The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand
The Perfect Couple - Engaging family drama.
The Perfect Couple is another engaging family drama by the queen of the summer novel, Elin HIlderbrand. This novel centers around the Winbury's, a wealthy Nantucket family that includes a cheating father, a novelist mother, and two adult sons. The youngest son, Benji, is getting married at his parents' oceanfront estate, and the home is filled with interesting wedding guests. But when the maid-of-honor is found dead on the beach, some of the guests become murder suspects.
Told from multiple characters' points of view, this story reads like a whodunit. Just when you think you've solved the mystery, something new comes to light. The Perfect Couple is fast-paced and engaging with a cast of complex characters. The book kept my attention from start to finish, and the ending took me by surprise. If you're a fan of Hilderbrand's novels, you will probably enjoy The Perfect Couple. If you haven't read her, check out my reviews of more of her books, and give her a try.

Watch Me Disappear - Engaging suspense novel.
Watch Me Disappear is an engaging suspense novel and family drama. The story begins a year after Billie, a beloved mother and wife goes missing from a hiking trail. Olive, her teenage daughter, begins having visions that her mother is still alive and needs her help. Even though Jonathan, her dad, is skeptical, he begins digging into his wife's disappearance. What Jonathan discovers through Billie's friends, ex-lover, and family, is that his wife is not who he thought she was. Suddenly, he also believes that Billie may be alive, and he and Olive embark on a mission to find her.
Watch Me Disappear is filled with twists and turns, and it kept my attention the entire way through. The characters are multi-faceted which make them seem very real. Just when you think you've figured everything out, there's another plot twist all the way up until the surprise ending. If you're a fan of suspense novels like Gone Girl and The Husband's Secret, you may like this book. So far, this is my favorite suspense novel I've read this year.
