Six Sentence Sunday: An Echo in Time #2

It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 2nd tidbit from my WIP, An Echo In Time (formally titled The Stone of Destiny). After chatting with my editor we decided on the new title. What do you think? The story will be feature in the "Twist of Time" anthology.

http://www.kmnbooks.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/TwistofTime150.jpg In this scene: A docent convinces Kendra to kiss the Blarney Stone and make a wish. When she sits up, the docent is gone and 15th century man sits beside her.

And now the six...

A mixture of astonishment and compassion filled his eyes that were the color of storm clouds.

“You look so real.” The moment she said the words, the enchantment broke. His features shimmered like ripples in a pond.

His hand reached for her. “Stay with me,” he pleaded, his voice raw with emotion.

Now for the SIX. In this scene: Kendra has traveled in time to the 14th century and is greeted by less than questionable characters. Just when she thought she couldn't escaped, her hero shows up, but I'll let him introduce himself.

Six Sentence:

“Cian Laidir of the MacCarthys at yer service.” The man bowed with over exaggerated flare before his lethal gaze sought his adversary. “But I am afraid it is ye who will see the fiery pits of hell this day.”

His look alone oozed with authority and raw power. Dougal was a fool to mess with this guy, but who was she to argue. Go Cian

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek of my upcoming tale, An Echo in Time.  So...do you think Cian can take Dougal?

Michaela and Alan vow to take what time has to offer, but another threat looms. A sinister shape shifter with a vendetta against Alan is making Loch Ness his personal hunting ground. Now he’s threatening Michaela. Alan must discover who the shifter is and stop him before it’s too late.

Excerpt:
His touch felt so good, warm and gentle for such a large man. She found herself leaning into his palm. Kiss me. The thought whispered in her mind, but he somehow knew what she craved.
He took her mug from her hand and placed it on the table next to his as he leaned forward, his lips hovering over hers.“Just a taste. Aye?” His seductive whisper stroked over her mouth with the effect of a soft kiss. His hand slipped to the nape of her neck, drawing her closer as he deepened the caress.

Heat spread through her, warming her from the inside out. He tasted of the sea, whiskey and sweet temptation. The more she indulged, the more she wanted. The thick beat of awareness ran through her blood, making her heart beat faster. Her hands cupped his face. His five o’clock shadow barely prickled her palm.
The kiss ended if only to take a breath, but he didn’t move away. His lips still hovered near hers as if to reclaim them again.
“I knew you’d be a good kisser.” Her voice a hoarse whisper, laced her words like an invitation for more.
His lips slid into a seductive curve. “Did ye now?”
She nodded, still a little breathless.
“This was a mistake, ye know.”
“It was?” She tried to move away, but he held her still.
“Shush. I only meant it was a mistake on my part to indulge with a promise of only one taste. I want so much more.” His mouth covered hers again, taking her under his spell.WELL THAT'S ALL FOR NOW. I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL WEEK!!

TAKE CARE,

KAREN

Six Sentence Sunday: The Stone of Destiny (New title: An Echo In Time)

It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 1st tidbit from my WIP, The Stone of Destiny. It's been contracted with Highland Press and will be featured in the anthology, Twist of Time. I don't have a release date yet.

So keep in mind this is still being edited. :)

Here's a Blurb: Kendra O’Reilly felt a connection with the Blarney Castle as if the echoes of the past could still be heard. The guide tells her a story about the Blarney Stone being the ancient Lia Fáil, one of the magical gifts from the god-like race, the Tuatha Dé Danann. To wish upon it, one will see where his or her destiny lies. Kendra wishes to find her one true love. She never thought she’d be whisked back to fifteen-century Ireland to find him.

Cian MacCarthy, the Lord of Blarney not only possesses the gift of Irish eloquence but he also has visions of the future.  He’s waited for Kendra’s arrival, knowing she is his soul mate. Now all he has to do is convince her she belongs at his side.

Six Sentence Sunday Twilight’s Eternal Embrace #1

It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 1st tidbit from my WIP, Twilight's Eternal Embrace. It has been contracted with Rebecca J. Vickery Publishing and is in edits.

In this scene:

Adryanna loaths the arrangement her people have with the Oiche Sith. They are stronger, swifter and ruthless if provoked. They keep the lands safe from invasions. They ask for only one favor in return. When the Oiche Sith turned five and twenty, they need blood to fully transform to the warrior stage of their existence. One of the Lathe Sith is sacrificed—so the Oiche Sith can live. Adryanna has just lost her sister to this ritual.

Adryanna (Lathe Sith/human) and Bram (Oiche Sith/vampire) meet for the first time. Bram has just saved her from being attacked by a few men from his clan. Though Adryanna would have given them a good fight.

Here's the Six:

******************************************************************************

There was no mistaking the hungry sensual growl in the back of his throat as he pressed his lips to hers. He didn’t ravage, but took his time, savoring, tasting…seducing. She groaned beneath his tender assault before her brain registered what she was doing. Fear mixed with passion made her heart thump wildly in her chest. She pushed at his chest, but he held her tight. She had to stop this before it was too late, before she didn’t care her enemy kissed her.

I hope you enjoyed the Six! What did you think? Is is too late for her? I love to hear comments. :)

Six Sentence Sunday Magic of the Loch #12

It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 12th tidbit from Magic of the Loch. It's available for in E-book now, too!

Michaela Grant travels to Scotland for a holiday, knowing this vacation is her last. A medical condition threatens her life and any chance of a future—until she meets Alan MacLachlin, a man forced to exist between two worlds.

In this scene: Michaela questions Alan's intentions since he's given her mixed signals.

SIX SENTENCES:

"What do you want from me, Alan? Do you want to kiss me or send me home?”

Indeed, what did he want with her? He wanted her to stay. He wanted to know everything there was to know about her. He wanted her to be his.

I hope you enjoyed the six. What do you think? Does Alan confess his intentions? Do you think Michaela is ready to hear them?

**************************************************************************

If you'd like to participate with the Six Sentence Sunday here's what to do:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published,

2) pick six sentences

3) post ‘em on Sunday

See? Easy. Want to play? See the site for information on how to do just that:http://sixsunday.com
