'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, DASHER! now, DANCER! now, PRANCER and VIXEN!
On, COMET! on CUPID! on, DONNER and BLITZEN!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!

I think I've found all the TSWG announcements, except from 2018, "Harbin & Avatar Bots: Robotics & Tourism," regarding further access. Mahlon, any idea whether this TSWG announcement for my talk might be available? It was postponed from the spring to the autumn, and I can't find the announcement when I search for it. 

A few of my TSWG talks have videos, if you'd like to see, in a scholarly way, Susan, where my actual-virtual Harbin Hot Springs' project has come from, and where it's heading, and most of them have slides (except from 2012, where I'm hypothesizing I didn't use GDocs' slides).
Susan, I'm skeptical that a video from my TSWG presentation on 12/18/20 will be forthcoming (unless I'm able to upload my video talk in its 4 file formats somewhere, where one of the files is enormous), but creating TSWG videos into the future could be something to plan for beginning in January for the TSWG (and the simplest way could be via a new TSWG Youtube channel, and via UC Berkeley, with TSWG talks happening either in Zoom or Youtube; TSWG Zoom to a new TSWG Youtube channel could be best).

A few of my TSWG talks have videos, if you'd like to see, in a scholarly way, Susan, where my actual-virtual Harbin Hot Springs' project has come from, and where it's heading, and most of them have slides (except from 2012, where I'm hypothesizing I didn't use GDocs' slides).
Susan, I'm sceptical that a video from my TSWG presentation on 12/18/20 will be forthcoming (unless I'm able to upload my video talk in its 4 file formats somewhere, where one of the files is enormous), but creating TSWG videos into the future could be something to plan for beginning in January for the TSWG (and the simplest way could be via a new TSWG Youtube channel, and via UC Berkeley, with TSWG talks happening either in Zoom or Youtube; TSWG Zoom to a new TSWG Youtube channel could be best).

While $14,000 per student per year (University of California instate tuition, excluding books and robotics' kits) is the amount WUaS seeks to receive as reimbursement initially from some ~200 countries' departments of education re WUaS's best STEM CC-4 OpenCourseWare-centricity, - from Morocco, as a developing country in the world, WUaS will seek to ask for $600 per student per year from their federal department of education, which is a little less than the amount they give as scholarships to Moroccan students ($200 / 3 months, so $800) per year, and which will cover WUaS's direct costs to edX. 0In partnering with edX, World University and School seeks $50,000 to interoperate our emerging WUaS platform (in WUaS Wikibase and G Suite for Education), 150 4-year undergraduate students, and $17,000 per 50 students, or ~$51,000 for 150 students per year to pay to edX, potentially beginning in WUaS's May-August term; this comes to $101,000, with the tuition money WUaS pays to edX to be prepaid. This is to offer free-to-students' CC-4 OpenCourseWare-centric online Bachelor's degrees, (initially in conjunction with edX), beginning in 2021. 


1WUaS by the numbers' continued: WUaS plans to code for all 7.8 billion people on the planet, each a Wikidata Q-item # or similar - for free, highest quality people-to-people wiki teaching and learning, in each of all 7,117 known living languages as wiki schools for open teaching and learning (and eventually hiring faculty members for each of these languages).
WUaS seeks to hire 2.2 million employees (the size of W-M) on both wings, many working 10 hours / week, and in all ~200 countries, with many on the academic side. In doing so, WUaS seeks in these ~200 countries (per the Olympics) to create major online Universities for free-to-students' CC-4 OCW best STEAM Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, MD and IB high school degrees. While $ 14,000 per student per year (University of California instate tuition, excluding books and robotics' kits) is the amount WUaS seeks to receive as reimbursement initially from some ~200 countries' departments of education re WUaS's best STEM CC-4 OpenCourseWare-centricity, from Morocco, as a developing country in the world, WUaS will seek to ask for $600 per student per year from their federal department of education, which is a little less than the amount they give as scholarships to Moroccan students ($200 / 3 months, so $800), and which will cover WUaS's direct costs to edX. As WUaS's degrees come to offer the same value as MIT's or Stanford's degrees, WUaS will seek from the developed countries about $55,000 per year per student ('pegging' our reimbursement request from depts. of education on MIT's tuition), and from the developing countries about $14000 per year per student (instate tuition of the University of California), and less initially from the poorest countries. 

