Colosseo Contest #4: Win a Dribbble Invite

Colosseo Dribbble Invite Giveaway

It's been a fun week for me. Two iPad giveaways (Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G), a rebound playoff, and today's invite giveaway—all with the intent of helping provide some exposure for my Colosseo poster. Thanks to everyone who has participated so far.

First, on Dribbble: To be clear, I take no credit for what Dribbble has become. Credit is to be given to Dan Cederholm and Rich Thornett. While the concept may have been inspired by Screen Grab Confab, they took the concept much farther than I ever did a...

Colosseo Contest #3: Exclusive "Martian" Poster

Colosseo Exclusive \"Martian\"<br /> Giveaway

The first and second Colosseo contests offer you the chance to win an iPad. This third contest gives you a shot at winning an exclusive "martian" edition of my poster.

This lovely little guy began as a rebound playoff on Dribbble, started by Dan Cederholm. I was still designing the Colosseo at the time, had a few minutes to spare, and threw my rebound into the mix. Just before printing began a couple months later, I asked Bryce to print a few extra(terrestrial) copies featuring the little...

iPad Orientation CSS

iPad Orientation CSS:

According to Jason Grigsby, WebKit on iPad honors CSS media query declarations based on orientation. As such, you can deliver different content based on portrait and landscape viewing by simply adding (orientation:portrait) or (orientation:landscape) to your link element. (See also Jason's original post.)

Interesting letterhead designs, as it says. You didn't have anything planned for the next hour anyway, right?

KORG iElectribe for iPad

KORG iElectribe for iPad:

I had no idea the KORG Electribe R even existed, but this app is a beautiful example of how an iPad can be just about anything you'd like it to be. Fun to play with, too.

Screw the Web

Screw the Web:

Faruk Ateş, adding fuel to the web vs. app debate:

So screw the Web, for it is too limiting for us creators—be we designer or developer or content writer or otherwise—to build things that inspire and instill a sense of wonder in its audience. We should be thrilled by the iPad (and the new breed of similar devices soon to follow), because it offers us a chance to break free from our DOM-driven chains and CSS hackery and actually use a platform that's designed from the ground...

Secrets of the Biggest Selling Launch Ever

Secrets of the Biggest Selling Launch Ever:

Seth Godin:

Over 25 years, Apple has earned the privilege of delivering anticipated, personal and relevant messages to their tribe. They can get the word out about a new product without a lot of money because one by one, they've signed people up. They didn't sell 300,000 iPads in one day, they sold them over a few decades.

Seth's entire list is not only worth reading but evangelizing—especially within large organizations:

Make a product worth...
