Hello NTF Planning Group,
I had sent an announcement out yesterday to NTF listserve (which I assumed had everyone on the Planning Group too) but now have been made aware that that may not be true!
So below is the Zoom invitation to the NTF sponsored worship sharing tonight at 8:00 (Eastern time) if you would like to join in.  The topic is "How do we encourage the expression of diverse views in our Meeting, while supporting each other?"
Cheers!

Hi, John, Rosemary, nontheist Friends, atheist Quakers,

Thanks for organizing this.

Sorry, but I can't make it; I did however blog about some NtFriendly views, which I had shared in this list, on Poverty Action and much more yesterday - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/cosmos-sulphureus-poverty-action-wiki.html. Chris Mohr, executive director of Friends' Center, also has a focus on stopping poverty - https://twitter.com/chrismsf - as you'll see in his Twitter profile.

If the way opens, please share with us what people shared. (And if a Youtube recording is made, if people are comfortable with this, let's consider adding it to Nontheist Friends (atheist Quakers?) wiki school - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nontheist_Friends_(atheist_Quakers%3F) ). I hope nontheist Friends are doing well in the coronavirus pandemic sequestrations, (further thoughts about this in the genes' label in blog too - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/genes).

NtFriendly cheers, Scott

Here in the #NontheistFriends' Twitter #hashtag - https://twitter.com/hashtag/Nontheist... - I just found a Twitter post regarding SF Friend Sherri Maurin and my conversation & invitation to Quaker kids to matriculate at World Univ & Sch for free-to-students' online degrees (from 2012 actually, when I represented Friendly-informed WUaS at FGC in Rhode Island). It's looking like WUaS will be offering our 2nd matriculating undergraduate class the opportunity to take edX courses (founded by Harvard & MIT), I'm glad to announce.

American Friends Service Committee

Dear Scott Gordon,

With the call to support Black liberation growing, AFSC invites white people of faith to deepen our practice and to show up in substantial ways to support the movement for racial justice.
Sign up for for our new e-course "Radical Acting in Faith for White People" starting this Thursday, June 25.
In Twin Cities, Minnesota, AFSC Black program staff are a part of the movement for racial justice. When the uprising began in Minneapolis after the police murder of George Floyd, we asked staff members "What do you need?" They asked AFSC to invite white people of faith and Quakers to show up in ways that go beyond charity toward co-working for liberation and to show up in full solidarity with the Black movement leaders in this moment of grief, rage, and possibility.
Join us by registering today.  Over four sessions from June 25 through Aug. 13, "Radical Acting in Faith for White People" will help you engage in deep, embodied learning and practice with other white people of faith working to end white supremacy. We will build the skills to show up fully, follow Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) leadership, speak effectively, and engage in direct action.
Core sessions will take place via Zoom on:
- June 25, Thursday, 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. ET
- July 9, Thursday, 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. ET
- July 23, Thursday, 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. ET
- Aug. 13 Thursday, 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. ET
Participants will also be required to do work between core sessions (including recommended small group gatherings) and commit to action that results in tangible, positive outcomes for BIPOC people in our communities and systemic change.
Facilitators include Lucy Duncan, Lisa Graustein, and Mila Hamilton.
Lucy is AFSC’s director of Friends Relations. She is a member of Green Street Friends Meeting in Philadelphia. She teaches accompaniment of those most impacted by injustice as a spiritual pathway to liberation of all. She has been a storyteller for 20 years.
Lisa Graustein is a member of Beacon Hill Friends Meeting and is helping grow Three Rivers Meeting (NEYM). Her call to ministry centers on embodied justice work among Friends and out in the world. Lisa holds an Master's of Education in Racial Justice Education, was an out public high school teacher for 20 years, and has been facilitating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion workshops for 15 years.
Mila Hamilton lives in Minneapolis, where she is a member of Twin Cities Friends Meeting and Northern Yearly Meeting. Mila also serves on AFSC’s Friends Relations Committee. She has a background in youth work, critical race theory pedagogy, and communal studies.
We hope you can join us for "Radical Acting in Faith for White People" starting this Thursday!
In peace with justice,
Lucy Duncan, Lisa Graustein, and Mila Hamilton
P.S. Interested in more ways to deepen your anti-racist work? AFSC is offering several anti-racist oriented programs at the Virtual Friends General Conference Gathering from June 28 through July 4 as well as immersive "Defund Hate and Decolonizing the Future" workshops and several afternoon events.  Learn more .

Hi Lucy,
Lucy Duncan (AFSC)

A bit more about wiki-adding courses to World Univ & Sch's wiki subjects here -
World Univ & Sch is a wiki (editable, teachable web pages), and free to post to (but not advertising). See - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects - for example:
Welcome to World University and School Wiki
which anyone can add to or edit.
The Global, Virtual/Digital, Open, Free, {potentially Degree- and Credit-Granting},
Multilingual University & School
where anyone can teach or take a class or course
And WUaS's licensing is Creative Commons 4, so is 1) non-commercial , but which licensing allows for 2) sharing, and 3) adapting (like best STEM CC-4 OpenCourseWare - https://ocw.mit.edu/) -
(see the bottom of WUaS wiki pages): Content is available under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) unless otherwise noted.
- but WUaS has still not yet connected our wiki "front end" eg
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Uprisings,_Occupations,_Protests,_Resistance_%26_Hope
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Black_Studies
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Quakers_-_Religious_Society_of_Friends
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nontheist_Friends_(atheist_Quakers%3F)
or you could begin a wiki subject, as well.
with our wiki "back end" structured knowledge database in Wikidata and in its ~300 languages, so it might be worth exploring constructing courses that could work on our wiki pages (like best STEM CC-4 OCW courses), or even on the degree side of WUaS, with courses that undergraduates could take this autumn for credit, for example (and possibly like edX courses, regarding different time zones etc).
Questions, thoughts, ideas, suggestions? Please email me.
Friendly regards, Scott

Hi Nanette, Nice to hear from you. Glad you are all well, and able to travel across EU borders this summer in a van! Sounds fun! Greetings to Harald and your boys. Creative time here, in ongoing way - with World University and School (in ~200 countries and 7117 languages), and actual-virtual, physical-digital realistic virtual earth / Harbin as STEM field sites, and classrooms' projects. What languages are your boys learning? Any programming languages like Scratch (with Lego robotics even)? Am pretty well, continuing to seek a life partner, and while daily life in California may be a little quieter than pre-Covid-19 CA is in phase 2 or 3 of opening, even without vaccine or plan (although coronavirus mortality worldwide seems miniscule - 5,000 in Sweden with no sequestration) ... but I'm still staying mostly at home in beautiful Canyon CA 94516 (on hot summer afternoons too). WUaS collaboration with edX founded by Harvard & MIT this autumn looks promising for WUaS's 2nd undergraduate class, first in English! :) When might you return to the states? It would be nice to see you again! Could head conceivably to Cuttyhunk Aug 1, but waiting on further developments gene-wise, and meme-wise (replicating cultural units - eg news articles, and the 'coronavirus' word :)  Warm regards, Scott

Dear Larry,

If in the future for BPPE licensing and WASC accreditation, World Univ & Sch needs a standardized admissions' test ... this one is at the top of a WUaS list (over SAT etc) - but seeking others. This one isn't in other non-English languages, for example. Maybe WUaS can create a spin off - a regarding HGSE Creative Computing Assessment philosophy even - in multiple countries' languages.
Sincerely, Scott

BREAKTHROUGH - new edX course catalog with amazing array of courses WUaS can offer this autumn to matriculating WUaS students

Hi Rifai, Peter and Partha!

Thanks again for your email, Rifai, which I've reposted below - and for saying you're interested in translating some of WUaS in English into the Sinhala language, and that you have some possible students who might be interested in taking WUaS edX courses in English and Sinhala (I think). Peter, would you like to explore translating similarly into German in a WUaS Google Sites' page? Rifai, I've numbered your 3 paragraphs in your email, and am replying to each below.
1You also lead me to think that Google Sites is again new, and that this, for example, is now more readily editable - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool . Am interested in adding most of this http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ to this WUaS Sites' page - - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool - and for translation into the Sinhala language, especially (partly with machine translation). But I'm also appreciative that a single column, rather than 3 columns, would be better for smartphones. And I just saw that it's possible to take an edX course on a smartphone and tablet - https://support.edx.org/hc/en-us/articles/206914817-Can-I-access-edX-courses-on-my-smartphone-or-tablet- .
I've also now removed the Sri Lanka World University and School website with a Grenada domain name you, Rifai, made from - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Sri_Lanka - per your request.
(Are you both on the Wikidata email list - https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata - with Wikidata's ~300 languages? Here's a recent language related email thread - "[Wikidata] Language codes 'mul' and 'mis' not recognized" for example. And here's Sinhala in Wikidata - https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q13267 and the Sinhala language Wikipedia - https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q8571954 - in Wikidata.  WUaS donated ourselves to Wikidata for co-development in 2015, and received this Miraheze WUaS MediaWiki in 2017 as a consequence - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Sinhala_language but back end and front end are not yet interoperable. And Wikidata's ~300 languages along with Google Translate's ~100 languages will inform World Univ & Sch's coding for all 7,117 living languages - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Languages - even).
2I've just updated this WUaS Google Sites' page in English - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool  . Let's work through the linkages with time. For a while not too long ago, I had this - https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool  - at the top of worlduniversityandschool.org ... but structure and planning for all ~200 countries' universities in their languages in Google Sites will probably be connected with the A) nation states and B) languages' link on both https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool and worlduniversityandschool.org. Looking forward to further students - and potentially from Sri Lanka, first in English, and then also in Sinhala!
I've begun to do update this https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool  from http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ so if you'd like to start translating to a Sri Lanka World University and School Google Sites' page on your end (anticipating machine translation on the Google Sites' platform, I think), am looking forward to seeing this.
3Regarding the Edx catalog you shared -
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10huGunGcPQQpsoJicL8ZDUrBaOKxtA5ODgOPKfsYokM/edit?ts=5e98ba6d#gid=48622087 (What an amazing list of edX courses!) and
here's World Univ & Sch's course catalog - in WUaS's 6 majors - and with both CC-4 MIT OCW courses in our majors (leading us to offer free-to-students' degrees) and edX FROM MITx course links -
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VRHhXYsk-V9lvSh5onaU2hnEhwoapSN7HyBK1P09LIk/edit?usp=sharing
Am wondering if we should merge these lists. edX, and MIT OCW links, from one or both lists will feed into the WUaS wiki subjects' pages - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects - from their respective GDocs.
The WUaS GDocs form for enrollment wasn't working well, and WUaS has removed it from worlduniversityandschool.org
Names of people who signed up were put into a GDocs spreadsheet. And that is the plan going ahead. In building out this new "form for enrollment for Autumn 2020" WUaS needs to make a new one. Could you help with that Rifai, please? Please plan for people in ~200 countries, speakers of 7, 117 known living languages, and all 7.5 billion people per You at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University . WUaS seeks to link it to worlduniversityandschool.org and https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool (and possibly the WUaS Google Sites' page you translate into Sinhala too).
Please remember that in WUaS seeking reimbursement from nation states and possibly their states and 'counties,' WUaS is seeking to matriculate students for 4 year Bachelor degrees, taking something like CC-4 MIT OCW courses, and eventually 'pegging' our WUaS reimbursement per student per year on what tuition is at MIT itself (approximately $55,000 per year at present). So the GDocs' form for matriculating WUaS students you might create, Rifai, will be central to WUaS relating to countries' governments for reimbursement.  Each matricualting WUaS student will likely get a Wikidata PIN # per - You at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - and their will be 7.5 billion of these Wikidata PIN #s! Partha?
Peter, do you want to begin to translate some of this into German, Partha, would your parents be available to translate into Bengali? Rifai - do you know someone to translate into the Tamil language?
I've just updated this WUaS Google Sites' homepage https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool  !
Looking forward to seeing your Sri Lanka World Univ & Sch page in Sinhala in WaS Google Sites! (I'll be exploring reading it with a Google Translate extension in my Chrome browser). Thank you, Rifai!

Hi !
1
I was thinking that you were planning to move away from Google Sites. If that is not the case we can keep freeuniversity.rf.gd parked for the time being, i will remove all references to WUaS, you can remove all links to freeuniversity.rf.gd

2
I will focus on developing SL WUaS on Google Sites. Share with me the link for the latest one for English. I will translate to Sinhala launching SL WUaS on Google Sites. I might be able to provide some courses in Sinhala soon. This way we can use our existing domains to link to the Google Sites.

3
I will also share with you a catalog of edX courses to add into Subjects. Yes ! I have been using GDocs you can share the form for enrollment for Autumn 2020. I will start getting some students. You need to tell me the process from enrollment to certificate to inform the students and issue a document authorising Freedom College.

Regards,
Rifai, Freedom College, Sri Lanka

Hi Ma, (Ann), How are you both?

