A little further brainstorming about genetic engineering for 'eustachian tube dysfunction." I found this fascinating Vacanti mouse recently -

I'm wondering in what ways genetic engineering could 'restructure' my eustachian tube dysfunction (if this is an accurate diagnosis) eventually, and along the lines of learning from the above Vacanti mouse genetic engineering-wise. Good afternoon. Stanford faculty senate may have met yesterday, and I've been seeking to begin a fairly serious ethics' investigation there, which I texted about to Ma recently -"Hi Ma,
How are you? I have a fairly serious ethics' and legality inquiry and investigation in to the Stanford faculty senate which I'm waiting to hear back about, as you may have read. These process questions will also inform World Univ & Sch process for related questions - so something to learn from for WUaS - and maybe in moving toward justice, fairness and law. So as I wait to hear back, am wondering and hoping that a kind of WUaS log jam in a lake of 12 years of no harvesting may open and that World Univ & Sch will become financially operational. How to move from laws to a culture re dealing with issues that harm people ... and then to freedom or a flourishing culture and re Taoism, I wonder?

Am reminded of Lao Tzu's "Tao te Ching" a book I'm inspired by, and wisdom-wise too, re law into culture:

Just checked in with Barbara Salisbury re power outage, and am re-sending text message below ... How are you?

Hi Ma, Electrical power and internet are out in Canyon per a text from T-Mobile recently yesterday saying they were working with / cooperating with PG&E and SCE (and Contra Costa County government official too), then I just caught a glimpse of internet possibly working again, with power stll off. Caught a warm shower earlier with the passive solar water tank still warm from yesterday, had a soft-boiled egg because gas still works, but lit the stove with a lighter, but microwave oven doesn't work. Bagpiped a little with metronome on battery powered keyboard, learning that my piano's speakers were newly malfunctioning. Then reading Castells' brilliant 'Communication Power' (2nd ed.) I got new insights into how reading empowers / can be 'power' too - particularly the pages 103-105 on the way the internet developed without authority playing a role (I teach about this, but gained new knowledge). Also after sitting first thing, did big Yoga standing poses - good day for these, and beneficial too in many ways. Wifi on smartphone seems to have gone off again (10:35am PT) as I write this text.... so waiting for power - both electrical and internet to come on. Phone may still work, and may charge phone's battery driving in ~53mpg? car soon. Just a little bit of a power inventory on a Thursday morning in Canyon 94516, northern California. (Gets me thinking further about earthquake preparedness too re my kit for this. Probably will look further into getting more batteries). 'Power' too is still off for World Univ & Sch re no monies ... seeking for this to change ... (and re work - possibly creating 2.2 million jobs in 200 countries & 7111 living languages) ... maybe lack of power for WUaS will change with my recent ethics' writings :) .. speaking truth to power to use a f/Friendly Quaker phrase? Culturally (sub-culture) too. Writing a way here :) ... Departed Canyon to charge phone in car, and am out at the 5 way intersection of Skyline Blvd, Shepherd's Canyon AND Manzanita ...where internet is working

Sitting in Claremont public library and someone was reading front page of SF Chronicle across from me with big headlines, something like SF Bay Area STRUGGLING with power outage hmm. Get well soon, Barbara ! :)
And then the Mac Store in Berkeley called me out of the blue, about the same time my Safari browser was shut down, and a new little program popped up in my "Force Quit" dialog box which I have open to shut down Safari browser regularly because it's not working well these days, in not loading Twitter or Youtube after a spell (may be Apple up to its old conflictual tricks ...)

Will see what's up in Canyon ... may be a region by region outage ... partly to integrate the communications, electrical, internet, government interactions ... who knows ...
... while at the same time these ;'powers that be' navigating criminal behavior re even the sex trade too ... who knows? (Am hypothesizing here ... )

Am curious how to build in ethics further with World Univ & Sch's developments, and re questions of process (given Harvard, Oxbridge, Yale, MIT's, Haverford's, Swarthmore's, Stanford's centuries' old experiences ... and beyond questions of law .... so into culture ... and re aspects of freedom re 'morality' or ethics or caring too ... in the information age, and possibly Scotland, USA and country by country-wise in many languages). Thanks for this invitation. I'm writing to communicate in the midst of this "Google My Business user study" with regards to CC-4 MIT OCW wiki World University and School's unique situation. WUaS has 2 wings, and is planning to be in all ~200 countries and in all 7111 known living languages. See our description in the participation application:

'MIT OCW-centric wiki World University and School plans to offer online licensing / accrediting university and high school degrees in ~200 countries' official / main languages, and wiki schools in 7111 known living languages, and is a 501 c 3 nonprofit educational institution. The WUaS Corporation / Press is a parallel for-profit general stock company legal entity, an educational services company which also plans to be in 7,111 living languages and 200 countries' official languages.'

World Univ & Sch is also exploring facilitating a single cryptocurrency in some of these ~200 countries backed in some way by their central banks - and potentially distributed via Universal Basic Income experiments - perhaps, conceptually, via the 'Mine Pi' cryptocurrency idea. Good to connect with Finlay in lesson this morning. Glad Roddy MacLeod got back to me for about the 1st time with his NPC email address. Perhaps we'll connect further re piping at World University and School with time (and even re jobs).

How are you? Am curious how to build in ethics further with World Univ & Sch's developments, and re questions of process (given Harvard, Oxbridge, Yale, MIT's, Haverford's, Swarthmore's, Stanford's centuries' old experiences ... and beyond questions of law .... so into culture ... and re aspects of freedom re 'morality' or ethics or caring too ... in the information age, and possibly Scotland, USA and country by country-wise in many languages). More about questions about the 'perfect' idea, or related, later perhaps. Freedom is an interesting idea here ... in all of this. :) Hoping you have a great week, Ma!

For example, my "Naked Harbin Ethnography" book which lists at $64.95 would bring in $25.98 to Harbin for each copy sold. (The 60%/40% split for booksellers is standard, where retailers - like Harbin in this hypothetical case - would make 40% but where retailers also pay for shipping and handling and other related non-wholesaler/distributor/publisher costs which split the 60%).
And my other two books of poetry - also Harbin-centric - could sell well in such a Harbin Bookstore on Wheels:

And netting ~$50,000 per year would probably depend on what books Harbin sold in this, for one, as well as how big the 'Hippy Van bookstore' was, and what the Harbin waters did as well. For example, my "Naked Harbin Ethnography" book which lists at $64.95 would bring in $25.98 to Harbin for each copy sold. (The 60%/40% split for booksellers is standard, where retailers - like Harbin in this hypothetical case - would make 40% but where retailers also pay for shipping and handling and other related non-wholesaler/distributor/publisher costs which split the 60%).

And my other two books of poetry - also Harbin-centric - could sell well in such a Harbin Bookstore on Wheels:
Winding Road Rainbow: Harbin, Wandering & the Poetry of Loving Blisswhich lists for $9.99(would bring in about $4.00 per copy sold to Harbin)

Costs to bring down in such vans ... besides fuel?

How much revenue could such vans generate in other ways (deliveries, package service?) - in addition to book sales?