In creating online wiki schools for open teaching and learning  in all 7,117 known living languages and in all ~200 countries, with faculty members too, WUaS seeks to create free universal high quality people to people wiki education. 

2WUaS seeks to proceed with partnering with the University of New Mexico's Project ECHO Dashboard Replication Team for WUAS telemedicine and online clinical care in our ~200 planned online medical schools, and online ~200 teaching hospitals, but will inquire further about how this would work with Project ECHO regarding each of all ~200 countries, as major online universities at WUaS, and in their official and main languages. I'm normally a fan of more low tech classroom settings involving not much more than a chalkboard and pads and pens for the students; it's been proven that writing by hand aids memory better than typing and cuts down on the number of potential distractions in the classroom. There definitely still might be a pivot post-COVID to more digital learning, which comes with its own set of challenges given how detached it is. I'd love to find out how different teachers are dealing with the issue.
I'm curious how the AI would work with these avatars. Our physical bodies determine our thoughts to such an extent that it's an open question whether a digital version of an ancestor could really be called a full recreation. 
Most of my ancestors who came by way of Boston (specifically the Warrens) were English Puritans who went to their deaths with a certain stoicism. I think awaking them before the General Resurrection would be...jarring for them, to say the least. ;)

What textbook would you use, and even on an iPad or tablet? What continuing education credits would you take, or how would this work, if you were teaching civics / history in a highest achieving academic high school in Georgia? Could you choose the continuing education credits, from Harvard for example, or would you have to take the continuing education 'units' from the school you were employed by? 

I concluded my UC Berkeley Anthropology Tourism Studies' talk on Friday, 12/18/20, with a question about how to bring Sunheart, my friend and main informant in "Naked Harbin Ethnography" alive again in avatar form (since he passed away this autumn). I have about 10 audio interviews I made, which could become interactive, and the basis of AI chatbot developments which eventually could pass the Turing test). In a peacock spider blog post, with UC Santa Cruz virtual / world/ gaming archaeology conference, and mentioning UC Berkeley archaeology Ph.D., now York Univ lecturer, Colleen Morgan, that now seems to have disappeared (there are 2 peacock spider blog post URLS here ) - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2017/11/eos-genus-historical-reenactments-in.html - I found and posted a game of a hunter-gatherer in video game from 10,000 - 50,000 years ago, that could be the digital basis, pre-language, of avatars of our human ancestors from prehistory - WITH CONTINUAL ITERATION potential, and by all of us, with new evidence and new thinking. (Not being able to find the Peacock Spider blog post I'm thinking of with archaeological video games/representation, potentially because they've been edited, makes me want to create a backup of each post in a MS Word document or similar, on my own computers:).

(Identity and money probably play a role in Ancestry .com's historiography and genetics, sadly ...). Start with a digital avatar, and historical knowledge, linguistic knowledge, do digital history through building out an interactive avatar ... via ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy ... 
If 'identity politics' could be playing a role in all of these genealogy historical websites, as data sources, I'm in a Richard Rorty philosophy (even with hints of the social gospel, - and I think he had some Scottish ancestors :) ... and was a Univ Chicago Ph.D., and Princeton, Univ of Virginia and Stanford Professor of philosophy / comparative literature, who flipped the whole philosophy project :)
Cool stone of Ensign John Warren and Mary Warren, and thanks for sharing ... and interesting identity-wise especially ... I'm interested in bringing James Edward McLeod who emigrated from Scotland in the first half of the 1800s, to PEI, where he was a tailor and kiltmaker for example, and where more and more data is emerging thanks to Mark MacLeod in particular (now living in Maine, but a Stanford alum) ... and James Archibald Brown (mother's maiden name), also I think from Scotland to the US in the first half of the 1800s ... iteratively ... but worth getting a variety of avatar coding information technologies going first ... toward historical veracity, and conversational interactivity ... evidence, and thinking, as data sets, to talking and conversation  ...