As I watched the impressive Dalai Lama in a Livestream from Dharamsala, India -

Resilience, Compassion, and Science for Healing Today

https://youtu.be/2qfLD747ACA

- last night thanks to a Stanford email, I was interested in much (much to learn from him), but also how he seemed a little frail or feeble at the end. And it made me appreciate the value of doing perhaps a little more Yoga asana daily than I do now to stay spry at age 84. As I wrote yesterday:

Went out for a brief walk last evening .. have a slightly swollen outer left L heel, due I think to wearing a lift in two pairs of Birkenstocks on R, and outer left Brikenstock soles getting too thin. (My legs are different lengths, and perhaps the life for the right leg puts extra weight into the left foot! ) Got a pair of New Balance running shoes, almost new, but possibly 10 years old, out of my closet, and in going for a brief walk liked the support and design of these running shoes. May explore putting a lift on NB running shoes, a pair or 2, . .. and getting 2 new pairs of Birkenstocks too, and adding lift re hips' levelness.

But now that I think of it, the walk itself with more Yoga asana could be contributing to the swollen heel in my left out ankle!

Would love to head to another Yoga workshop in Greece with Angela and Victor in Greece sometime (post-coronavirus pandemic), and could even explore teaching Yoga here in Canyon again (with parallels to teaching Scottish small piping online to a student in SF, which is a creative process - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/bagpiping:).

Warmly, Scott

to Jane, Ann, ScottDid some Yoga - Surya Namaskars (Sun salutations, - somewhat vigorous, with many upper body benefits), some Adho Mukha Svanasanas (downward facing dogs, - similarly), and child poses (restorative and gentle - good flexion for legs, and a calming forward bend also) ... nice!

Doing such Yoga at age 128 too?

Depends on how refined the genetic enzyme might become for our aging DNA ! :)
How are you both? And how were your days? :)

Glad to be in communication with Stuart Weeks yesterday and to wish his ~5yo son happy birthday in northern Vermont. My Cuttyhunk friend, David Thurston's 1st cousin, Stuart is probably around 70 and Elizabeth around 40, and I met them in Berkeley and Canyon just as they were traveling, getting engaged, and before they married and had their son. A good model for me to meet & marry a 28 yo woman who wants to begin a family! I think so!

Interesting further characterization of Cape Breton style fiddling and Celtic music, and regarding strathspeys and reels too:
"Cape Breton playing is highly accented, characterized by driven up-bowing. The tunes of other music origins (Irish, CanadianFrench-Canadianetc.) sound quite different when performed by Cape Breton players. Hi Nontheist Friends:
Cosmic Skeptic Atheist Alex, the non-theist Oxford theology graduate student:
DEBATE: Would God Allow Evil? @CosmicSkeptic vs @InspiringPhilosophyhttps://youtu.be/hNF9bTESZwE
Going live: https://t.co/2YKqbLW7Sa— Alex J. O'Connor (@CosmicSkeptic) June 13, 2020

https://twitter.com/CosmicSkeptic/status/1271850270205587459?s=20

I wrote one of my Reed College qualifying exams in Religion (with both social science focus, as well as feminist theology focus) on the so-called 'problem of evil' (an old debate from Augustine, Aquinas and more recently John Hicks' ) ... but not from an atheist or non-theist (let alone NtF Friendly/Quaker) perspective.
Quakers have addressed the so-called 'problem of evil' eg https://jollyquaker.com/2017/05/26/finding-a-good-way-to-talk-about-evil/ and https://books.google.com/books?id=v20GDAAAQBAJ&pg=PA4&lpg=PA4&dq=theodicy+quaker&source=bl&ots=wrKIOsfm7P&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwizruCrvITqAhUVJDQIHdmwC90Q6AEwCXoECAsQAQ#v=onepage&q=theodicy%20quaker&f=false ; NtF's not yet.
But Cosmic Skeptic Atheist Alex offers new ways (for me) for addressing such questions, and potentially in a non-theistically Friendly way ... Alex's opening begins at 22 minutes.
I find that my more current research interests focus on the ethnography of actual-virtual Harbin Hot Springs, where Harbin is also 2 churches (HCC, and NACOB) interestingly (but where actual Harbin is now closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, and before closed due to the Valley Fire of September 2015 in Lake county CA). My research focuses partly on the ethnography of meditation in warm pools - with parallels to sitting in Quaker Silent Meeting - and even with developing brain research (where philosophical theodicy questions for me are something of the past (1983)).
Appreciating this Oxford debate philosophical thinking and structure too, (where Quakers have only engaged modestly in debates eg https://www.jstor.org/stable/2710672?seq=1 and https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/07/debate-on-god-language-doesnt-mean-all-quakers-are-losing-faith ) ... and NtFs haven't yet engaged in questions of debate that I know of (and anthropology / ethnography is a very different form of inquiry, than this kind of philosophy :).
Appreciating, too, the freedom in non-theistically Friendliness! :)
NtF cheers, Scott- https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/virtual%20Harbinhttps://www.amazon.com/author/scottmacleodworlduniversity

Dear WUaS Board, Larry, Govind, and All,
Now that the WUaS Educational Services' Store (http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html) is newly functioning and carrying products, and that WUaS Corp is officially a carrier of Lego Robotics (but not yet a reseller, either online or on-the-ground in any of the ~200 countries in the world, as planned for physical robotics' stores), please check out these interesting histories of Lego (which word derives from the Danish words "leg godt" meaning "play well" ):
"The name 'LEGO' is an abbreviation of the two Danish words “leg godt”, meaning “play well”. It's our name and it's our ideal. The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen. The company has passed from father to son and is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder."
https://www.lego.com/en-us/aboutus/lego-group/the-lego-group-history/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego
Lego seems to have a great history as a company and began over 85 years ago. Lego is a privately held based in Billund, Denmark, so not listed on any stock markets for example - and the WUaS Corp is planning to go public and be listed as a stock company first in California. And Lego has both grown a lot and been through a lot of lawsuits in many countries - with much to learn from for WUaS, and in the middle of the information technology revolution, with the world wide web beginning to grow significantly in 1993 or' 94. And Lego has worked with the MIT Media Lab since 1984!
Ole Kirk Kristiansen, the founder, seemed to be very interested in quality for Lego, as is World Univ & Sch for our educational programs! WUaS would seek to develop 'WUaS Home Robotics' for Engineering and Science majors significantly based on Lego Robotics' kits, both actually and especially virtually, both physically, and digitally!
If you know of anyone interested in Lego Robotics's kits, please invite them to visit the WUaS EducationRobotics' store - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html - and if possible to let WUaS know if they get a set through us! Thank you!
I've blogged some about this and Sri Lanka World Univ & Sch with a Grenada domain name, and much more today - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/golden-everlasting-xerochrysum.html

Just before WUaS Monthly Business Meeting this morning (3rd Saturdays at 9am Pacific Time, and open), a friend of World Univ & Sch in Sri Lanka, Rifai (founder of Freedom College there), sent an email to me with a new Sri Lanka World Univ & Sch web site, with a Grenada URL:

Freedom College | Admin3:02 AM (11 hours ago)
to meHi Scott !

