I put my dirt pants on this morning
I put my dirt pants on this morning in the vain hope that I'd be able to make them, well, dirty, before the sun goes down. It's a wishful thought that will not become realized until maybe Monday because the world is plotting against me. But hope is there. Between the work load and a back issue, I've not gotten dirty in over a week. Okay, two weeks, and it's been extremely frustrating.
Yesterday, though, I went plant shopping with my mom, (I knew better, but everything was 30% off!) and I b...

If I had a time machine
If I had a time machine, Guy would have swiped it yesterday, gone back about a hundred years, and smacked whoever put three coats of ugly brown varnish on that beautiful wood floor he just spent two days sanding. It took over two dozen sheets of 20 grit, one by two foot pieces of sandpaper, and about 60 discs of sandpaper, but he finally got the last of it up last night. The friction caused so much heat that the varnish melted, not sanded, and it gummed everything up. It needs a bit of...

Remember last month
Remember last month when one of my favorite urban fantasy writers, Jocelynn Drake, had her latest release? Well, she's doing it again. -grin- WAIT FOR DUSK was released yesterday, and it's a good thing, because PRAY FOR DAWN was a bit of a cliff hanger. (I hate cliffhangers, but if she's going to bust her butt to get the second one out a month after the first, then I'll forgive her. -laugh-)
If you're looking for a good, solid, smart, read, this might be it. Jocelynn has a more than a...

Hollows Graphic Novel
I worked on the GN yesterday, polishing up the first half and putting numbers in the boxes, now that I think I have everything set the way I want it. I quit yesterday at the ending of a chapter, not sure what I wanted to do with the next five pages. This is one of the issues that come up whether you're writing novels, short stories, or graphic novels.
The five pages give a peek into one of the character's home life, which isn't necessary for the story, but is interesting if you're invested i...

Chilly today
I hear it was 106 Fahrenheit in SC yesterday. Dudes, that's totally unreasonable. I'm sitting at a cool 65 right now, with the windows open and cardinals singing. Got my hummingbirds at the feeder, skittish and shy. My squirrel-proof feeder is up, and my suet hanging next to it. Mr. Fish is sitting on my desk, and Chill is chilling on my radio. I guess that means it's time to go to work. -laugh- This week, I'm back to work on the second Hollows graphic novel to get it brushed up for m...

I got nothing for you
It must be the post-mid-week blahs, cause I got nothing for you today. Not even a picture of the puppies! ;-)

And the number is . . .
I haven't set foot on a scale in over a month. It's not like I'm obsessed with my weight, but I've got a couple of health concerns (not issues or problems, just concerns that might crop up in the future) that are aggravated by weight, and I have been trying hard to keep my weight stable through the frustrating 40′s and 50′s where the female body TRIES to put the pounds on.
Some weeks are better than others.
I had gotten into the practice of weighing myself every morning, but the scale didn't g...
