I’ll be Watching You… Heart and Soul #8sunday #snippetsunday
Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and Soul. This is a snippet from my new 'rock star romance' that I'm working on. It's in the very early stages.
Last week: Maverick left Rowan and went inside his appartment. He couldn't help himself, he had to sneak a peek at his new manager as she walked to her car to retrieve her things.
This is Rowan's POV.

Maverick let the curtain fall and stepped back from the window. Had Rowan seen him watching her? The last thing he wanted was to make her feel uncomfortable, and yet here he was watching her like a stalker.
He rubbed his face as he inhaled deeply. What was with the woman that had him so intrigued? Heck, he couldn't remember the last time a woman had him all wound up. Thoughts of kissing her and taking her to bed kept inappropriately crossing his mind. He shifted uncomfortably. His jeans feeling a bit snug in one particular spot. He'd be taking a cold shower tonight.

Home Sweet Home… Heart and Soul #8sunday #snippetsunday

Last week: Rowan thoughts are on the old photo she found at an antique shop.
This is Rowan's POV.

She peered closely at the photo on her laptop. She had scanned it; not wanting to take a chance the original would be lost or damaged. The couple was smiling as if they were having a wonderful night with promises of a great year to follow. However, the couple and the sign were irrelevant. It was where the photo had been taken that proved important.
The establishment may not have kept the original name but there was no mistaking that the couple had posed in front of what was now called the Heart and Soul.
"I'm finally home," she murmured to the smiling couple. The photo, that special moment in time had been the map that led her here.

Faded Memories… Heart and Soul #8sunday #snippetsunday

Last week: Rowan is on her computer and pulled up an old photo of a couple.
This is Rowan's POV.

They stood in front of a banner with the words scrawled in florescent bright colors: Welcome 1983! Happy New Year!
She was fascinated with old photos. It was like a free ticket to the past for a glimpse of another life. She came across this particular photo in an antique shop in Orange, California. It was one of many in the photo album long forgotten. She realized people were prone to dump photos without a thought, especially if they no longer knew whom the people were smiling back at them. The visual record of the person's life ceased to be important. The thought of it made her cringe to think even her moments captured on film would one day vanish as if she had never existed.

Portal to the past… Heart and Soul #8sunday #snippetsunday
Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and Soul. This is a snippet from my new 'rock star romance' that I'm working on. It's in the very early stages.
Last week :Rowan is at her car and she glances up at Maverick's apartment. She believes she saw the curtains flutter as if he might be watching her, but then she dismisses the possibility.
This is Rowan's POV.

He has much better things to do than to follow your every move.
She refocuses on her task and readjusts the strap of her computer bag with a quick shrug of her shoulder before reaching for the suitcase handle. A flash lit the sky and a rumble followed before large raindrops fell in a steady stream. Apparently, Katie had been right about the forecast. She hurried toward the stairs with the clickety-clack of the wheels of her suitcase singing an urgent plea to hurry before they were soaked. Luckily, the stairs were located under an awning and the rain falling faster now could only angrily pound against the thick fabric without success of reaching her.
Once inside her place, she left the suitcase by the door and headed over to the nook with her laptop. She slipped it out of the bag and placed it on the countertop. Pulling up the stool for a seat, she opened the device to power it up.
She clicked on one file in particular that she'd saved to her desktop and a photo appeared on the screen to reveal a woman, who sported huge sparkly earrings to compliment her wildly-perm hair, and standing beside her was a man, who had his arm draped over her shoulders as if he were a shawl to keep the chill away.