I hope the WUaS team is in good health and ready to launch the 6 Bachelor's degree programmes. It is better if we can discuss how Sri Lanka World University and School is going to go forward. I have launched a new domain which will be fully dedicated to this project and customised accordingly.
http://freeuniversity.rf.gd/
Let me know your thoughts so that we can setup the site and start enrolling for Autumn 2020. The site can be built in all three languages. You will have to share a how it works document to translate to Sinhala and Tamil. Also check on Open edX and edX Edge by edX. The domain supports Moodle and other LMSs.
Regards,
Rifai

Dear WUaS Board members, Markus, friends, All,

World Univ & Sch MBM Minutes to come from today's WUaS Monthly Business Meeting - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/lotus-corniculatus-agenda-news-for.html.

A friend of WUaS in Sri Lanka just created the beginnings of Sri Lanka World University and School website with a .gd Grenada domain name. He's the founder of Freedom College there, and I thank him for his initiative. He writes:

"Hi Scott !

Regards, Freedom College"

Here below is my reply to him, which could also inform the WUaS finance technologies' build-out of WUaS's information technology platform.

I'll see how he replies, but how could we help him with the Google Sites' platform, and in anticipating machine learning and machine translation - and in combination with planning for WUaS in Wikidata's ~300 languages, and possibly with a Wikidata PIN # (like a Wikidata Q-item # but different, and planning for matriculating WUaS students, Wiki Universitians, and potentially all 7.5 billion people on planet)? Thoughts, questions, ideas, suggestions? Thanks.

Sincerely, Scott

Dear Rifai:
(Freedom College founder)
Thank you for your email, and for creating this - http://freeuniversity.rf.gd/ - especially as a kind of prototype.
I've added your creation of 'Sri Lanka World University & School' to the Sri Lanka World University and School wiki - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Sri_Lanka .
I linked it using this citation approach under the "Select Websites" ' section heading:
Sri Lanka World University and School. 2020. [http://freeuniversity.rf.gd/?i=1 Sri Lanka World University and School]. Grenada: freeuniversity.rf.gd.
These section headings may all eventually be translated into countries' main languages with machine learning / machine translation.
Please remember that World Univ & Sch is Google-centric since WUaS is in Google for Education & G Suite & reGoogle Translate
- and for machine learning, and machine translation.
And please remember too that worlduniversityandschool.org eventually into worlduniversityandschool.edu is our domain for all 200 countries, and in all 7,117 known living languages.
WUaS seeks to add edX courses to our wiki Academic subject pages (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects) and in all ~200 countries' official / main languages also - & all potentially in an automated way - and from our course catalog - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/  - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VRHhXYsk-V9lvSh5onaU2hnEhwoapSN7HyBK1P09LIk/edit?usp=sharing (in a GDocs spreadsheet) - and regarding our 6 Bachelor degree majors / programmes at WUaS .
Can you work with Google Sites - https://sites.google.com/new (which I've explored a few times in years past eg https://sites.google.com/view/worlduniversityandschool ) - and develop Sri Lanka World Univ & Sch further in these regards here?
I'll have to think through the .gd domain name for the country of Grenada in the Carribean further in the web site you created.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grenadahttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.gd
You may have begun Grenada World Univ & Sch as well ! :)
WUaS is thinking in terms of all ~200 countries, each a free-to-students' major online university in the countries' official / main languages.
Eventually, in terms of enrolling WUaS students, WUaS seeks to go from GDocs' Spreadsheet list of WUaS students relating to - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University (each person something a Wikidata Q-item #, but probably a parallel Wikidata PIN #, since WUaS is already in Wikidata too, in its ~300 languages) - and for all wiki universitians not only in Sri Lanka, but in all ~200 countries and speakers of all 7,117 known living languages (and planning for all 7.5 billion people). Are you familiar with GDocs for all of this?
Let's come into further conversation about this re your "It is better if we can discuss how Sri Lanka World University and School is going to go forward". Thank you - and interesting!

I enjoyed the style of your German here - http://mayranna.de/.
And I'm wondering about its translation into English via Google Translate:

My name is Anna Mayr and I am a journalist because I cannot do anything else. But I learned that I should better say: Because I don't want anything else.

I studied geography and literature in Cologne. In the first semester, I thought that would help me understand the world. In the eighth semester I had a bachelor's degree and still didn't understand anything.

I call Berlin my home, even if it feels strange. I stay at home most in the Ruhr area, because I can call everyone shit and nobody takes it against me.

I was a student at the German School of Journalism in Munich. Today I am an editor at ZEIT.

For research on the old pharmacy in Bottrop, I was nominated with the Correctiv team for the Reporter Prize 2017 and the Nannen Prize 2018, and we were also awarded the Journalist Prize of the Apothekerstiftung Westfalen-Lippe. Medium Magazin included me in the selection of the top 30 to 30 in 2018.

A Harvard geneticist's goal: to protect humans from viruses, genetic diseases, and agingGeorge Church's lab at Harvard Medical School is working to make humans immune to all viruses, eliminate genetic diseases and reverse the aging process. We don't even know if it ever happened ever in the rest of the universe. it's awe-inspiring to know that it either happened billions of times, or it never happened. Both of those are mind boggling. It's amazing that you can have such complex structures that make copies of themselves. But it's very hard to do that with machines that we've built. So, we're engineers. Hello Taylor!

some further thoughts about bagpiping expression: :)

If I were to hypothesize about one thing that makes Stuart Liddell's expressiveness in piping different from other greatest pipers, I'd suggest it's his ability to play many instruments, and that these all inform each other in his piping; maybe he's a walking synthesis band as he bagpipes (internalizing a whole band of many instruments within him) :).

What is expressiveness? What is it in piping? What is expressiveness re Stuart Liddell's piping? How to hear this? One thing a teacher (a Scot) has described as 'musicality'  referring to more emphasis on the main beats, and dotted notes (relatively to playing in a rounded fashion) ... and when this all comes together in a lyrical flow experience playing, I'd call this expression. Another way of thinking about this? Listen to Stuart play My Home and Scotland the Brave, play with ... explore. What's expression in piping for you?

See you in about 59 minutes!

Cheers, Scott

Hi Taylor,

Some further thinking about piping expression:

I was amazed re 'expression' in piping, and regarding both the Solve for MIT Yo Yo Ma clip about technique -

At about the 1:05 of this 1:34 MIT video:
Virtual Solve at MIT 2020: Event Recap - "We're All One Crew."

https://youtu.be/9SIa7Pt1SjA

- and Ma & Marsalis's 'Guidelines for Practicing a Musical Instrument' (http://scottmacleod.com/GuidelinesPracticingMusicalInstrument.htm) when my teacher Connor Sinclair 2 or 3 months ago played in both a Stuart Liddell what Connor calls 'metronomic' style   and in a Gordon Duncan style! So great, and interesting.

