Six Sentence Sunday #1

I'm excited to participate with Six Sentence Sunday! This tidbit is from my upcoming release (August 2012) with The Wild Rose Press: Magic of the Loch. This scene takes place in Fiddler's Luck, Drumnadrochit Scotland, which lies at the head of Urquhart Bay on Loch Ness and is the focal point for interest in the Loch Ness Monster.

This is Alan and Michaela's first kiss.

SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY #1:

"Just a taste. Aye?" His seductive whisper stroked over her mouth with the effect of a soft kiss. His hand slipped to the nape of her neck, drawing her closer as he deepened the caress. Heat spread through her, warming her from the inside out. He tasted of the sea, whiskey and sweet temptation. The more she indulged, the more she wanted.

Shamrocks, Three and Blessings for Thee

[image error]The first reference to the written word Shamrock can be traced back to 1571. In 1707, it was written in Irish as seamrog.

Numbers played an important role in Celtic symbolism and three was considered a magical number.

Love, Valour and Wit.

Faith, Hope and Charity.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Hence the Shamrock.

Three also signified totality as in:

Past, Present, Future.

Behind, Before, Here.

Sky, Earth and Underworld.

Eveything good or bad comes in threes.

The rhythm for story-telling in Ireland is told in threefold repetition. Of course, this will help to exaggerate a story by adding the third adjective to stretch the point of the tale.

Irish Blessing:
