Popularity of mail-in voting plummets

Even with all of the chaos that was seen in 2020 because of massive amounts of mail-in voting during the pandemic, congressional Democrats have continued to push “voting reform” bills that make it permanent on a federal level. We were repeatedly assured that too many people were having a hard time voting, and ubiquitous voting by mail would boost participation because people simply like it better. They may want to take a fresh look at that theory following the first rounds of primary voting heading into this year’s midterms. While total turnout has been fairly typical or even slightly elevated thus far in the early voting states, the Associated Press finds that the lion’s share of votes cast thus far have been in person. By contrast, the number of people opting to mail in their ballots has sunk like a stone. Th …

Sen.‘s Family Bought Stock Before He Voted

Democratic Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal recently disclosed that an investment fund managed by his wife’s family bought between $1 million and $2 million in tech company stocks, including shares in Intel. Blumenthal’s disclosure came three weeks before a Senate hearing where Intel’s CEO backed legislation handing billions in subsidies to the semiconductor industry. Five days after the hearing, Blumenthal voted in favor of the America COMPETES Act, which grants $52 billion in subsidies to the semiconductor industry. Democratic Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal disclosed in early March that an investment fund managed by his wife’s family purchased between $250,000 and $500,000 worth of Intel stock. A little over three weeks later, he voted for legislation handing billions in subsidies to semiconductor manufacturers that could benefit Intel. The senator’s actions seem to indicate a conflict of interest, congressional …

Powell: Can’t Promise We Avoid Recession

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Thursday that persistent supply chain disruptions and “huge” geopolitical events happening around the globe could foil the Fed’s attempts at engineering a so-called “soft landing” for the U.S. economy, with the central bank chief’s statement amounting to an acknowledgment of the possibility of a recession.Powell made the remarks in an interview on NPR’s “Marketplace,” in which he was asked whether he’s more concerned about the prospect of high inflation sticking around or the notion that the Fed’s monetary tightening response to surging prices could spark a recession.
“It’s a very challenging environment to make monetary policy,” Powell replied. “Our goal, of course, is to get inflation back down to 2 percent without having the economy go into recession, or, to put it this way, with the labor market remaining fairly strong.”
Calling price stability the “bedrock” on which the economy rests, Powell insisted that the Fed’s key objective is to tame ru …

Sanders: Manchin, Sinema ‘Sabotaged’ Biden

Senator Bernie Sanders (I‑VT) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Sens. Joe Manchin (D‑VW) and Kyrsten Sinema (D‑AZ) “sabotaged” President Joe Biden’s agenda.
Sanders said, “We passed early on in the Biden administration one of the most significant pieces of legislation in modern history in this country, The American Rescue Plan, which in my view, did a whole lot to help people deal with the economic turmoil that we saw as a result of COVID  and massive unemployment. What we have got to do right now is, it’s not hard. You listen to the American people and not wealthy campaign contributors. What does that mean? It means that right now, you lower the outrageous costs in this co …

Biden To Remove 5 From Foreign Terrorist List

Democrat President Joe Biden is reportedly set to remove five extremist groups from the official Foreign Terrorist Organization list.Secretary of State Antony Blinken reportedly claimed in a notification to Congress that each of the organizations is now defunct.“The groups include Basque Fatherland and Liberty, also known as ETA; Aum Shinrikyo, a Japanese doomsday cult; Kahane Kach, a radical Orthodox Jewish group, as well as two Islamic groups, the Mujahideen Shura Council in the Environs of Jerusalem, and Gama’a al-Islamiyya,” Fox News reported.“The Biden administration dragged out briefings about this for months, then went radio silent, then quietly rushed it through hoping no one would notice until it was a done deal,” a senior Republican congressional aide told the network. “Republicans on the Hill believe this was a dress rehearsal for trying to remove terrorism sanctions on the IRGC.”The move comes as Biden is reportedly considering …

Can the Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) Survive?

Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine –

Can the Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) Survive?

By Dr. Oscar L. Ware

The world woke up on February 24, 2022, to the news of Russian military forces moving into Ukraine under the guise of protecting dual Russian-Ukrainian nationalist interest. This left the rest of the world, most notably former nuclear weapons states (NWS) and those that fall under the security umbrella of an NWS wondering — how might this invasion affect them. The Russian military’s early strategy has perplexed many experts and observers, and in smaller circles — was predicted. Unfortunately, the more protracted this war, the more barbaric and political it has become. This military action was preceded by Russia’s invasion and annexation of Crimea in March 2014.

The annexation of Crimea garnered global condemnation; however, there appeared to be a lack luster response from Western nations to include the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) states. And many view NATO’s response as Kabuki Theater as it continues to pretend a negotiated peace which will restore Ukrainian borders to pre-invasion is possi …

Daily Wire’s Candace Owens Reveals How She Brought BLM Founder To Tears With A Polite Request For Comment | The Daily Wire

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has a burgeoning real estate portfolio, the ears of woke corporations throughout the country, and … a very thin skin. The beleaguered activist, whose California home-buying spree last year raised questions, accused The Daily Wire’s Candace Owens of harassing her and putting her family in danger in a tearful Instagram post. But Owens on Saturday released video of her May 7 visit to Cullors’ home, and it’s hard to see what the fuss was about.“Hello,” Owens begins, apparently talking to a guard from outside a gate in front of Cullors’ home. “I was just looking to speak to whomever was at this property, because it’s listed as a Black Lives Matter property. Sir? Hello? We’re not trying to harass you. We’ll gladly leave. We’re just wondering if we can speak to anybody.”Whatever the guard says in reply is inaudible, but Owens ends the exchange on a pleasant note.“Thank you, sir,” she says. “Have a great day.”BREAKING! I am pre-releasing the footage of me showing up at one of Black Lives Matter founder’s, Patrisse Cullors, multiple mansions. Remember she fake cried and said I harassed her?LIAR. I kindly spoke to a white security guard (who remain …

Trump endorses front-runner Mastriano in Pennsylvania GOP gubernatorial primary

PITTSBURGH — Former President Donald Trump endorsed state Sen. Doug Mastriano in Pennsylvania’s crowded Republican gubernatorial field Saturday, a blow to efforts by some Republicans in the state who recently attempted to consolidate the field around a candidate they believe would fare better in a general election in November.
Mastriano, who is the front-runner in the field just days before Tuesday’s primary, has faced criticism from some Republicans who feel his hard-right platform may help him win the Republican primary by a plurality but then go on to lose the November general election in the purple state.
“There is no one in Pennsylvania who has done more, or fought harder, for Election Integrity than State Senator Doug Mastriano,” Trump said. “He has revealed the Deceit, Corruption, and outright Theft of the 2020 Presidential Election, and will do something about it. … He is a fighter like few others, and has been with me right from the beginning, and now I have an obligation to be with him.”
TRUMP TALKS UP OZ AS BARNETTE CLIMBS IN PENNSYLVANIA SENATE GOP PRIMARY POLLS
The endorsement was seen as a hedge, as his selection for the Senate, television personality Dr. Mehmet Oz, is in a tight three-way race with businessman David McCormick and conservative commentat …
