Congress holds historic public UFO hearing, as military struggles to understand ‘mystery’ flying phenomena

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
A House Intelligence subcommittee Tuesday is holding the first congressional hearing on UFOs in 50 years, as building evidence on the sightings raises more questions than answers. “There are a lot of unexplained aerial phenomena. We don’t know what they are, and they can’t be easily rationalized as weather phenomenon or balloons or anything else. So it’s quite a mystery,” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D‑Calif., said of the hearing. “We’re going to press them on some very serious issues,” Rep. Andre Carson, D‑Ind., who chairs the House Intelligence Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Counterproliferation Subcommittee, added.

(Department of Defense)REDACTED CLASSIFIED UFO REPORT REVEALS NEW INFO ON ‘SHAPES,’ INVESTIGATION INTO ‘UNEXPLAINED’ PHENOMENACarson said in a statement announcing the hearing that it’s crucial for the government to “seriously evaluate and respond to any potential national security risks – especially those we do not fully understand.” The hearing on what the U.S. government officially calls “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” (UAP), begins at 9 a.m. ET. It comes after years of unexplained sightings, primarily by U.S. military personnel, of flying objects, which often had no “discernable” propulsion systems and unusual “movement patterns.“A 2021 report – a redacted classified version of which was published by The Black Vault earlier this year – said the government recorded 144 reports from 2004 to 2021, including 80 tha …

Migrant Encounters Hit Record High As Biden Looks To End Title 42 Next Week | The Daily Wire
Migrant encounters at the southern border hit a record high in April, according to new filings from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Fox News’ Bill Melugin reported. The record-setting month comes as President Joe Biden looks to end Title 42, a Trump-era policy allowing Border Patrol to turn away migrants at the border due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “BREAKING: There were 234,088 migrants encountered at the Southern border in April, per a DHS court filing today. That’s the highest number in DHS history,” Melugin tweeted Monday afternoon. He added that “117,989 migrants were released into the U.S. in April” and “113,248 were removed, including 96,908 expelled via Title 42.”BREAKING: There were 234,088 migrants encountered at the Southern border in April, per a DHS court filing today. Senate Advances Bill to Give Ukraine Billions

The Senate voted on Monday to advance legislation that would provide $40 billion in aid to Ukraine, while Americans continue to suffer from food shortages and reel from inflation.
The Senate voted to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed on H.R. 7691, the Ukraine Supplemental Aid Package. The motion passed 81–11. This means that the Senate can begin debate on the Ukraine aid package.
The legislation would provide over $20 billion in military supplies and roughly $20 billion in humanitarian, economic, and other aid to Ukraine.
While Senate Republicans and Democrats overwhelmingly voted to advance the legislation, many populist-leaning Republicans such as Sens. Josh Hawley (R‑MO) and Rand Paul (R‑KY) have opposed the legislation.
Sens. Paul, Hawley, Mike Crapo (R‑ID), Bill Hagerty (R‑TN), Mike Braun (R‑IN), Marsha Blackburn (R‑TN), John Boozman (R‑AR), Roger Marshall (R‑KS), Cynthia Lummis (R‑WY), and Tommy Tuberville (R‑AL) voted against the bill.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D‑NY) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch M …

Jack Nicklaus: ‘Cancel culture’ got Trump golf course
The PGA Championship was supposed to take place at Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster this week, and the fact that it is not remains a point of bitterness for supporters of the 45th president.
Jack Nicklaus, the 82-year-old legendary former golfer who won a record 18 majors, is among those who do not believe the tournament should have been moved to Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla.
“I like Seth Waugh,” Nicklaus told Fire Pit Collective of the CEO of the PGA Tour. “Seth didn’t need this job. He took the job because he thought he could give the PGA of America some good guidance. And I think he’s doing that. But this move is cancel culture. Donald Trump may be a lot of things, but he loves golf and he loves this country. H …

Wokes Try To Cancel Yankee For Old Tweets

New York Yankees pitching star Nestor Cortes has gone dark on Twitter after select users targeted the lefty for using racially insensitive language.
And in typical cancel culture fashion, the tweets proved to be entirely irrelevant.
The incriminating tweets were rap lyrics first posted by Cortes 10 years ago, when the pitcher was only 17 years of age.
People coming for Nestor Cortes’ high school tweets are the biggest losers of all losers.— Pat Burke (@PlanePat23) May 16, 2022In an attempt to quell fires sparked by the woke mob, Cortes decided to deactivate his Twitter as the race-bent narrative attempts to cancel the young pitcher’s dominant run.
Cortes released a statement on the newfound tweets.
“I felt like it wasn’t the right message that I wanted to send out when I was 17 years old,” Cortes said on Monday.
“Those happened 10 years ago. I deactivated my Twitter to clean stuff up.”
“It’s not acceptable,” he added. “I think I could have managed myself and said stuff differently. But I’m here today to say that I’m going to work on it and fix it.”
As reported by OutKick’s Gary Sheffield Jr., “Cortes, 27, has been one of the best pitchers in the majors this season, sporting a 1.35 ERA after seven starts.”

