(The Center Square) – Gas prices have hit record highs day after day in recent weeks, breaking the $5 mark over the weekend for the first time ever.Those higher prices have put many Americans in a bind as they also deal with the highest inflation in decades. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas hit a record high $5.01 Monday, up from $4.43 a month ago and much higher than the price of $3.08 this time last year.All 50 states around the country have seen major price hikes, though some more than others.With average prices varying by state, here is the breakdown, from highest to lowest, of the regular gas price for every state in the nation.

Here’s one question White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says reporters shouldn’t be asking.
CNN’s Don Lemon pressed her Monday night on whether President Joe Biden has the stamina, physically and mentally, to run for reelection and lead beyond 2024 following a report over the weekend about Democrats being worried about his leadership, age, and ability to beat former President Donald Trump in a rematch.

Capitol Police Debunked J6 Narrative

In a major blow to one of the Democrat-led Jan. 6 investigative committee’s allegations, the Capitol police chief declared Monday there is no evidence that Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk led a group of protesters on a reconnaissance mission the day before the riots.Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger, appointed since the Jan. 6 tragedy, wrote in a letter to Congress obtained by Just the News, that an exhaustive review of security footage found no evidence that the Georgia congressman did anything other than give constituents a tour of some congressional office buildings.

Official: Drunk Giuliani Fueled Trump’s Stolen Election Belief

Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller told the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack at the U.S. Capitol that Trump campaign lawyer and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was drunk on election night.
In recorded testimony, which was played during a committee hearing Monday, Miller told committee investigators that during a discussion with Giuliani, campaign manager Bill Stepien, deputy campaign manager Justin Clark and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Giuliani was intoxicated.
“Was there anyone in that conversation who in your observation had had too much to drink?” a committee investigator asked Miller.
“Mayor Giuliani,” said Miller.
“Tell me more about that. What was your observation about his potential intoxication during that discussion about what the president should say when he addressed the nation on election night,” asked the investigator.

DeSantis Talks ‘Insurrection’

Governor Ron DeSantis is not happy that Democrats and the liberal media are virtually ignoring an assassination attempt on Justice Brett Kavanaugh and pro-abortion threats against the Supreme Court.
There have been 59 cases of pro-abortion violence since the Dobbs leak — including attempted murder, firebombings, and vandalism. DeSantis says those attacks — along with the radical protests at justices homes, doxxing of the justices and their children, and attempts to literally block access to the Supreme Court building are all an “insurrection.”

Disgraced Liberal Icon Michael Avenatti Offers to Plead Guilty to Multiple Criminal Charges He Faces in California

Michael Avenatti, the one-time cable news staple who represented porn actress Stormy Daniels in her legal battles against former President Trump, offered over the weekend to plead guilty to multiple criminal charges he is facing in California. He has already been convicted for crimes against Daniels and attempting to extort Nike Inc.For his prior convictions, Avenatti is already facing five years in prison and is potentially facing 300 more for 36 criminal charges in the California case. Some of those charges include deceiving the IRS, stealing millions of dollars from his clients, and defrauding a bank.
In a court filing in Santa Ana, Avenatti said he wants to plead guilty to be “accountable; accept responsibility; avoid his former clients being further burdened; save the court and the government significant resources; and save his family further embarrassment.”
It is unclear to which of the several dozen counts Avenatti will plead guilty. The filing does, however, say that over the last 30 days, he has been unable to reach a plea deal with prosecutors and wants a hearing.
