Kait rolled her eyes and said, “Ye only live once.”
Michaela met Kait’s gaze with a determined nod. “You are so right.” She raised her shot glass with a salute then threw back her head and drained the contents. The liquid burned all the way down, but damn it felt good to let loose.
“No’ bad for a Yank.” Kait nodded with approval.
“Hey,” Steven protested.
“Now, I wasnae referrin’ to ye, now was I?" Kait said as she draped her arm around Steven’s shoulders and added, "Are ye up for another then?"

Hyatt snagged a chair from the table next to them before Steven could refuse. “Where are our manners? For sure he’ll be joinin’ us. See if George willnae give ye a bottle, hey?” He winked at Kait. “Seein’ how ye dated him, he might be more obliged to give in to ye.”
“That was a long time ago, Hyatt and doonae bring up ancient history,” she warned and whirled away, her blonde hair flying behind her.
After sweet talking George with just a few words to give her what she wanted, she leaned over the bar to give him a quick kiss on the cheek then headed back to the table with her prize of glasses and bottle to share.

“I was studying the map the girls gave me," he said as he held up a torn paper from a notebook page and glanced back toward the bar where two young women, one blonde and the other dark stood smiling at him with an appreciative glint. He smiled back with a wave before he looked back at Kait. “If I could have a napkin to wipe my directions off before the ink runs, I’d appreciate it.”
“Oh aye,” Kait said as she handed him the remaining napkins on the table.
Alan moved the coffee mugs aside to make more room then introduced everyone. “...and the lassie who honored ye with a wee bath is Kait.”
Kait stuck out her tongue, but smiled broadly when the young man turned back to look at her again.
“I’m Steven Corbin.”

Kait's gaze landed on the tabletop and she clicked her tongue with a shake of her head. “Oh come on now, where are yer manners? Ye dinnae give the lassie a proper drink of George’s fine whiskey.”
“No, I’m fine really,” Michaela raised her hands in protest, but Kait persisted, whirling around to
head for the bar. Her swift actions had her plowing into a young man. His beer splashed down the front
of his polo shirt and onto the paper he was holding. “I dinnae see ye.” Kait said and grabbed a few napkins from the table to wipe his shirt.
“It’s all right,” the young man laughed, his speech indicating he was a tourist.

During a battle, a mist separates Dougray from his men and casts him into the future. Dougray must return to Dunhaven and to his century, but Aislinn follows him into the mist, leaving him no choice, but to take her home with him.
Conspiracies, feuds and unexpected violence are commonplace threats, but along the way, Aislinn and Dougray discover a surprise neither one expects: a chance for love even when they're Lost in the Mist of Time.

Kait's gaze narrowed in on her before sizing her up with a slide down then up again. “A Yank, huh?” That bit of news obviously pleased her for her smile widened, showing her dimples and transforming her frosty expression into one of warmth and welcome. “Ye willnae be with us long then.”
“Only a few weeks.” Michaela’s lips twitched, but she managed not to smile. Kait obviously didn’t think her a threat now and could relax.
Kait threw another dart where it smacked near the dead center.
