Doesn’t sound like Biden changed Xi’s mind about Russia during their phone call

Chinese media began posting details of the call hours ago, while it was in progress, a tactic they’ve taken lately in hopes of shaping public perceptions before the White House issues its own readout of what was said. That readout is now available. It’s not super encouraging.
I suppose it was naive to expect a breakthrough today in which Xi formally put some distance between China and Russia on Ukraine, never mind the sudden turn against Russia in Chinese media. The call was advertised beforehand as an opportunity for Biden to threaten Xi with sanctions if China granted Russia’s request for military and economic aid. Under those circumstances, it was unrealistic to expect Xi to make any sudden concessions. To do so would have looked weak.
Maybe he’ll make those concessions quietly in the weeks ahead? A boy can dream.

“He said in his memoir ‘Beautiful Things’ last year that he had no recollection of her at all – couldn’t remember the encounter that they had. And yet what his laptop shows is that they knew each other for at least almost a year.“Devine claimed Hunter Biden would bring her into his Washington office through the back door and that he told building staff that she was a scholastic basketball coach for his younger daughter.“So he knew her very well, but she had to chase him for about 10 months through the courts to get him to acknowledge paternity. MSNBC, CNN, PBS embrace Biden rhetoric on inflation, gas price hike: ‘Putin’s price hike a great’ message

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
Liberal pundits and journalists have claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is the true catalyst behind the rising cost of American goods, including gasoline, all while deflecting criticism aimed at President Biden and his administration. Despite the possible impact of the White House’s rampant spending and progressive energy policies, many outlets brushed and laughed off criticisms levied against the Biden administration, instead bending over backward to link inflation and the cost of oil explicitly to the turmoil in Ukraine.Last Thursday, Biden said the recent inflation report is representative of the negative impacts Americans are feeling as a result of Putin’s actions. THE WORST RUSSIA-UKRAINE MEDIA TAKES MAKE WAR ABOUT RACE, CLIMATE CHANGE, TRUMP, AND MORE“Today’s inflation report is a reminder that Americans’ budgets are being stretched by price increases and families are starting to feel the impacts of Putin’s price hike. The 7 Best Strength Exercises You’re Not Doing

Less than 25 percent of Americans over the age of 45 engage in strength-training exercises, which are actually among the most important exercises to stay fit and healthy. It’s a matter of fact that your muscle strength decreases with age… unless you do something to stop it.That “something” is strength training. Without it, by the time you’re in your 70s, your muscle strength and tone will have declined by roughly 25 percent from what you had in your mid-30s. You’ll lose up to 50 percent once you approach your 90s.
Yet, gaining muscle strength is only one benefit of strength training. This form of exercise also helps prevent osteoporosis, improves your range of motion, and ability to perform functional (day-to-day) movements and even, when done properly, can act as a form of aerobic exercise and even help you lose weight.
The more muscle mass you have, the higher your resting metabolic rate. Unlike traditional cardio, strength training causes you to continue burning more calories for up to 72 hours after the exercise is over through a process known as afterburn.
Many are also not aware that strength training has been shown to slow cellular aging, helping you to live a longer, healthier life. It also increased BDNF brain derived neurotropic factor th …

Ocasio-Cortez says fossil fuel industry to blame for missing and murdered indigenous women
Socialist Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York said that the crisis of missing and murdered indigenous women was connected to the proliferation of fossil fuel extraction cites in the United States.
Ocasio-Cortez was speaking at a congressional meeting on “The Neglected Epidemic of Missing BIPOC Women and Girls” when she made the comments on March 3.
“Today, I want to discuss part of this crisis that is all too often overlooked, but whose evidence shows that there’s a very meaningful connection here: The correlation between fossil fuel extraction sites and abductions and murders of indigenous women across the United States,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
She asked Angel Charley, the executive director of the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women, to explain why they believed the two were related. Charley said that extraction sites would often lead to hastily organized “man camps” of workers in regions with indigenous and other minori …

Case Against Direct Military Intervention

Over at The Strategist, Kevin James had a piece called, “The case for direct military intervention in Ukraine.” Given that James is not alone in his desire to insert American forces into the war between Russia and Ukraine, it seemed like a column that deserved a response. Quite frankly, James’ reasoning seemed a bit foggy, but here’s the main thrust of his argument:Yet this war is destined to end in a terrible defeat for the West unless it changes its strategy. The reason is simple: you can’t wage an economic war against a hostile, nuclear-armed opponent if you accept whatever nuclear red lines your opponent chooses to proclaim. If Ukraine does fall and Russia responds to the economic war with actions backed by nuclear threats, the West is either going to have to either call Russia’s bluff or choose defeat—with all of the terrible consequences that that would entail. So, i …
