Biden’s press office plagued by negative coverage

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
The White House has been plagued in recent weeks with negative reports about President Biden’s press office coinciding with a series of messaging gaffes, and mainstream news organizations typically friendly to Biden have taken notice.“It has been most interesting to see the establishment media try to adjust its coverage of the Biden administration. Mainstream media helped run cover for Biden in the 2020 campaign and for the early months of his administration,” DePauw University journalism professor Jeffrey McCall told Fox News Digital. “But the media narrative that Biden was a unifier and that any national problems were just Trump leftovers just had to disintegrate in the face of cold reality,” McCall said. “Even the left-of-center media have had to grudgingly acknowledge that the Biden administration is struggling.” McCall believes media credibility is “already quite dismal” and continued promotion of Biden has become unworkable when p …

Don’t Close Embassy, US Ambassador Tells Russia

LONDON—Russia should not close the U.S. embassy despite the crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine because the world’s two biggest nuclear powers must continue to talk, the U.S. ambassador to Moscow was quoted as saying on Monday.President Vladimir Putin has cast the invasion of Ukraine as a turning point in Russian history: a revolt against the hegemony of the United States, which the Kremlin chief says has humiliated Russia since the 1991 fall of the Soviet Union.
Ukraine—and its Western backers—says it is fighting for its survival against a reckless imperial-style land grab.
In a clear attempt to send a message to the Kremlin, John J. Sullivan, the U.S. ambassador appointed by President Donald Trump, told Russia’s state TASS news agency that Washington and Moscow should not simply break off diplomatic relations.
“We must preserve the ability to speak to each other,” Sullivan told TASS in an interview. He cautioned against the removal of the works of Leo Tolstoy from Western bookshelves or refusing to play the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
His remarks were reported by TASS i …

Retweet Started Dumpster Fire at WaPo

Grab some popcorn for this episode of internal blood sports in the workplace. This story emanates from the walls of The Washington Post, where one retweet caused a staff meltdown that got quite ugly on Twitter. It wasn’t the worst joke. Long-time political reporter for the publication, Dave Weigel, retweeted a joke that some over there found deplorable. YouTube host Cam Harless tweeted, “Every girl is bi. You just have to figure out if it’s polar or sexual.” Yeah, not the worst thing to say or tweet, but it caused so much of a problem it led to Weigel apologizing (via Fox News): Washington Post’s Chief Communications Officer Kris Coratti told Fox News, “Editors have made clear to the staff that the tweet was reprehensible and demanding language or actions like that will not be tolerated.“Weigel also removed the retweet from his Twitter page and issued an apology. “I just removed a retweet of an offensive joke. I apologize and did not mean to cause any harm,” Weigel wrote. Harless, the original author of the tweet, reacted to Weigel’s apology, writing, “it’s weird to see someone else apologize for somet …

9 Things Learned From The Sussmann Trial

Less than one week ago, a Washington D.C. jury acquitted former Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann of lying to former FBI General Counsel James Baker. Since then, pundits on both the left and the right have painted the verdict as an indictment of Special Counsel John Durham, suggesting his investigation into the perpetrators of Spygate is a bust.
This myopic view of the prosecution, however, ignores the many revelations exposed since the special counsel indicted Sussmann last September. Here are nine significant details learned from the Sussmann prosecution.
1. The Scheming Behind the Crazy Alfa Bank Hoax
The special counsel’s indictment against Sussmann alleged he lied to Baker when presenting Baker data and whitepapers purporting to show a secret communication network between the Russian-based Alfa Ban …

1/3 Making $250k Are Living Paycheck to Paycheck

About 36 percent of Americans earning at least $250,000 a year claim that they are living paycheck to paycheck, a sign on how rising inflation is hitting households at all ends of the spectrum throughout the country, according to two surveys quoted by Bloomberg.Individuals earning $250,000, who are among the top 5 percent of income earners, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, are spending most of their income on household expenses, according to the surveys by Pymnts.com and LendingClub.
Americans across all income brackets are currently facing the highest inflation rates since the early 1980s, which is hitting essential items like food and energy and is affecting lower income earners harder.
Bloomberg said that consumer borrowing in March soared to one of the highest on record, as credit card balances and non-revolving credit skyrocketed, a sign of increased consumer spending amid rising prices.
Only 10 to 12 percent of respondents earning over $100,000 who said they were living paycheck to paycheck had issues paying their bills, with the majority reporting that they were still comfortable.
LendingClub said that 48 percent of those earning at least $100,000 are beginning to struggle, an incre …

