Where's my boots?

Yep, it's that time of year again, and I'm getting ready for another round of black cars, long waits at the airport, hotel food . . . and rows of smiling faces, eager for a chance to ask me something!  It's tour time again!  And I can hardly wait.  I'll be hitting nine cities in thirteen days, and this year, the Madison tour is international.  :-)  I get to use my passport.

The Supernatural Summer tour is organized by HarperTeen.  I did this last year, and had a great time.  One of the best...

I had a blast at HarperTeen Inkpop

Thanks guys, who came over and asked questions.  I was brain-dead by the end of it, and couldn't type anymore, but it was wonderful getting a chance to talk to so many intelligent young women with a few smart guys thrown in there, too.  They keep it for a while, so if you want to see what people asked . . .

I'm still mentally tired, which I expected.  Marathon sessions like that drain me.  So I'm going to keep it short today.  Still working on the world book.  I got Rachel's tattoo all...

I'll be at HarperTeen's Inkpop tonight

I'll be guesting at Inkpop tonight, 5:00 pm EST, taking questions by on-line Q&A.  I know I talk to you here, but I'm just saying . . .  (grin)

Inkpop is HarperTeen's outreach for up-and-coming young authors, so I'm hoping for some writing questions.  If you're an-up-and coming, come on up-and-over.  ;-)  I'll be there.  There are already some questions waiting for me from people who can't make it for the live portion.

Guy has asked me to let you know that if you want anything from a

Norwegian cover

I've been working steadily on the Hollows world book for about two weeks, and FINALLY I am working more on content than structure.  I got a handle on forms and such, and can muddle through now with minimal difficulty.  (as in why can't I move that text box?  Crap, I just lost my picture.  Wait, it's just behind that other box.)

What took me two days is now taking me about a half a day, so I'm hoping to get a lot across my desk this week before I leave on the YA tour.  I've also begun working w...

Slow weekend

I had a very slow, relaxing weekend.  Got into town only once the entire two days, which is unusual for me, and it was at the last hour–a quick trip to a nursery for a couple of buckets to put plants into to hang from the hooks I put up last October.

I had a lot of contemplation time as I puttered about, weeding and watering.  I was outside most of the time despite the 85 degree heat, and while wandering my yard, I saw goldfinch, cardinal, baby chickadees that fledged Thursday, a freaking...

Kim's Garden

Yay!  It's Friday!  I am going to have a busy week come Monday as I start to gear up for the Supernatural Summer tour that starts at the end of the month.  But today, I'm still working steady on the world book.  Yesterday I got outside before the sun went down, and took a few pictures of what's growing right now.  We had a cool down, but it's back to 80s again.

The trilliums are done, but the pulpits, as you can see are just starting.  It's a weird way to grow, and if you back up a few days...

Thursday already?

I'm running out of May.  Must move faster on the world book.  I spent two days on one form, but now that I've got it, it should go faster.  It's the nit-pick stuff that takes forever.

As I work on the world book, Rachel is whining in the back of my mind about not getting enough nookie.  I'm telling her it's her own fault, and so she's brooding.  I've found when a character starts to examine her lifestyle, it's an early warning sign of trouble ahead.  It should make the rewrite on book ten...
