Six on Saturday – Floods of Good 2🌸12🌸23

Earlier this week we had a day of heavy rain after months of very little rain, we received a month’s worth or rainfall in one day. We were quite relieved and not bothered by the deluge, as we live on a hill, so it all flowed away very quickly after it fell. It was a pleasure to see, but we had to monitor the main road where we live as it was in flood watch, but all was well. But our garden beds are well and truly soaked and the moisture will set us up for weeks.

This week I have been upgrading my vegetable garden with the large slightly raise metal beds. We are putting together the kits in the loungeroom and then placing the made ones in the garden.I then fill them with compost and a little manure. Then they are all set up for a no dig vegetable garden. I cover the finished beds in netting to keep out the chickens etc.

Flowering in the garden now we have lots of Asiatic lilies that I grow in pots and a few species and tiger lilies. Hopefully they will still be flowering at Christmas time, as they were last year.

After months with barely any rain it decided to come down in one huge deluge this week, a months worth of rain in one day! The weather often does that and seeks to balance out what was lacking. I am quite happy to have a moist garden, all the better for putting our the big weeds with a adding new seedlings to the garden beds. The lovely pink Asiatic lilies, Trumphinator is a trumpet hybrid, and Asiatics Cogoletto and Tango Purple Eye.The White feverfew daisy always flowers at this time of year and is a nice accompaniment to the lilies and any roses that are flowering. The Asiatic lilies have burst into blooms here we have Tango Pieton, Tango Twosome, Brindsii and the lovely fragrant pink Trumphinator Lily. It has doubled in size since last year! Its strawberry time in my veggie garden and it looks like we will have strawberries for Christmas. This is my best harvest yet!I will combine the strawberry plants with a Lebanese cucumbers in the Veggie Pod. I like to put them in a nice sticky Trifle or on a Pavlova (Australian desert made with egg whites, made on special occasions) with whipped cream! The free-range chickens roost in the loquat tree at night out of the reach of foxes. The loquat here is laden with fruit too at this time of year.I am delighted to finally get a dovecote in my garden. This one we sourced from a local carpenter. Here she sits amongst the sweetpeas and statice and one of our ponies looking on in the background.I love the blue colour of our time shed against the Asiatic Lilies that I grow in pots here. Brindsii, Tango Twosome and Tresor. The plumbago is starting her bloom time, a lovely sea of light blue loveliness.

That’s all from me.🌸 See more beautiful Six on Saturday gardens from around the world, on the Six on the Saturday tag, our host is Jim you can find his blog here .

Six on Saturday – Clouds of Butterflies 25🌸11🌸23

It is the calm after the heady heights of spring. The spring wasn’t as spectacular or as long lasting, as the last two years with a the rain we received then but then garden is more advanced in its growth. So it had more flowers overall, with the rose bushes and iris clumps larger and more floriferous. It has been unusually dry plus with mild to cold weather, an unusual combination. It has made the statice flower for weeks attracting clouds of butterflies to the garden, combined with my Cineraria saxifraga bushes and Nepetas that the butterflies, bees and wasps really love. The garden has been full of happy insects and clouds of butterflies. At one stage last month as soon as I entered the garden a cloud of butterflies wafted around me, it was like walking into a Disney animation!

Water drops on my new Just Joey rose, a pretty addition to the garden. Also here is Polarstern and Orangerie. While I did not capture any photos of the butterflies in the garden, plenty of the photos feature this cute little white flower spider that frequents the flowers at this time of year, see him on the sweet pea. Also in the collage is Pomponella rose, the statice that the pollinators love and Queen Adelaide rose.So October was the bearded iris flowering and November the roses. At the Start of December the potted liliums start to flower and flower all the way past Christmas, making it very jolly around the house where I have around 20 large pots planted up with mainly Asiatic Lilies, some Tiger Lilies and Some Trumpet/Oriental liliums. Pictured are some orange and yellow unknown asiatic lilies. Also a handmade mosaic turtle I bought from a local market where I was selling my books. I suspect I spent more than I earned, with all those tempting stalls full of goodies but it is all good publicity! Plus an earwig chewed pansy, par for the course at this time of year with lots of the spring insects still at their height. Here we have a favourite flower combination this spring of purple Verbenas and the Senecio cineraria, an accidental flower combination that is pleasing to the eye! The next photo is the Lovey climbing rose Sweet Laguna, which has its best flowering yet! Then it is Queen Adelaide rose. Lastly is the lovely flowers of Cineraria saxifraga with some Common mint, that I like to grow for salads.A photo I took this morning of the pretty gum tree blossoms of the Coral Gum, Eucalyptus torquata. When it flowers it creates a sensation among the native birds and bees. Here we have a native Raven bottom!A pretty Window basket on my back deck, full of pansies and lobelias. A favourite Pelargonium with lilac pink flowers, plus verbena and lovely Lamb’s ear.

That’s all from me.🌸 See more beautiful Six on Saturday gardens from around the world, on the Six on the Saturday tag, our host is Jim you can find his blog here .

Positive Affirmations Have The Power To Create Your Reality For The Good

Positive Affirmations are a positive creative present tense sentence, that you say out loud on a regular basis to create a better life for yourself. The words that you use become the house that you live in, so make them good! 💞🌸 Negative ones work too by way of whinging and complaining, but the results are far more salubrious with positive words.

Find out more about the power of positive words in my spiritual book ‘Fairy Sparkles’, available from Amazon and all good bookstores.

The Flow Of Your Life Always Naturally Flows Towards Your Good

Allow God/Your higher self to give your more beautiful gifts. Let life flow, let the good come in. Stop being distrustful and have faith that all is well, always. Know that God/ the Universe is benevolent, the more you believe this the more you will create it for yourself and with God. The more time you spend being positive and hope-filled, the more you go along with God’s natural flow of good.

Fairies Light Up With A Sparkle When you Save Their Insect!

Fairies Light Up With A Sparkle When you Save Their Insect! When you put an insect outside, the insect fairy ‘lights up’ with a spiritual fairy sparkle by way of thanks from them to you, for saving their little charges life! This is a very cute example that everything in nature is conscious and notices when you do good for the environment. No matter how small your good deed!

It’s an amazing fact that we gardeners can actually communicate with our plants, via their fairy, the spiritual part of the plant. They are conscious, know about what we are doing in our gardens and have opinions about us!