It occurs to me too that your first way of playing the birl would be worth exploring in playing a double birl - technique-wise! Am looking online for some further thinking about playing double-birls, and am exploring both ways myself.

Am also further seeking my 'sound' - another question Connor asked me for my upcoming 'Honey in the Bag' SSP album, and consciously - and Connor's playing in both Stuart Liddell's and Gordon Duncan's expressive piping styles, comparatively, further opens my eyes to what expression in piping means. (Am personally looking for something a little further out the box, but am still exploring in these regards ... ) I haven't yet identified a Connor Sinclair style consciously. :)

Re successive approximations (one approach I take to learning) or iterations toward Mastery Learning (in a Sal Khan Khan Academy sense), I think

2 Write out a schedule, a plan with goals. (Choose pieces you enjoy playing – S.M.).
Yo-yo Ma says, never make a sound without hearing it first; hear it in your mind.

could apply to these tunes we'll explore next week:

Gillie Callum (quick step)
Dorrator Bridge
Willie Gray

Adding more recent thinking about piping expression here -

Taylor,

A further fascinating helpful explanation about keys of GHB bagpipe tunes (within the 9 note scale):
You can identify the key in which a tune is written by looking at the most common chords in the tune; additionally, most tunes will end on their key note. (This is not only true of bagpipe music, but of over 99% of Western music generally).
and the sentence just before this :
in fact bagpipe tunes in D very closely approximate this key - for example, "Amazing Grace." It also corresponds to the key signature for B minor (B Aolian) - for example, "Mist-Covered Mountains."  And finally it corresponds to the key signature for A Mixolydian - for example, "Scotland the Brave."  http://cityofoaks.home.netcom.com/Bagpipe_Tuning.html
Good for exploring what SSP middle drones' tunings work with whicht tunes! :) (more related info here - http://forums.bobdunsire.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-112214.html ). Searched in Google on "identifying keys within bagpipe sheet music."
As we've explored (and slightly differently)
Basic Bagpipe Lessons : Bagpipe Lessons: The Birl Technique

https://youtu.be/cGwLwunE2u8

And there's mention here of the 'double tap' girl ...
http://forums.bobdunsire.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-137176.htmlStill seeking further birl thinking regarding the tune in CoP Blue Tutor Vol. 3 in Gillie Callum (the slow version of this strathspey) ... and think now that it's the same as a basic birl (and in looking back at earlier birl notation in previous tunes in the Blue book).
Cheers, Scott

Hi Ma,
These Bach Partitas are very beautiful -
Bach: Complete Partitashttps://youtu.be/s_num0eZIQ8played by Yuan Sheng (who's back in Beijing, but who studied in NYC for years).
I've emailed Connor Sinclair about this album before, since the pianist has 'good hands,' something people say about pipers, as well.
But I newly hear some influences of Glenn Gould in his playing, - and re piping, I wonder if my upcoming 'Honey in the Bag' album will exhibit influences of the amazing piping of Stuart Liddell, Gordon Duncan as well as Connor Sinclair, - and thanks to lessons with Connor. Making new connections regarding these "Guidelines for Practicing a Musical Instrument" - http://scottmacleod.com/GuidelinesPracticingMusicalInstrument.htm - as well, and what I've recently learned, and regarding the lesson recordings in video as well. Seeking to play more daily than presently - which I am doing - but right before bed; haven't figured this one out yet, psychologically, and in thinking about this yet :)
How's your day gone, and how are you?

Ma,
Nice to talk earlier!
Made my first recording for "Honey in the Bag" Scottish small pipes' album in mind this afternoon, using the "Audacity" recording App. It sounds like good quality to my ear - MP3 format. Kinda momentous ... some fast tunes will involve further playing beforehand. Will likely find a new smartphone APP metronome with a flashing light for playing. Some further good steps in this process (but good too to have recorded the College of Piping's Green Tutor Vol. 1, and Blue Tutor Vol 3 tunes as tutorials, and for recording experience too). :) Would like to get this to CD, I think .. .and maybe also in the PIpers of Distinction series out of Scotland, if at all possible. I learn from recording too!
How was your day, and your weekend?

Hi Ma,
How was your day?

Appreciating Taylor's receptiveness, and being a good, capable and interested piping student (as we peer through our Skype computer windows in our developing conversation:).
Still seeking my sound for 'Honey in the Bag' in playing daily I think, and before recording ... and regarding playing expressively :) I feel my way forward with my 'Honey in the Bag' album in giving lessons to Taylor somehow too. Appreciating the connection.
Am following up re this earlier 'Connecting' email and thread ... Re Connor: as I listen thru and watch my video lessons with Connor ... and he connected .. and so did I, I like seeing his confidence, his responses (and our connection) ... am learning much again and again ... and about connecting in a learning conversation with spoken language as well as connecting in learning a piping language ... and confidence re my playing too ... the feeling (sometimes bumpy, but sometimes good from daily playing) as I improve .. and the feeling of being little shy, or even embarrassed at times as I seek to improve (which feeling I feel far less these days than I recall feeling even in elementary school years, for example).
Interesting to experience re-connecting with Connor in lesson recordings, where we connected in real time (he in Scotland - and regarding even identity questions - being pipers, Scottish identity too perhaps) in the actual lessons (ie which were recorded). One aspect of playing a musical instrument for me is that I can have a constant self-critique aspect 'in there' ...
But our lessons are kind of a piping-learning 'blather'
Connor's a good, responsive and skillful teacher ... am learning a lot from videos to work with ... a lot of 'building blocks' from Connor ... Stuart Liddell's piping is my inspiration for inspired piping ... https://youtu.be/pQEJf5XZPL8 ...
Focused on piping this morning for nearly 2 hours, playing some, but tuning in further to my 19 Feb 2020 lesson with Connor helpfully.
L,
Scott
Notes from 19 Feb 2020 lesson with Connor Sinclair Was very glad to learn the following from 19 Feb 2020 lesson re even thinking about the new E drone, and which tunes could work with it better than others:

Keys in tunes?
44:4545:30
a bit of uniqueness in (SSP) drone sounds – (potentially with E drone sounding different)
46:45
A major
46:55
B minor47:10

C sharp, or F sharp minor
(then going into A)
48:10
you could play an A over F sharp minor((what about an E drone too? – to ask Connor))49:15
key of D notes, Connor plays (on an ‘A’ GHB practice chanter, which is really in B flat mixolydian, or so called ‘Piper’s A’)

At a push you’ve got

The key of G – and he plays notes on his practice chanter in this keytoward > https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/02/western-honey-bee-re-my-upcoming-honey.html

Taylor,
A further fascinating helpful explanation about keys of GHB bagpipe tunes (within the 9 note scale):

And there's mention here of the 'double tap' girl ...
http://forums.bobdunsire.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-137176.html
Still seeking further birl thinking regarding the tune in CoP Blue Tutor Vol. 3 in Gillie Callum (the slow version of this strathspey) ... and think now that it's the same as a basic birl (and in looking back at earlier birl notation in previous tunes in the Blue book).

