you done staring, Sheriff?" Her voice was a smooth drawl, the words rolling off her tongue in accusation. One lovely, dark brow arched on her forehead and her eyes narrowed to green slits.

I hope you enjoyed the six. :)

If you'd like to participate with the Six Sentence Sunday here's what to do:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published

2) pick six sentences

3) post ‘em on Sunday

Six Sentence Sunday, The Devil’s Wolf #4

It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 4th tidbit from my Historical Romance, The Devil's Wolf.

Short Blurb: When Archie Maxwell is accused falsely of killing a Johnstone, his brother, Waylon, known as the Devil's Wolf, sets out to save him. His bargaining tool is the Johnstone's daughter, Catrione. He plans to ransom her for his brother's release, but once he lays eyes on her, his plans take another turn.

In this scene: Waylon has no intentions of falling for his wife's charms, but he finds he's intrigued by her and wants to know her better. Hmm...Do you think he truly stands a chance? Now for the six....

(Catrione)She looked at him, with those turbulent green eyes. He hadn't noticed before how they were framed with dark, thick lashes that were so long they curled back.

"I was supposed to marry for love." Her voice caught and she took a deep breath, obviously wishing she hadn't revealed her secret. She tried to pull away once more, but he wouldn't let her go.

"Love is for fools. Mi'lady, ye are too cunning for such a fantasy."

I hope you enjoyed the six. :)

Six Sentence Sunday, The Devil’s Wolf #3

It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 3rd tidbit from my Historical Romance, The Devil's Wolf.

In this scene: Catrione is married to her hated enemy, Waylon. She will not fall in love with this man, but damn it if the man doesn't know how to kiss. Now for the six....

Waylon's lips slid over her mouth, silencing the words that threatened to escape. His lips, tongue, and devil hands clouded her mind. She groaned with want as her breast pushed against the palm of his hand, his thumb and forefinger capturing the tight burning peak. A tiny moan caught in her throat. His hand moved aside her torn garment, trailing his burning touch between her legs.

She whimpered into his mouth and damn him if she didn't feel his lips curve.

I hope you enjoyed the six. :)

Six Sentence Sunday The Devil’s Wolf #2

It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 2nd tidbit from my Historical Romance, The Devil's Wolf.

In this scene, Catrione Catrione has been captured by Waylon and is being held prisoner at his stronghold. She expects the worse... Well maybe in truth it is.

"Should I lay my head over a chair so that you may cut it off swiftly or should I just bow before you and let you do your business?"

It took Waylon a second to realize what the woman babbled about, but when it became clear, a slow smile spread across his face. "My dear lady, what I have planned for ye is far worse than death." She didn't flinch but stood there tall and regal, ready to accept her fate. Hmm, impressive; she further surprised him. "Ye my dear, will become my wife this day."

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. See you again next Sunday!

His bargaining tool is the Johnstone's daughter, Catrione. He plans to ransom her for his brother's release, but once he lays eyes on her, his plans take another turn.

In this scene, Waylon has been sword fighting with a lad, who refuses to surrender, but he is in for a big surprise. He removes the helmet which hid the lad's face. Waves of dark tresses come tumbling out.

Enjoy the Six!

"By all that is holy, are ye mad?" He yanked her to her feet. His gaze took in the length of her and he reprimanded himself for being so blind. Every curve stood out now that he knew the truth. He pursed his lips together. "The lady Catrione, I presume?"

Six Sentence Sunday Magic of the Loch #8

It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the eighth tidbit from my upcoming release (August 2012) with The Wild Rose Press: Magic of the Loch.

Location: Drumnadrochit Scotland, which lies at the head of Urquhart Bay on Loch Ness and is the focal point for interest in the Loch Ness Monster.

In this scene: Michaela just spent an afternoon with Alan.

Later that evening, Michaela sat down on her bed and looked through the pictures on her digital camera. She paused when she came to the one of

Alan and smiled. His eyes the color of blue flames were framed by dark thick lashes. With all their beauty, sadness still shadowed them. “Who are you, Alan?”

Other than the facts that he loved Elvis songs, the nature of the loch and his pets, she knew nothing of the man and yet each touch, each caress urged her closer and closer to him.