CNN Grills Biden Commerce Secretary
CNN’s Jake Tapper pressed Biden Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo on Sunday over the administration’s seemingly slow response in dealing with various issues that he noted experts had forecasted would become problematic.“So, you heard Secretary [Janet] Yellen this week said she got it wrong about inflation. In July, you told Bloomberg that inflation would be temporary, about a year ago,” Tapper said on the network’s Sunday morning show, “State of the Union.”“As recently as six months ago, you were calling inflation a ‘short-term problem,’ not a long-term problem,” he said. “So, you got it wrong too.”“So, clearly, we are and Americans are struggling with inflation, but I don’t think anyone predicted Putin’s war in Ukraine or various other things that have happened that have been unexpected,” Raimondo sa …

400K Ukrainian Migrants Will be Put On Dole

A German state agency has said that it will likely soon be providing over 400,000 more Ukrainian migrants with unemployment benefits over the next few weeks.
A total of around 410,000 migrants ostensibly from Ukraine will soon be on the German dole, with hundreds of thousands more on top of that expected to end up receiving unemployment benefit in the central European state before the end of the year.
This is the assessment of Germany’s Federal Employment Agency, which is already reportedly giving handouts to millions of migrants under the so-called “Hartz IV” scheme.
According to a report by Die Welt, hundreds of thousands of people claiming to be refugees from Ukraine will sign on to the German dole over the coming number of weeks, though the agency also reportedly emphasises that these numbers can fluctuate significantly over time.
With that being said, the employment agency believes that it will be giving handouts to just under 800,000 migrants by the end of 2022.
“746,000 Ukrainian employable beneficiaries are expected …

FBI Has ‘Secure’ Workspace in Law Firm That Represents Democrats: Document

The FBI has a workspace in the same law firm that employed the lawyer who took sketchy Donald Trump-Russia claims to the bureau in 2016, the firm revealed in a new document. The workspace, known as a Secure Work Environment, at Perkins Coie’s office in Washington was cleared by the FBI on March 26, 2012, and has been “in continuous operation since then,” Michael Bopp, an attorney representing Perkins Coie, told members of Congress in a May 25 letter that was reviewed by The Epoch Times.
What’s more, Michael Sussmann, the lawyer who took the sketchy claims against Trump to the FBI’s nearby headquarters ahead of the 2016 election, had access to the workspace through July 2021, according to the missive.
The workspace was part of a construction project completed in 2011 and includes a General Services Administration-approved security container and a key locker, b …

AOC says she had ‘awakening’ about her indigenous heritage at Standing Rock in 2016
She’s gone from woke to “awakened.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims she experienced an “awakening” and got in touch with her indigenous ancestry in 2016, while demonstrating against the Dakota Access Pipeline at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
During a lengthy Instagram story Q&A session Saturday, the left-wing lawmaker spoke for roughly three minutes about people native to the Caribbean, known as Taíno, and the Americas, stressing that many Taíno ways are still alive and have not been entirely wiped out by European colonization.
“I really, really feel you, and understand you on this,” AOC says in the video, in response to an unnamed self-identified Boricua, or Puerto Rican, Bronx resident who said they “want to learn more” about their Taino ancestral traditions. “In fact, I feel like one of the things that first started awakening and connecting me deeply to my indigenous heritage was connecting with the Lakota Sioux at Standing Rock.”
Ocasio-Cortez — who has represented parts of the Bronx and Queens since 2019 — expressed gratitude toward various indi …

Gas has nearly reached an incredible $10 a gallon
New Yorkers paying five bucks a gallon for gasoline may think things can’t get much worse — but in one California town people are shelling out nearly double that for a fill-up
A Chevron station in the coastal village of Mendocino about 175 miles north of San Francisco was charging $9.60 a gallon for regular on Friday afternoon.
That’s more than $3 a gallon above the state average of $6.30, and $4.78 higher than the national average of $4.82, according to AAA.
But individual stations throughout the country are charging more than the average, including one LA station that topped $8 on Friday.
Prices have also surged in New York, where the statewide average has hit $4.851, according to AAA – with the average in all boroughs except Staten Island topping $5 Saturday morning.
The Menocino station, Schlafer’s Auto Body & Repair, is the only one in the tourist haven — described on the county website as “an enchanted place filled with real, unspoiled California opportunities” — and is routinely considered the most expensive in the nation.
The Mendocino Chevron station’s pri …