Symphyotrichum lanceolatum: Maybe science can take advantage of this virus and genetic research opportunity to also develop a cure for the common cold, and so many other viral genetic diseases * * A second actual-virtual, physical-digital Harbin ethnograph

Hi M,

Maybe science can take advantage of this virus and genetic research opportunity to also develop a cure for the common cold, and so many other viruses, and genetic diseases (of which aging is being construed as well - to produce aging reversal genetic therapies!)

How are you and what are you up to for this weekend?
As I wrote to my friend, LC, in the state of Washington yesterday:

"Am really missing here a sense of community or camaraderie in Canyon, although it's beautiful. Meet a life partner and head back to P. for raising a family with community?
...
Ongoing seeking of life partner here and to begin a family. Might stay out here in Canyon after Harbin opens both to visit, and to write a second actual-virtual, physical-digital Harbin ethnography, possibly publishing it to paper from within Google Street View (text in the sidebar)! "

Good to participate in a Shady Side Academy equity listening video conference yesterday; it seemed to involve much Quaker process re the listening aspect. And good too to feel a little further more of a sense of community in Pittsburgh in these regards than out here.

Interesting that per Stanford Tweet, 65000 downloads of corona tracing app in Germany occurred yesterday (see below), and per a MIT tweet that Norway stops using it due to low # of infections (see below too). I hypothesize in an ongoing way that coronavirus is much much more 'meme' (replicating culture unit) than 'gene' but will be glad if humans make progress with regard to viral genetic and other genetic diseases.

This talk is a demonstration of an open-source Brain-Computer Interface that is completely developed with JavaScript, from the ground up, using neural networks and signal processing. Armagan hits the stage with a wireless EEG headset, shows how to read signals from the brain in JavaScript using native C++ Node.js modules over USB, and the implementation in Electron, Node.js and Vue.js.

World University and School

1
Best STEM CC-4 OpenCourseWare-centric wiki World University and School is coming along, and WUaS is seeking to matriculate our second online undergraduate Bachelor's degree class this autumn - potentially in collaboration with edX, so with courses on the edX platform; see The College at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/The_College_at_World_University_and_School (with these 6 majors - 1) EECS, 2) General Science, 3) General Engineering, 4) English, 5) History, 6) Business - see: http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ - for free-to-students' best STEM CC-4 OpenCourseWare-centric Bachelor degrees.
Like with edX courses, WUaS students would initially simply sign up for their courses on something like the edX platform, in part. (You at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - will eventually be part of this WUaS sign in process). Students will potentially matriculate online from all ~200 countries in the world, first in English.
World Univ & Sch is also seeking to develop a major university library for undergraduates, first in English, for the above - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Library_Resources

2How to develop a functioning WUaS / WUaS Corp Board, and especially now that WUaS is 'officially' carrying Lego Robotics, but is not yet a reseller - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html - and thus further define the relationships between WUaS's 2 wings, or legal entities: 1) non-profit 501 c 3 World University and School, also a non-profit legal entity in California, and 2) the WUaS Corporation / Press, a for-profit general stock company legal entity in California? A NomGov Board member? Board Meetings online in the coronavirus pandemic newly? Create with workshops, and graduate, a pool of experienced and smart Board members from which to grow this?

This will unfold significantly on the WUaS web platforms - with AI and machine learning (potentially with the Google / Alphabet platform).
Websites' updates:
The WUaS Corporation, as a legal entity, is a for-profit general stock company in California, and planning to go public. See licensing for the WUaS Corp / Press for-profit here - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html
And World Univ & Sch is a non-profit 501 c 3, and in CA too, and you'll find its Board members - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Foundation ; see licensing at bottom of non-profit - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ too). Together, these 2 legal entities, and wings of WUaS, offer enormous educational growth potential - and are both planned in all ~200 countries' and their official / main languages for free-to-students' best STEM CC-4 OCW-centric accrediting degrees, as well as wiki schools in all 7,117 known living languages for open teaching and learning.

Thoughts, suggestions, ideas, questions? Board members of Silicon Valley's largest companies  - the SV 150, for ex. - are reimbursed handsomely (at around $300,000 per year, I learned in the Stanford Law SVDX meeting 3-4 years ago).

3Board invitation -
- info @ worlduniversityandschool.org -
I think the Stanford Law SVDX webinar is open - and its focus is Board Members actually. All of the above would be in the WUaS Corp legal entity in all likelihood.

Sincerely, Scott- https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Foundation - https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSchhttps://twitter.com/WUaSPress -

4Realistic Virtual Earth -

World Univ & Sch is seeking to facilitate too a realistic virtual earth for everything - e.g. for robotics - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForRobotics?src=hashtag_click (https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarth?src=hashtag_click including especially a realistic virtual Harbin https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualHarbin?src=hashtag_click) for academic, both STEM, social science, humanities and arts - and has updated our universities & schools home pages with some of these

http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html

- in something like Google Street View with time slider, Maps, Earth, TensorFlow and even with avatar bots for species and individuals (and at the cellular and atomic levels too).
A realistic virtual earth for Lego ... from Lego Duplo bricks into Google Poly - and the creative computing projects you shared - to Lego machine learning with the WeDo 2.0 special Lego Robotics' kit (maybe with 2 smart hubs, etc) and in Google Research Football etc. - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/02/flying-and-gliding-animals-this-is-next.html - are a lot of virtual world dots to connect, but would open up vast learning horizons (in so many countries and languages even, and re World Univ & Sch).

