Library of Congress to House Your Tweets

Library of Congress to House Your Tweets:

Kent German, writing for CNET's Crave Gadget Blog:

The Library of Congress announced today—via Twitter, no less—that is acquiring the Twitter's entire archive through donation…. Though the whole idea may sound bizarre, the Library already holds more than 167 terabytes of Web-based information, including legal blogs and Web sites for political candidates and current lawmakers.

We all best write a little more carefully, I suppose.

Dribbble, Martian Contest Winners

The results (and selections from myself based on a purely ambiguous, subjective awesomeness rating) are in. Here are the eight nine winners.

Martian Poster Winners

The following individuals have won a signed copy of the Colosseo, Exclusive "Martian" Edition:

Based on number of likes, Craig Henry's ßark and Dave Mott's Dribbble Ball are automatic winners. Even without the likes, however, they should have won—they're both incredibly creative and obviously required a good amount of time to...

Opera Mini vs. Mobile Safari, a Flickr Photoset

Opera Mini vs. Mobile Safari, a Flickr Photoset:

Screenshots I took this morning comparing Opera Mini for iPhone and Safari on iPhone, using Opera.com, NYTimes.com, Apple.com, and CameronMoll.com.

First impressions after a few minutes of testing: Opera Mini is definitely snappy on iPhone. NYTimes.com loads quite fast compared to Safari. Organ Theme for Tumblr

Organ Theme for Tumblr:

From its creator, Simurai:

Design + interactivity = +1

Twitter Unveils "Promoted Tweets" Advertising Plan

Twitter Unveils "Promoted Tweets" Advertising Plan:

Claire Cain Miller, reporting for The New York Times:

The advertising program, which Twitter calls Promoted Tweets, will show up when Twitter users search for keywords that the advertisers have bought to link to their ads. Later, Twitter plans to show promoted posts in the stream of Twitter posts, based on how relevant they might be to a particular user….

When a Twitter user searches for a word an advertiser bought, the promoted message...
