Wuhan Lab Study: Make Virus More Lethal
A scientific journal published by top Wuhan Institute of Virology researchers shared studies appearing to engage in gain-of-function type research, a controversial method of studying pathogens that can increase their lethality.
The Wuhan Institute of Virology is believed to have engaged in the risky form of research regarding bat coronaviruses, as now-deleted webpages reveal the lab manipulating bat coronaviruses to “replicate efficiently in primary human airway cells and achieve in vitro titers equivalent to epidemic strains of SARS-CoV.”
Now, the latest edition of the lab’s journal, Virologica Sinica, appears to contain a similar style of research with the H7N9 virus in chickens and mice. The publication’s Editor-in-Chief is Wuhan’s infamous “bat lady,” Shi Zhengli, who is the lab’s premier bat coronavirus researcher and a recipient of funds from Anthony Fauci through Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance.
Virologica Sinica published the study “Combined Insertion of Basic and Non-basic Amino Acids at Hemagglutinin Cleavage Site of Highly Pathogenic H7N9 Virus Promotes Replication and Pathogenicity in Chickens and Mice” in it …

Turkey to block Sweden, Finland NATO bids

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
NATO’s expansion amid the most significant threat to Europe since World War II appears unlikely as Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday reiterated his opposition to NATO membership for Sweden and Finland. Erdogan had suggested in recent days that he could cause trouble for Stockholm and Helsinki as they tried to join the 30-member alliance. But the Turkish President’s comments Thursday spelled out a more definite conclusion to the European nations bolstering their security defenses through NATO.

And they will host the PKK, the YPG,” he added. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg championed the bids by Sweden and Finland to join the alliance Wednesday and claimed, “All allies agree on the importance of NATO enlargement.”“We all agree that we must stand together, and we all agree that this is a hist …

The Biden administration has announced $100 million in arms funding to Ukraine on top of the newly approved $40 billion aid package. On Thursday, the Senate approved $40 billion in aid for Ukraine as the nation continues to fight back against Russia’s invasion.Just hours later, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the United States would be sending an additional $100 million in arms.In a statement, Blinken explained that Ukrainian forces have “remained firmly in the fight” against Russia, but are in need of assistance, namely arms and other equipment.“Pursuant to a delegation from the President,” Blinken said, “I am authorizing our tenth drawdown of additional arms and equipment for Ukraine’s defense from US Department of Defense inventories, valued at up to $100 million.”“This brings total US military assistance to Ukraine to approximately $3.9 billion in arms and equipment since Russia launched its brutal and unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24.“The United States is committed to helping Ukraine continue to meet its defense needs and build its future capabilities,” he continued, “as well as to bolster Allies and partners across NATO’s Eastern Flank and the broader region.“The increasing amount of money has been criticized by Republicans, however only eleven voted against the recently passed $40 billion aid package. America Now The Laughing Stock Of The World

Vladimir Putin’s state TV propagandists have targeted the new White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a rant where they suggested she only got the job because she is black and gay.
The Russian state TV hosts laughed as they said Jean-Pierre will be ‘replaced’ in a month or two by a ‘white, heterosexual male’.
They claimed Jean-Pierre, who is the first black, gay and immigrant woman to hold the position of White House press secretary, was not chosen for her ‘professional abilities’.
Instead, the TV hosts continued with a racist and sexist rant on the state-owned Russian television channel Russia 1 where they said that she only got the job because she is a ‘dark-skinned immigrant’.
Jean-Pierre, 47, on Monday became the first black, openly gay White House press secretary. She was born in Fort-de-France, Martinique and is the daughter of Haitian parents. Her family moved to New York City when she was five.

Baby formula shortage: Former FDA official rips Biden for ‘smoke and mirrors’ response

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
The baby formula crisis has parents in a panic, and some critics are warning President Biden hasn’t acted fast enough to reverse the shortages. BIDEN INVOKES DEFENSE PRODUCTION ACT, ‘OPERATION FLY FORMULA’ TO ADDRESS SHORTAGEFormer FDA associate commissioner Peter Pitts ripped President Biden’s decision to invoke the Defense Production Act over the crisis, arguing there has “never been a shortage” on “Fox & Friends First.” “It’s tough talk,” Pitts told co-host Todd Piro. “It’s smoke and mirrors, and it’s insulting to American parents. You know what makes up baby formula? Rice starch, corn syrup and protein concentrate from cows’ milk. Commodities. There’s no shortage. Never been a shortage.”“So the Defense Production Act, it’s just smoke and mirrors,” he continued. “It’s insulting. American parents want to know when the problem is going to be solved, not soundbites that are ridiculous from the outset.“BABY FORMULA SHORTAGE BILLS PASS HOUSE AMID GOP CLAIMS DEMS ARE ‘COVERING UP’ THE REAL PROBLEMBiden invoked the Defense Production Act on Wednesday in order to mitigate the baby formula crisis, authorizing the Department of Defense to pick up formula overseas.
Signs at a local Target inform shoppers that they are limited to 4 containers each due to the shortage in baby formula.
(Fox News Digital)The move also aims to ensure companies have the necessary ingredients to expedite additional formula production. “They should have talked to retail outlets to make sure there was no hoarding or panic buying, and then been transparent and truthful, with American parents throughout the process,” Pitts said. “But they didn’t do that.“CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPBaby formula supply has plummeted 40% in recent weeks, causing parents to panic as store shelves remain empty. Pitts insisted the White House should have acted sooner, educating parents on the current situation and wh …