5WUaS Home Robotics
WUaS Home Robotics seeks to facilitate online courses with Lego Robotics' kits sent to students in their homes, potentially in all ~200 countries, and in building a best STEM CC-4 OCW-centric WUaS curriculum for Lego Robotics for WUaS College level engineering majors, potentially taking courses on the edX platform in addition to the this best STEM CC-4 OCW Lego resource -https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/experimental-study-group/es-293-lego-robotics-spring-2007/ - as well as curriculum for something like IB high school science majors. This would include Creative Computing approaches to this with Scratch programming - https://twitter.com/hashtag/CreativeComputing?src=hashtag_click - since Lego Robotics is programmable with the Scratch language. Since Scratch is multi-lingual, WUaS seeks to develop this in WUaS major online universities in all ~200 countries' official languages!
Machine learning with Lego and Google Research Football too - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/yellow-star-thistle-scott-macleod.html

6
Brainwave headset research at WUaS -

World Univ & Sch is also seeking to facilitate brainwave headset research (and related brain research), and potentially in a realistic virtual Harbin Hot Springs - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualHarbin?src=hashtag_click - into a single realistic virtual earth for brain research and even regarding genes - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForGenetics?src=hashtag_click - (in Google Street View with time slider, TensorFlow and at the cellular and atomic levels too ... and potentially also with a Film-To-3D application at these scales) ... https://www.ninds.nih.gov/Disorders/Patient-Caregiver-Education/Genes-Work-Brain. Headbands packed with sensors learning both about the brain, as well as streaming data into simulations, as we learn further how to study the brain and mind. Andrew Junker is inventor of Brainfingers.com in these regards, for example, but Armagan Amcalar - https://twitter.com/dashersw - has also developed a brainwave headset with at least 24 sensors in the head set, with software codable with python, and with a language computer screen interface. (What about bathing cap textile brain wave headsets?). See too - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/Brain , Will matriculating WUaS students be doing neuroresearch from home, learning from and building on https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/brain-and-cognitive-sciences/ ? :)

7
Wiki (editable and thus teachable too) pages at World University and Schools -

World Univ & Sch received this inquiry recently:

"At Career Karma we are passionate about helping people switch careers from non-tech fields to tech jobs to acquire new skills and obtain higher salaries. I think this is especially relevant during COVID-19 when thousands lost their jobs.

We have plenty of great article ideas so I was wondering if we can submit a high-quality blog post to be featured on your blog?" ...

"So we should make a wiki page, right?

Can we get a do-follow backlink from this future page?"

WUaS: For one, World Univ & Sch is a wiki, like Wikipedia, (for open teaching and learning, but free, and high quality - and potentially advertising-free), so you could potentially teach something in a blog post and add it here, for example - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Career_counseling (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects). Want to give it a go? (You can cite it the way you find other resources cited in this article).

Want to riff further with some of this (eg do you know people who know WUaS Miraheze MediaWiki and Wikidata, for example?), or the ideas for these emerging school wikis, send me another email.

"So we should make a wiki page, right?
Can we get a do-follow backlink from this future page?"

- and re your "Pitch: Let's Collaborate on Content."

World Univ & Sch seeks for all of our wiki pages to be informed by templates - and to be informative (i.e. excellent teaching and learning oriented, and not advertising). (And to work with our WUaS students, wiki Universitians, and end users - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University (as an example of a front end wiki page) - such as yourself, WUaS is planning brainstorming-wise for all 7.5 billion people on the planet, potentially with a Wikidata PIN #, like a Wikidata Q-item # but different). I think one (of a few) Template(s) already exists, but may be managed by Wikidata (Lydia and Markus and other Wikidatans), since our WUaS CC-4 licensing now appears on every one of the current 725 wiki pages.

Am learning further about 'do-follow' back links:
https://www.backlinks.com/2498-how-your-business-can-use-dofollow-backlinks/
https://mangools.com/blog/seopedia/dofollow-nofollow-backlinks/
https://raventools.com/marketing-glossary/dofollow-link/

Further, wiki World Univ & Sch seeks potentially to integrate with WikiTree - https://www.wikitree.com/ - with its goal of a single family tree (presumably for all 7.5 billion people) and especially regarding DNA and genetic data at https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University.

wiki @WorldUnivAndSch seeks potentially to integrate with #WikiTree https://www.wikitree.com with its goal of a single family tree (for all 7.5 billion people) & esp regarding DNA/genetic data at https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/genes
#RealisticVirtualEarthforGenetics -

https://twitter.com/WorldUnivAndSch/status/1272234354165469184?s=20

In creating Wiki pages at WUaS, such as the one you're thinking of, please remember that such pages' section headings, for example, may be translated into Wikidata's ~300 languages, and eventually into 7,117 known living languages as wiki schools for open teaching and learning. Native speakers of all 7117 living languages will become wiki Universitians - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - all teaching and learning with each other in their languages, and potentially re sharing genetic information too. This may also interface with an eventual small gene sequencer - https://twitter.com/geochurch/status/1199669550528258048?s=20 (per Harvard / MIT professor of genetics, George Church) - on our smartphones even.

Cheers, Scott

Realistic Virtual Earth for Genetics - https://twitter.com/hashtag/RealisticVirtualEarthForGenetics?src=hashtag_click -

8Online WUaS Universities in other countries, - an example (and in all African countries' main / official languages, and in all ~200 countries' languages):
As an example, future World University and Schools in individual countries and their official languages will emerge like Jordan World Univ & Sch: Jordan World University and School will emerge from here - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Jordan (https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nation_States) - in Arabic - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Arabic_language - but first The College at WUaS - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/The_College_at_World_University_and_School (first in English) - accessible with applications, eventually, and wiki schools - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/
And students will study edX courses in part for free-to-students' Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, M.D. and I.B. high school degrees online.

As you probably know, not only has the big free-to-students' educational project I'm developing not become financially operational yet (and WUaS became a non-profit in 2010, and a parallel for-profit in 2017) - so WUaS is very impoverished, but WUaS has posted every time on our open WUaS Monthly Business Meeting Agenda & News as well as Minutes the following:

"World University and School is sending you this because of your interest in free, online, higher education. If you don't want to receive these, please reply with 'unsubscribe' in the body of the email, leaving the subject line intact. Thank you."

And a number of WUaS Universitians have asked to be unsubscribed, for example; I'm an appreciator of individual choice in these matters, especially when they could be interested in getting information about such a product, and even benefit from it significantly too (like an online free-to-students' California Law School at WUaS, which Reed graduates could also matriculate at and graduate from, - and help create innovations-wise).

Also, WUaS is planning to code for matriculating students in all ~200 countries' official languages, native speakers in all 7,117 known living languages as WUaS wiki teachers and learners, and then for all 7.5 billion people on the planet - potentially for UBI experiments (in ~200 countries' languages, which our WUaS Law School would teach to) too, and significantly to potentially alleviate poverty, The Coronavirus tracing app, which Germans downloaded 6.5 million times in its 1st 24 hours - https://twitter.com/StanfordCDH/status/1273342209371197440?s=20 - may become a precursor to this. (WUaS, brainstorming-wise, is planning to code for 7.5 billion people for these 5 reasons - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/12/wild-pomegranate-burchellia-bubalina.html - and entrepreneurially too) ... so a listserv wouldn't work well re planning for matriculating students in all ~200 countries' languages, and speakers of all 7,117 and wiki Universitians.

