GE to Hire Ukrainian Teachers for Refugees

Germany is considering recruiting teachers from its refugee population in the hopes of reinforcing its school system, which is reportedly being overwhelmed as a result of an influx of children fleeing Ukraine.
Schools in Germany are reportedly struggling to handle a sudden influx of Ukrainian children into the country as a result of the ongoing Ukraine war.
As a result, the Federal Republic is now considering the possibility of recruiting teachers from its refugee population to bolster affected schools, with teachers also likely to be pulled out of retirement to help deal with the surge in students.
According to a report by Die Welt, the country’s Federal Minister for Education, Bettina Stark-Watzinger, is backing the scheme, along with authorities in Bavaria and Thuringia.
“Refugee Ukrainian teachers will certainly want to and be able to help,” said Stark-Watzinger regarding the overwhelmed system, which has been put under pressure as a result of Germany wanting to give every child arrival a slot in a German school.
Meanwhile, Bavaria’s Minister of Educa …

Nuclear war? Russia’s Lavrov says: Nyet
Article contentANTALYA — Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday he did not believe that Russia’s standoff with the West over Ukraine would lead to nuclear war. “I don’t want to believe, and I do not believe, that a nuclear war could start,” Lavrov told reporters when asked if there would be a nuclear war. Lavrov was speaking after talks in Turkey with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba. He said that rumors of a potential Russian attack against the former Soviet Baltic states “appear to be old hoaxes.” (Reporting by Guy Faulconbridge)

FM: ‘We Have Not Invaded’

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared that Russia had “not invaded Ukraine” and had no “plan to invade other countries,” following yet another round of failed peace talks between his country and Ukraine on Thursday.
The Russian government, under leader Vladimir Putin, invaded and colonized Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula in 2014, formally annexing the region into the country. Russia, extensive evidence has revealed since, has supported an insurgency in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region, arming and encouraging separatists there to fight against the Ukrainian military. Russia denies any role in Donbas but formally “annexed” Crimea in 2014, shortly after the fall of pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych after months of pro-democracy protests.
More recently, in February, Putin announced that he would recognize Donbas as consisting of two sovereign states, the Donetsk and Luhansk “People’s Republics,” and that those two “countries” had requested Russian military assistance to fight Ukraine. Putin ordered a full-scale military assault that continues to this day, focusing significantly on capturing territory far from Donbas, including the capital, Kyiv, which is about 500 miles from both Donetsk and Luhansk.
During his speech ann …

Feds Deny Ukrainian Family at U.S. Border

A family from Ukraine attempted to enter the United States from Tijuana to seek asylum. The 34-year-old mother, who asked to be identified as Sofia, and her 14, 12, and 6‑year-old children were summarily turned away on Wednesday by Customs and Border Protection officials citing Title 42 Coronavirus protections as justification.
A Wednesday report from the San Diego Tribune described the case of Sofia and her three children as they traveled from Ukraine and ultimately to Mexico. Sofia learned upon attempting to enter the United States that Title 42, a CDC emergency order to stop the spread of COVID-19, prevented her entry.
The Trump era emergency order that continues under the Biden administration allows CBP to deny entry of persons or items to stop the spread of COVID-19. Although the Department of Homeland Security has recently granted Temporary Protected Status to Ukrainians, the order only applies to nationals already in the United States.
Sofia and her three children left Ukrain …

Poland: No-fly zone would end it
WARSAW (Reuters) — Imposing a no-fly zone over Ukraine would help bring the conflict there to a faster conclusion and save lives, the Polish ambassador to Kyiv said on Thursday, as Russia continued a relentless bombardment of several cities.Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has been pleading for NATO to impose a no-fly zone, but the alliance is wary of any step that might draw it into direct conflict with Russia.“Every day of delay costs hundreds of human lives,” Bartosz Cichocki told private broadcaster TVN24 from Kyiv. “This is an extension of the conflict that could be ended much faster precisely thanks to the closure of the airspace.“The United States on Tuesday rejected a surprise offer by Poland to transfer its Russian-made MiG-29 fighter jets to a U.S. base in Germany and …

