Jim Jordan shares allegations of FBI ‘purge’ over Jan. 6

Multiple former FBI officials are coming forward with information suggesting the bureau is “purging” employees with conservative viewpoints, according to House Judiciary Committee Republicans.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R‑OH), the ranking member of the panel, sent a letter to Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday outlining new allegations that relate to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
‘ALL OVER THE AIRWAVES’: TRUMP-ALIGNED REPUBLICANS READY PLAN TO DROWN OUT JAN. 6 HEARINGS
“In one such example, the FBI targeted and suspended the security clearance of a retired war servicemember who had disclosed personal views that the FBI was not being entirely forthcoming about the events of January 6. The FBI questioned the whistleblower’s allegiance to the United States despite the fact that the whistleblower honorably served in the United States military for several years — including deployments in Kuwait and Iraq — valiantly earning multiple military commendation medals,” a press release for the letter states.
“In addition, another whistleblower, who has since left the FBI, has informed us that faced retaliation for criticizing the FBI in an anonymous survey circulated by the [REDACTED] to employees following January 6. The FBI allegedly escalated an adverse personnel action against this employee after [REDACTED] commented on the survey, which sought feedback about the [REDACTED] actions ‘during the recent crisis/command post’ event. The employee, too, was never disciplined or reprimanded until after [REDACTED] criticize …

YELLEN NOW SEES ‘UNACCEPTABLE’ LEVELS OF INFLATION…

By David Lawder and Andrea ShalalWASHINGTON (Reuters) ‑U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen told senators on Tuesday that she expected inflation to remain high and the Biden administration would likely increase the 4.7% inflation forecast for this year in its budget proposal.During a Senate Finance Committee hearing, Yellen said that the United States was dealing with “unacceptable levels of inflation,” but that she hoped price hikes would soon begin to subside.U.S. Consumer Price Index inflation has been tracking above 8% in recent months, the highest readings in over 40 years and well above President Joe Biden’s administration’s forecast for its fiscal 2023 budget. But another metric, the core Personal Consumption Expenditures price index excluding volatile food and energy costs, has begun to cool, edging down to 4.9% in April“I do expect inflation to remain high although I very much hope that it will be coming down now,” she said.Yellen repeatedly rejected Republican assertions that inflation was being fueled by …

Commerce Sec: Not much more to be done on gas prices…

“Unfortunately, that is the brutal reality,” Raimondo said in response to CNN’s Kate Bolduan saying there’s not much action left that President Joe Biden can take. She continued, “You know, this is, in large part, caused by (Russian President Vladimir) Putin’s aggression. You know, since Putin move troops to the border of Ukraine, gas prices have gone up over $1.40 a gallon, and the President is asking for Congress and others for potential ideas. But as you say, the reality is that there isn’t very much more to be done.“The bleak assessment from the Commerce secretary comes as prices have been spiking for weeks, causing pain at the pump for Americans heading into the summer and political headaches for the Biden administration amid already-high inflation. The national average price for regular gasoline jumped another five cents on Tuesday to a fresh record of $4.92 a gallon, according to AAA. That’s up by 30 cents over the past week and 62 cents in the past month. Raimondo on Tuesday pointed to the possibility of a gas tax holiday, which would require congressional action. And she outlined the record-setting steps Biden has already taken to tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserves, which has had a negligible effect on prices. Prices won’t go down, she said, until the war in Ukraine is over. “But again, especially what we need to do is get Putin to end this war. And that is also something that we are working as hard as we can to do. … The President is thinking about this every day and pushing his team and Congress to come up with any idea possible because we’re deeply aware of how this is hurting American families,” Raimondo said. Pressed on whether she was comfortable with Biden meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman next month to help potentially alleviate gas prices, Raimondo suggested Biden is “going to use every arrow in his quiver in order to bring down gas prices for Americans.“She added that she has “full trust” in Biden’s judgment on such a meeting. She also reiterated that the administration is looking into lifting some Trump-era tariffs on China, but declined to get into specifics. …

Another 5‑Cents: Gas $4.919

(The Center Square) – Gas prices hit a national average price of $4.92 a gallon Tuesday, according to AAA. That is the highest price for regular unleaded gas on record, marking yet another record-setting day for gas prices as the national average nears $5 per gallon.

Motorists in 13 states are now paying an average of $5 a gallon or more. New Jersey and Massachusetts joined Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Michigan, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.

Right now, Americans are paying about double the prices they paid when President Joe Biden was elected. Gas prices have consistently risen, hitting new record highs every day for more than a week.

The ‘Mother Of All Caravans’ Headed To US Border, Up To 11,000 Illegals

Thousands of migrants have formed a massive caravan determined to travel by foot from southern Mexico to the United States’s southern border, specifically Texas.

A group of between 6,000 and 11,000 people departed Tapachula, a city near Mexico’s border with Guatemala, Monday, according to multiple reports. The caravan was organized by Luis Garcia Villagran, who organized previous unsuccessful caravans from southern Mexico in 2021 that never made it to the U.S.

Unlike Villagran’s previous attempts, this effort is expected to grow to 15,000 participants, which would make it the largest group since the phenomenon of mass migration movements began early on in the Trump administration. The timing of this latest caravan is no coincidence, according to Villagran.

Leaders from across the Western Hemisphere will meet in Los Angeles this week for the Summit of the Americas, where the Biden administration is expected to announce new cooperation pacts to stem and address migration issues across the hemisphere.

The pacts will likely send a message to migrants that they will not be permitted to travel to the U.S. or other countries. However, migrants told reporters that they have grown frustrated with Biden’s promise as a candidate to reform the asylum system, as well as his administration’s ban on asylum-seekers during the coronavirus pandemic.