Here are some brainstorming emails today and yesterday to mostly good Reedie friends from the first half of the 1980s - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/yellow-star-thistle-scott-macleod.html - ending with the email I included you on (re WUaS's 2 wings), and to the Reed Legal Network participants recently + - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2020/06/woodland-gilias-saltugilia-splendens.html -
and re my letting my Reedie friends know about this upcoming 'Reedpreneurs in the Pandemic Era' meeting. Thanks again.

WUaS Corporation / WUaS Press

AWUaS Press / Corp is now carrying Lego Robotics! WUaS is 'officially' carrying Lego Robotics, but not yet a reseller  - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html

BWUaS Educational Services' Store - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html - is newly grown, and is now carrying 7 products for sale (3 Lego Robotics' kits, and 4 books published by the Academic Press at World Univ & Sch).

CUBI experiments with regards to WUaS, and in planning for universities in ~200 countries and their official languages, with law faculty and students:
Just asked these questions, as I registered for this Stanford Law SVDX webinar on Tu June 9, 2020 - https://www.svdx.org/calendar/2020/6/9/esg-resiliency-in-a-time-of-turmoil-webinar

"Brainstorming-wise, what role could UBI experiments in all ~200 countries and their main languages, in order to distribute a single cryptocurrency (with block chain ledger), facilitate further ESG - Environmental, Social and Governance - goals, (and even conceptually regarding all 7.5 billion people, re universal, to alleviate poverty)? What if a hypothetical "Mine Pi" (coded by Stanford students), or a "Bitcoin" could even be listed, by a company with its Board, on the emerging Silicon Valley long term stock exchange (which has passed one SEC hurdle, I've read) - and, for example, to address the 40 million unemployment claims in the US due to the novel coronavirus pandemic? Thank you, Scott (sgkmacleod@worlduniversityandschool.org)"

And further: Each person in the world, all 7.5 billion people, a WUaS Wikidata PIN# (nee Wikidata Q-item #), beginning with matriculating WUaS students in all ~200 countries' official languages, and then speakers of all 7,117 known living languages as wiki teachers and learners at WUaS - since WUaS donated ourselves to Wikidata for co-development, and got the front end WUaS Miraheze MediaWiki in 2017 as a consequence? For ex. - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University .

... and backed somehow by some number of ~200 countries' central banks (post Euro in 19 out of 28 countries, and post dollar as de facto international currency)? This could be because WUaS Law Schools in all ~200 countries' official languages code for this, and our WUaS Law Faculty teach this too - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Law_School

D
The WUaS Press is seeking to publish a second actual-virtual, physical-virtual Harbin Hot Springs' ethnography, potentially publishing it to paper from within Google Street View, with text in the sidebar. See, for example: https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2018/12/leaf-re-conceiving-book-printable-on.html.

EWUaS Press -

Thoughts about how and when Google photos pops up photos from yesterday? Such photos are great for connecting (please share yours, when inclined)! And asking questions about such is also good for connecting (would love to see some of your Reed photos - and in a realistic virtual earth even in Google Street View with Time Slider, which you can add to !) ... it's kind of a computer science question with a human touch (but not one I touch on in - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/InfoTechNetworkSocGlobalUniv.html).

... Perhaps like a live interactive historical library - as a realistic virtual earth or  realistic virtual Harbin with avatar bots - where the people characterized in books can begin to speak to us as avatar bots in a realistic virtual earth, and where we could even do virtual anthropological field work in Google Street View with time slider with Maps, Earth, TensorFlow, Translate, and avatar bots ...

How could we go back to Reed in 1981, and hang out in Reed Commons again - as avatar bots, but with ever increasing avatar realism, both interactive and conversant (eg of us, Tym, in the Student Union, around then, or us Riely in Sisson dormitory in fall 1999)?

Lafadio, Joanne, Riely, Marsha, Gabrielle, Nancy, Mike, Pin, Gantt, David, Ed, Ma, Tym, Byron, Adam, Craig, Carla, Michael, Konrad, Nancy, JIm, All,

Is there a Reed College experience of the early 1980s? How could we all begin to create this in a Realistic Virtual Reed (conceptually like Google Street View with Time Slider, with SL for avatar bots, but realistic)?
Here's a definition of the Harbin experience (my actual-virtual ethnographic field site) -
Harbin experience def: "In its most common form, ‘The #HarbinExperience’ can be consciousness-altering and deeply transpersonal, with a feeling of unity, & mental & physical calmness. Many of our guests return to Harbin to reconnect with this experience">#RealisticVirtualHarbin~
https://twitter.com/scottmacleod/status/1262212832528969728?s=20

And here are so-called artificial humans - aka Neons - with some related ideas for creating a realistic virtual earth with people, and simply:
Smartphone video-to-3D #FilmTo3D with #GooglePoly> #RealisticArtificialHumans aka #SamsungNeons as #AvatarBot psychiatrists & post-Lacanian psychoanalysts (in California School of Psychoanalysis in Med Schs at WUaS) to HELP, & in #RealisticVirtualHarbin https://twitter.com/HarbinBook/status/1250187619373178880?s=20… ~
https://twitter.com/TheOpenBand/status/1251913316428967937?s=20
Good for eventual tele-robotic surgery as well - re actual-virtual, physical-digital ...
See you at Reed in 1981 (in our bodyminds then )? :)
Reed cheers,
Scott- https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/virtual%20Harbinhttps://www.amazon.com/author/scottmacleodworlduniversity
Here are some beginnings of where my further virtual Harbin Hot Springs' ethnographic research may head:

AMAZINGLY - WUaS Bookstore is now carrying Lego Robotics (but WUaS is not yet a reseller)
the WUaS Educational Services' Store - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html @WorldUnivAndSch is now carrying:

LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Core Set (High School and College): https://education.lego.com/en-us/products/lego-mindstorms-education-ev3-core-set/5003400

Now how to create a WUaS Engineering course out of this (and the other 2 kits) for some of our 5 students this autumn - and with Scratch programming? Here's one example integrating Lego Robotics' We Do 2.0 with Scratch -

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/386012815/ .
Also the 2 WUaS wings' web sites (as separate legal entities) have been significantly updated: - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/AcademicPress.html
All the best, Scottbookstore - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/bookstorerobotics - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/search/label/robotics

PSIt looks like there's a new Lego Mindstorms robotics' kit coming out this autumn, called Mindstorms' Robot Inventor 5-in-1 (building on Mindstorms EV3) and where students can also work with Python programming, as well as Scratch!