WH Just Issued Urgent Warning About Chemical And Bio Weapons

White House press secretary Jen Psaki warned of the possibility of a “false flag” attack by the Russians involving chemical or biological weapons after citing the proliferation of misinformation online.
Psaki released a statement Wednesday saying that the disinformation campaign might be preparing the way for a fake attack orchestrated to blame Ukrainians.
“We took note of Russia’s false claims about alleged U.S. biological weapons labs and chemical weapons development in Ukraine. We’ve also seen Chinese officials echo these conspiracy theories,” said Psaki in the statement.
“This is preposterous,” she added. “It’s the kind of disinformation operation we’ve seen repeatedly from the Russians over the years in Ukraine and in other countries, which have been debunked, and an example of the types of false pretexts we have been warning the Russians would invent.”

Major Study: Mask Mandates in Schools Don’t Work

This finding isn’t exactly news to regular readers, as we’ve been flogging the evidence and data – actual science – for many months. But with useless-to-harmful school mask mandates on their last legs, it’s important to drive the facts home over and over again, lest any of the adult harmers ever consider turning back the clock if and when new variants arise or surges occur. Masking children in schools simply is not a scientifically-supported mitigation strategy for combatting COVID. The latest vindication of that policy view comes from a large study (monitoring hundreds of thousands of students) out of Spain: MASK STUDY, SPAIN: “Face mask mandates in schools not associated with lower SARS-CoV‑2 incidence or transmission, suggesting this intervention not effective. Instead, age-dependency was most important factor” on transmission risk in school. CDC data on age-stratification below. https://t.co/hy6ffU4g0g pic.twitter.com/jezlsh8TSx— Monica Gandhi MD, MPH (@MonicaGandhi9) March 8, 2022Dr. Nicole Saphier reacts: This NEW study shows masks mandates in schools were not associated with lower CoV2 transmission. Also of note, the lowest cases, hospitalization and deaths were in those 1–4yes.Yet Americans are still masking the lowest risk populations with data arguing against it. https://t.co/S4UKOfxmpT— Nicole Saphier, MD (@NBSaphierMD) March 8, 2022She is, not so subtly, taking aim at the mayor of New York City – who recently made this nonsensical statement while defending the city’s truly insane policy of maintaining mask requirements for pre-schoolers, but not others: ICYMI: @NYCMayor tells @patkiernan he needs parents of kids under 5 to trust him and said they will be allowed to remove masks soon.He said he’s telling kids: “When you have big brothers and sisters, sometimes they do it first t …

TSA Mask Mandate Scheduled to End Next Week, But Will It Be Extended?
The Transportation Security Administration’s face mask requirement for airports, planes, buses and rail systems is still in place, even as many states lift their masking requirements, but how long could it last?
Following two extensions of its mandate, the TSA mask mandate is scheduled to expire on March 18, unless officials extend it once again.
It remains unclear if that will happen, however.
The agency put out a release Wednesday ahead of busy spring break travel, stating “the mask requirement remains in place and TSA will continue to assess the duration of the requirement in consultation with CDC.”
“TSA’s collaboration with industry and federal partners has been instrumental throughout this pandemic, and now we are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel as demonstrated by the rapid recovery of the travel in …

US House approves Biden’s ban on Russian oil

The US House of Representatives approved legislation Wednesday night that would ban Russian oil imports to the US in an effort to make restrictions announced by President Joe Biden this week week into law.According to The Associated Press, the bill goes further than Biden’s ban on importing Russian oil and also asks for a review of Russia’s status in the World Trade Organization and support sanctions on Russian officials for human rights violations. The legislation was approved 414–17, and now heads to the Senate. Those opposed included 15 Republicans reps, Lauren Boebert (CO), Madison Cawthorn (NC), Matt Gaetz (FL) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA), among them, with two far-left Democrats also opposed, Cori Bush (MO) and Ilhan Omar (MN).Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D‑TX), who helped draft the bill, acknowledged during debate that the it will likely make it costlier for Americans to fill up their gas tanks, but that the legislation “…is one way to demonstrate our solidarity.“Russian oil makes up about 8 percent US oil imports, and just days ago the Biden administration was reluctant to ban Russian oil imports.House minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R‑CA) stated that Rep …