Biden Invokes DPA Amid Baby Formula Shortage

Joe Biden on Wednesday invoked the 1950 Defense Production Act in an attempt to boost the supply of baby formula.
Biden asked Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra and Agriculture Secretary Thomas Vilsack to “take all appropriate measures available to get additional safe formula into the country immediately.”
As previously reported by Human Events News, Nestle is flying baby formula from Europe to the United States in an effort to ease nationwide shortages.
The Swiss food and drink manufacturer is flying Gerber baby food formula supplies to the United States from the Netherlands and Alfamino baby formula from Switzerland.
Abbott Nutrition, Mead Johnson & Company LLC, Gerber Products Company and Perrigo Company PLC control almost 90 percent of the infant formula market, but stores across the U.S. have been struggling to keep inventory on the shelves due to supply chain problems.

Why Hunter’s secrets are REALLY about Joe
Almost every week, new incriminating evidence is mined from Hunter’s wild laptop. And the proof is mounting that President Joe Biden is lying about his knowledge of his family’s crooked deal-making. Everyone knows Hunter Biden is a seriously degenerate guy. Anyone who has handled his infamous laptop needs a tetanus shot. The salacious stuff on the laptop is sad and pathetic for sure, but that stuff is NOT what is most relevant to the United States. Glenn Beck exposes how the laptop is REALLY about Joe Biden, his abuse of power as vice president, and his ongoing denials now as president. Now that the 2020 election has passed and their man is in office, the mainstream media have suddenly decided to admit Hunter’s laptop is not Russian disin …

New: FBI Agents Misled DOJ On Trump-Russia

Hillary Clinton’s campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann is currently on trial for lying to the FBI about his role in pushing data pertaining to alleged communications between Trump and the Russian Alfa Bank. According to Special Counsel John Durham, Sussmann lied when he brought that data to the FBI’s General Counsel James Baker as part of the Clinton campaign’s efforts to trigger an FBI investigation of her opponent, Donald Trump. Specifically, Sussmann allegedly wrote Baker a text message claiming he was not representing anyone in providing the information when, in fact, he was representing the Clinton campaign.
In a surprising move, Sussmann’s defense team last week disclosed three sets of handwritten Department of Justice (DOJ) notes of a March 6, 2017 meeting between high-ranking DOJ and FBI officials. Durham gave the notes written by DOJ officials Tashina Gauhar, Mary McCord, and Scott Schools to Sussmann’s team as part of Durham’s discovery o …

Youngkin: Garland will allow protests at justices’ homes

Virginia’s governor is skeptical that the country’s top law enforcement official is going to make sure laws are upheld evenly.
Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin told Jesse Watters he doesn’t think Attorney General Merrick Garland is going to enforce the law when it comes to protesters picketing outside the homes of Supreme Court justices.
“Gov. Hogan and I have absolutely demanded that Attorney General Garland enforce the federal statute, which is to put people in jail for parading and picketing in front of the justices’ homes,” Youngkin said Wednesday night. “I don’t think he will, and he absolutely should. It’s clear in the statute that that’s illegal, and he should enforce it.”
YOUNGKIN SEEKS ‘EXPANDED SECURITY PERIMETER’ FOR THREE SUPREME COURT JUSTICES
Youngkin and Gov. Larry Hogan (R‑MD) wrote a joint letter to Garland on May 11, noting that “federal law prohibits picketing the home of a judge with the aim to influence the judge’s decision making process.”

What Is China Learning From Russia’s War?
Beyond Europe, the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is being felt most keenly 5,000 miles away, on the island of Taiwan. Many Taiwanese worry that they might be the next to suffer an invasion by a more powerful neighbor. Those fears are not unreasonable. While Ukraine and Taiwan differ in many ways, as relatively young democracies living alongside larger authoritarian neighbors with long-standing designs on their territory, the two face strikingly similar strategic predicaments.Much as Russian President Vladimir Putin has described restoring the “historical unity” between Russia and Ukraine as a kind of spiritual mission, Chinese President Xi Jinping believes that reuniting mainland China with what he views as its lost province of Taiwan will help cement his place in history.