Sen. Lee To Introduce FORMULA Act
Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee’s office said on Monday that he is finalizing a new bill he hopes to introduce to combat the nation’s growing baby formula shortage. The Fixing Our Regulatory Mayhem Upsetting Little Americans (FORMULA) Act is designed to address challenges in the baby formula supply chains that have seen the out-of-stock rate for formula tripling from rates just six months ago, according to the senator’s office.“American babies are going hungry and the federal government is standing in the way. Current policies, tariffs, quotas, bans, and regulations are preventing mothers and fathers from being able to make the best choices to feed their babies,” Lee wrote in a statement.American babies are going hungry and the federal government is standing in the way. SCOTUS Limits Deportation Ruling Appeals
Illegal immigrants have only limited grounds to appeal deportation orders to the federal courts, the Supreme Court ruled Monday in a decision in which conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch led the dissent, joined by his three Democrat-appointed colleagues, the Washington Examiner reported on Monday.
The 5–4 decision makes it more difficult for those involved in deportation proceedings to get a federal court to review factual determinations that were made by an immigration court about the procedure.
The ruling, however, does not affect the ability of courts to weigh in on cases involving matters of law.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote in the majority opinion that the wording Congress used in the law governing relief from deportation prohibits court “review of any judgment regarding the granting of relief. This plainly includes factual findings.”
The case before the justices involved Pankajkumar Patel, an illegal immigrant who has been in the U.S. …

McConnell Calls on Biden to Designate Russia a State Terrorism Sponsor

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Sunday said he would support Joe Biden in naming Russia a state sponsor of terrorism, which would lift the sovereign immunity protections that shield the Kremlin from civil lawsuits.
“I think it’s a good idea, and I would support that,” McConnell, who is in Stockholm after visiting Ukraine, said.
“The president could do it on his own, and I would urge him to do it,” he told reporters, per Just the News.
Indeed, McConnell and Sens. John Barrasso, John Cornyn and Susan Collins met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday.
“Ukraine is not asking anybody else to fight their fight. They only ask for the tools they need for self-defense,” McConnell wrote in a press release. “Our delegation reaffirmed to President Zelenskyy that the United States stands squarely behind Ukraine and will sustain our support until Ukraine wins this war.”
Last week, Sen. Lindsey Graham joined Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal to introduce a resolution calling on Secretary of State Antony Blinken to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
As of now, the four countries with this designation are Cuba, North Korea, Iran and Syria.

Celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month

Every May, the United States celebrates Jewish American Heritage Month to honor the contributions of Jewish Americans to our country’s history and culture.
For nearly four centuries, since the arrival of the first Jewish settlers in 1654 in modern-day New York City, the Jewish people have been an impactful and influential part of the fabric of America.
Like so many of America’s earliest settlers, Jewish migrants first came to the New World in search of religious freedom. Yet today, Jewish Americans are tragically targeted for their faith.
According to a 2021 survey by the American Jewish Committee, 90 percent of Jewish Americans believe antisemitism is a problem in the United States, and 82 percent report that antisemitism has increased.
Despite facing persecution, discrimination, and loss, Jewish people throughout history have overcome adversity and used their skills and talents for the good of society.
As President Donald Trump said in his 2020 Proclamation on Jewish American Heritage Month, “From the arts and sciences, to business and public service, nearly every facet of our society has benefitted from the talent, inspiration, vision, expertise, ingenuity, and sacrifice of Jewish Americans.”
Consider Rebecca Gratz, a Jewish American woman who, according to the Jewish Women’s Archive, “worked to create an environment in which women could be fully Jewish and fully American.” In 1801, Gratz helped establish the first nons …

Fauci: If Trump Re-Elected, I Won’t Serve

White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci said on CNN Sunday that he would not serve in that capacity should Donald Trump regain the White House in 2024. Note to Dr. Fauci: Trump would not ask you to serve and would, in fact, probably kick you to the curb his first minute back in office.

The top doc, interviewed by Trump-hater Jim Acosta, simply laughed and said, “well, no” when asked if he would work for the Don again. He added:
“If you look at the history of what the response was during the administration, I think, you know, at best, you can say it wasn’t optimal. History will speak for itself about that.”
The COVID response has been pretty awful since Trump left office, however, so the argument blaming Trump for everything falls flat. In fact, one of the few constants in the pandemic has been the ubiquitous television appearances of Fauci. He’s been in charge since the start of the virus, and it hasn’t gone well. More COVID deaths actually have occu …
