Haäfe & Haph Ampersand 10-Pack
These OpenType/EPS ampersands (available for just $10) are matched only by this site's design. Great stuff.
John Mark Herskind, Illustrator
He's 17. I'm amazed.

iPad Ready Websites
Apple:
iPad features Safari, a mobile web browser that supports the latest web standards—including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Here are just a few of the sites that take advantage of these web standards to deliver content that looks and functions beautifully on iPad.
They're speaking our language. I'm listening.

Game Table for iPad
Checkers, Chess, and cards games together in one app for $0.99. But what's interesting is this:
Game Table is not a video game. There is no "logic" built into these games. Game Table simply provides brilliantly designed game tables and game pieces along with an extremely intuitive and fun way for you and your friends to interactive with them.
What I've not enjoyed about the Chess and Checkers apps I own on my iPhone is that there's too much logic built into them at...
Screencasting: Lessons Learned
We've added a third job type to Authentic Jobs, specifically for contract positions. You can read more about the hows and whys over at the Authentic Jobs blog.
I'm repeating the screencast video here merely to give me a chance to talk about the making of it. Surprisingly, this is only the second screencast I've done throughout 11 years of doing web stuff. I've still got plenty to learn.
The above video was recorded using ScreenFlow. I've been using iShowU for several years to capture video f...
Sneaker Script OT
Some of the cursive characters in this typeface are a little tough to read, which means it wouldn't be ideal for setting copy. But a logo with a friendly, humanistic feel? Probably perfect for it.
TwelveSouth's BookArc for iPad
I absolutely love my BookArc for MacBook Pro. This iPad version is a guaranteed purchase once it's in stock.

The Score: Advice to Young Composers
I had aspirations of becoming a film score composer growing up. Of course, that dream hasn't materialized (yet). But if you're on the same path, consider Annie Gosfield's advice, which may even be applicable to other creative fields:
Make sure you're always doing some work that is yours and yours alone—not composed for the approval of teachers or colleagues. There's a chasm between writing in school and writing in the real world. Regardless of what...
PixelPads: Sketchbooks for iPad
Shipping April 3rd:
At the heart of PixelPads is the 10-pixel grid which allows you to sketch detailed, pixel-perfect interfaces yet it's also light and unobtrusive enough that free-spirit designers and developers can freely color outside the lines for more organic interfaces.
But that's only half the story, on the back of each sheet you'll find the 4- screen storyboard format, perfect for designing and developing horizontal and vertical sequences.
Orde...
Giant Bowery FMX Bike
This is probably not the ideal choice as my first road bike, which I'll be purchasing hopefully soon, but I could totally see myself springing for a track racer/BMX hybrid.
