Things are getting scary

Ever have one of those days, no weeks, no, months, that you know things are going to be kind of wonky, but you push on regardless, trying to open your thought patterns up so you can take on new challenges while simultaneously trying to follow old patterns that you HAVE to keep to.  I've had one of those months.  It's a weird, frustrating, and expansive experience.  And when I say things are getting scary, it's because things are starting to make sense, the new stuff is starting to feel...

Copy edit, pt two

So how many typos and misused words did you find in my post below?  A post that, by the way, went through spell checker with flying colors?  As I said, I need a good copy editor because I can get sloppy, especially if I'm trying to get to the exciting part of the manuscript.  And despite all the crabbing and venting, (which was just shy of a temper tantrum, by the way,) I have to admit that I generally get a good one.  It's me that has the issue here, not the copy editor.

And I still hate...

How do you spell "Copy Edit"?

And does the question mark go on the right or the left side of the quotation mark?

Yep, my favorite time of year.  Copy edit.  I really loath copy edit.  One hundred percent down to my toes.  I never have the same copy editor twice, so I imagine that the feeling is mutual and my copy editors hate me.  I'm not very nice when they get snarky, and some of them do, because copy editors know EVERYTHING, and they are always right, even though there are accepted differences in how to spell or divide ...

If you like the Hollows . . .

Have you tried Jocelynn Drake's Dark Day's series?  The fourth one PRAY FOR DAWN will be out next week, and Harper has several chapters up as a sneak peek.  If you like what you see, you've got four books to catch up on.  -grin-  I know some of you out there go through books like I go through chocolate.  I've always enjoyed Jocelynn's work.  Her vampires don't sparkle. They are bad, just the way I like them.

Big news here is it's Friday!  And if that's my big news, then you can be sure...

It's Thursday, right?

Dude, I lost a day somewhere.  I thought it was Tuesday most of yesterday.  I think it's because I spent all friggen day on one element of the world book.  I've got to go like a mad dog today and try to catch up.

And I'm not going to work in the yard until Saturday.  Ow.  We've got a bunch of rocks, and now that I've finally finished with weeding out and restructuring the corner garden, I've been using them to line the garden beds.  (And getting rid of that nasty plastic edging that never...

I think I scared my contractor

We've had a contractor in yesterday to finish up some work, and I think I might have scared him with what I was working on yesterday–pulling up pentagrams off the internet and modifying them for inclusion into the world book.  -grin-  I'll be finishing them up today, then moving on to demon curses.  Sheesh, maybe he has a right to be concerned.

-laugh-

And it rained, and rained

. . . but since it was at night, I don't really care–except now there are clouds of mosquitos.  Still, it's sunny this morning, and I should get a lot done.  Yesterday, I took a look at the last two chapters, and realized there were actually four there.  Good news for you guys, because it will make for a thicker book.  Bad news for me because it's going to make for a busy two weeks.

Yesterday was spent making up a new form to present the magic spells that Rachel uses.  Not bad, if I say so...

Onward

As expected, I got through chapter five last Friday, so I'm moving on to six!  I'm planning on seven chapters, so I'm in the home stretch.  Yay!  Not sure how this week is going to go since I'm hitting the magic heavy in this chapter, and that can be tricky to not trip over my feet with.

Worked in the yard this weekend, not as much as I would have liked, but I should be able to plant my $3.00 plant this evening.  FINALLY!  -grin-  And, big surprise, the project has lead to another which...

Friday! Yay!

I've been waiting all week for Friday!  And finally it's here.  -grin-  I've no idea what I'm going to do this weekend, but I've got a list as long as my arm.  I guess I'll just wait and see what the weather is like, but I've got to get a new stereo.  I've been without music for almost a week, and it's gotten to the point where I'm about to go nuts.  I miss my music!

As expected, I finished off chapter five yesterday in the world book, and I'm on to chapter six today.  Should be interesting . ...

Ready for some office work

Okay, I'll admit it.  The weather was so fabulous yesterday that I cut out of the office early and played in the dirt for most of the late afternoon and into early evening.  But now I'm tired, and sitting at my desk sounds like a great idea.  That's not to say that I didn't get anything done on the world book.  I did, and I should be wrapping chapter five up today.  Yay!

So, outside I've been working on an old area that was overgrown with some greenery.  It was scraggly and nasty looking, so I...
